She said it wouldn't be boring!-WONDER WB Caribbean cruise - Bonus Posts Wrap up

Sorry to hear Fran has a cold and has to withdraw for a while on the new med. I understand though they lower your immunity.

Wow chocolate tequila! I bet that was something else. Here Cadbury do a liqueur around Christmas time a bit like Baileys. It's nice. Quite a deep complex taste if the tequila is anything like that. It's a journey of your taste buds from sweet to then something warmer undercurrent. Most pleasant. That mangoberry margarita looks fab.

Love your kethcup mickey! Oh my apple strudel my favourite when it's done right. I love your photos of the Wonder. The characters on the side so cute :-)

We sailed on the Norwegian Jade and the Pride of America. My parents have been on the Jewel. You don't go back after Disney :-) well we didn't !

Great update thanks. Nice to see those photos of Mexico. Phooey to the FDA removing drugs from the shelves!

I'm not a tequila fan at all. But I love chocolate. Still, I just don't know about that stuff... :rotfl2: :lmao:

Lunch back on the ship looked like a good choice though. Delicious, free and probably more friendly to the digestive tract than anything you'd have found ashore. :lmao:

Loved your Wonder pics off cozumel. I love to shop so I was excited to shop there. I agree that the shop workers are so pushy. We also ended up buying at the duty free shop as well. If wex get go back, I hope to go to the turtle farm.

Great update :) I hate those pushy vendors in Mexico. Makes me steer clear instead of going inside to shop. So did you not buy any from the first place you tasted all those flavors?

Cute pic of Fran with the statue guy.

Chocolate tequila? I think I would have been hooked too.
That green punch buggy is great. I hope you got the first punch. :thumbsup2
The meal at Triton looks delicious. I think I would have ordered the pulled pork sandwich.

Nice photo op!

It was really nice. I’m looking forward to when we feel better and can have some folks over and enjoy it. I thought about the pulled pork sandwich, but I’m sort of particular about my pork! :lmao:

Very nice sunrise pics.

Nice pic with Anna & Elsa.

The food demo looked like fun but would have liked something else. LOL. Not a fan of mushrooms.

Lunch looked good.

The Yellow Bird drink sounds good.

Dinner at Palo looked very good.

Nice pics on formal night.

That is too bad the island was basically shut down.

The turtles are cute.

The Sunken Treasure looked good.

Love the Hook & Smee pic.

Chocolate Tequilla sounds interesting.

Chilled Tangerine Soup sounds interesting.

I have caught up, again.

Wow! You were really behind there! I’m glad you’re all caught up!

I enjoyed your pictures of Wonder when you left the ship.

The chocolate tequila sounds nice but as you know that I don't drink.

Lunch at Triton's look very appetizing and delicious.

It’s only in port that you can actually get nice pictures of the ship. At the cruise terminal there is always so much blocking the ship.

Lunch at Triton’s was another good call!

Fun update! :thumbsup2

The tequila sunrise DOD looks delicious. I always got my drinks made fresh too vs getting them off the tray. They always looked a little watered down.

I never saw them on a tray, but then I didn’t spend as much time up at the pool as you guys.

Chocolate tequila? :crazy2: Sounds horrific but I am not a cultured tequila drinker. I am more a shot/worm girl. :rotfl2:

You couldn’t drink too much of this one, kind of like doing shots of Hershey’s syrup! :rotfl2:

Lunch looks yum and you can never go wrong with a Mickey bar. :lovestruc

The Cobb salad looks good but nothing like the one we shared at the Plaza Inn. That one was heavenly.

I could really use a Mickey bar about now (as long as I was in the warmth of my own house.), I bet it’s really cold at the park right now. And nothing really compares to the Plaza Inn Cobb Salad, they have the best!

Sorry to hear Fran has a cold and has to withdraw for a while on the new med. I understand though they lower your immunity.

She’s on antibiotics now, and once the cold is gone, she has to wait a week before resuming. She did get approved for the drug by insurance, but I sure hope that they pay a lot of the copay, the drug is almost $2500 per month!

That Cadbury liqueur sounds heavenly, I love Cadbury chocolate, especially the Carmello bar.

Love your kethcup mickey! Oh my apple strudel my favourite when it's done right. I love your photos of the Wonder. The characters on the side so cute :-)

That was my first ketchup Mickey, it was so cute!

We sailed on the Norwegian Jade and the Pride of America. My parents have been on the Jewel. You don't go back after Disney :-) well we didn't !

Great update thanks. Nice to see those photos of Mexico. Phooey to the FDA removing drugs from the shelves!

I’ve been on a couple of other cruise lines, but it seems that we keep going back to Disney. I wouldn’t mind trying Celebrity again though.

I'm not a tequila fan at all. But I love chocolate. Still, I just don't know about that stuff... :rotfl2: :lmao:

Lunch back on the ship looked like a good choice though. Delicious, free and probably more friendly to the digestive tract than anything you'd have found ashore. :lmao:

We’re big tequila fans and this was just like a marriage in heaven. I can’t wait to open the bottle and have a tequila chocolate sundae!

That was my exact reasoning about lunch on the ship. No out of pocket cost, and I wouldn’t worry about my insides being all funky for the next week!

Loved your Wonder pics off cozumel. I love to shop so I was excited to shop there. I agree that the shop workers are so pushy. We also ended up buying at the duty free shop as well. If wex get go back, I hope to go to the turtle farm.

I don’t know who they think will take their bait being so pushy and all, but I guess some people must or they wouldn’t keep doing it.

Great update :) I hate those pushy vendors in Mexico. Makes me steer clear instead of going inside to shop. So did you not buy any from the first place you tasted all those flavors?

Cute pic of Fran with the statue guy.

We bought the chocolate, but actually it was the second place. We stopped at the duty free shop first, and they gave us a try or two. We told them we would be back and then we price matched, and they had the best prices of all the shops we looked in, so we ended up back at the duty free. I didn’t care so much for the fruit infused tequilas, but the chocolate one was really good!

Yeah see, the statue guy didn’t try to hassle us or get us to buy anything and we tipped him a few bucks for letting us take his picture!

Only Disney can time travel a Holiday.

If you have been paying close attention, you’ll remember that the day that we boarded the ship was October 31. I had set out on this trip thinking that we would wear our Halloween Costumes on October 31, but upon receiving the first Navigator for the cruise, clearly Disney had other ideas. There were some people dressed up that first night of the cruise, but with the whole impromptu massage that first night, I decided against dressing up.

The second night of the cruise was called “Dress up Night”, but that was a code name for “Formal Night”. Tonight was “Halloween or Cruise Casual”. I was skeptical. Really? Four nights after Halloween and you think a bunch of people are going to get dressed up and pretend that tonight is Halloween? We went with it, and evidently Disney is right. People will get dressed and pretend it’s Halloween four nights late.

These were only a few of the folks that we encountered. The ones taking a selfie were behind us in line while we were waiting for pictures. We got quite a few pictures that night.

And then we went off to dinner. I really wanted to be Cruella, but we couldn’t find a costume in my size. I totally lucked out on my costume because when we were out garage saleing a couple months ago, we came upon a sale where folks who used to have a costume shop were liquidating. Fran talked them down to 8 bucks for my costume!

Fran was stopped on a number of occasions and asked if they could take her picture. I guess a Dalmation riding a scooter made for a pretty good photo op!

Tonight was dinner in Parrot Cay, it’s my least favorite rotational menu and especially now that they took the Spinach Salad off the menu, I like it even less, but it is still better than the Pirate menu! We almost always get the same thing when we have this menu, so I tried to be a little different.

Bread Service: It was Banana Bread with Banana Butter. I love my own Banana Bread, but I’m always afraid to try other people’s version. I’m not a fan of nuts in bread, raisins or other surprises, and so often I’ve been unpleasantly surprised that I just went with the plain white rolls.

We always get the Baked Crab Martinique, but it’s served with so many plantains that I don’t fancy.

I asked our server to bring us some more of the chips, which he happily obliged.

It was pretty good, but there were more veggie fillers in there than actual crab.

Fran had the Cream of Green Asparagus Soup. I skipped soup or salad.

Usually I get the Mixed Grill here, but our server assured me that the Prime Rib would be served Medium Rare. I do a pretty good Prime Rib, so I’m skeptical of locations that aren’t Prime Steakhouses, especially banquet style facilities. This was pretty good, Fran enjoyed it too.

I look pictures of the dessert and cordials menu, but I don’t have any pictures of dessert, so I have to assume we didn’t order any. I also looked closely at the menu, and there was nothing on there that I wanted. We probably stuffed ourselves on the Prime Rib and were ready get out of our costumes and go to bed.

Coming back to the room we found this little towel animal.

And look what happened to Lucifer! :scared1: The Horror!

Next UP: How do we spend our last day at sea?

I hope I'm not jumping in between updates but I think I'm safe with it being the end of a day.

I LOVE your and Fran's outfits!!! You guys really got in the spirit, you look fabulous! And the characters are too cute in their different outfits too. Great photos!

I think I remember the banana bread being quite tasty. But I know how it is to compare to your own.

Lucifer didn't get treated well this trip that's for sure.

That is very neat that the guests are all dressed up in costumes after Halloween. Your costumes are very nice as well as your pictures with Mickey and Minnie.

Parrot Cay menu looks very interesting and the food porn looks nice.

Sorry about Lucifer that didn't get treated well.

OMG, Love your costumes! Fran is the cutest dalmatian ever! Parrot Cay's banana bread is fabulous...I don't remember nuts in it. I always ask for extra. :)

Jill in CO

Now pouring that tequila sauce over ice cream sounds good!

Dang that family really went all out with the Alice theme. And of course, I love the Jack and Sally picture. I was confused by her face for a sec, and didn't know why she had her eyes closed, but I see what she did there.

My favorite picture of you and Fran is the one with Donald!

That prime rib looks really juicy. Glad it turned out good for you guys, considering you're the master at prime rib.

Love love love love love Fran as the Dalmatian! Her posing as a pup is soon cute. :thumbsup2

You look great too and that dress is quite pretty. And for $8? you like made money.

Dinner looks yum as usual. :lovestruc

Poor Lucifer. :rotfl2: :lmao:

You and Fran look fantastic in your costumes. I'm not surprised that Fran got stopped for pictures. I would have totally done so too.
That's a great dress you have on. What a great bargain it was.

The food looks interesting. I think I would have done the Prime Rib as well.

Poor Lucifer!

Ditto with everyone else- those costumes are great! We thought the Parrot Cay meal was definitely the weakest of the bunch.

If Disney can get people to pay $60 per person to dress up at a Halloween party in early September, of course they can get people on a cruise to do it 4 days late. :rotfl2:

Your costumes look great. Looks like you saw some other very good ones that night too.

Dinner, as always, looks very good. I'm glad the prime rib didn't disappoint.

You guys looked really great in your costumes! There was one of Fran by herself that I especially liked because of the smile on her face. She looked like a little kid again. I guess that was a little bit of the Disney :wizard: magic :wizard: at work. :thumbsup2 You looked really great in that dress, too!

OMG, Allison!!! I absolutely LOVED the costume pics! So adorable! You looked great in your costume! Fran cracked me up...I was LOL because it was so fabulous how her facial expressions got in character! :rotfl:

Wow what a deal on your costume. The pics are adorable.

I hope that the antibiotics are doing the trick for Fran. Good luck with insurance and no co-pay. 2500 oh my.

Love your outfits. Lol re Dalmatian on a scooter. I think Fran should visit Costco like this see folks do a double take. We are no fan of 'bits' in our bread either. Leave our loaf alone! We asked for plain rolls on the end only.

The prime rib looked good. Shame about them holding back on crab. I love crab. Looking forward to reading about your day at sea.

So excited to read your latest report. I'm all caught up now and I had been looking forward to sitting down and reading while on Christmas break. Life has been so busy that I have yet to get started on my own report but I so, so enjoy your reports. Loving this one! Where are you two off to next for adventures?
