Boozing it up, Wonder style!
We arrived at the Mixology tasting just on time. They were starting to put the drinks on the tables as we arrived. Our host was the head bartender in the Cadillac Lounge and he had chosen a variety of special drinks for us. Each one used various techniques in Mixology, Shaking, Muddling, Layering and he explained to us about each drink before we drank it. I wont bore you but Ill try to give the basics.

These were the drinks we had. When we sat down, we were chatting with the couple across from us. I felt like I had been stalking them all day, they were just behind us at the Anna and Elsa meet. They were also at the Culinary demo. Turns out that they were part of the FB group and here they were at the Mixology. Recently, Chenza has joined the TR.

The first one was something shaken and it was sort of sweet, I believe that it was one of his signature cocktails at the bar. It was apple flavored, with some caramel liquor and something else, but I dont remember.
The second drink (he took volunteers later to make all drinks), and I made this one. It had muddled cucumber, gin, cranberry juice and a clove for flavor. I was surprised that I liked this one, but it was surprisingly good.
The third was a citrus flavored drink that everyone really liked. I believe that it had pineapple and rum and some other flavors.
The fourth one no one liked, but it grew on Fran and I. It was a take on a Long Island Iced tea, back when I used to hang out in bars in college, we called this a Malibu iced tea, instead of coke it had sprite and instead of one of the liquors it had Blue Curacao, or maybe it was in addition. The drink was not sweet and most people hated it.
The last one is a layered drink. I cant remember what he called it, but this little thing floating or hanging in it was the big key to the drink. It was to be done as shot, and it was very tasty, it used Amarula and Crème de Cacao, and the little jellyfish like thing was Grenadine.

Here is the first bunch making their drinks.

I was reluctant at first, but when I realized that the volunteers got to take their drink back to their seat, I was quick to volunteer!

And here is the next group making their drinks.

After mixology Fran wanted something to eat. Since she starts with dessert, I made her an ice cream cone.

She also wanted a Brat to help sober her up. I was saving my stomach to fill up at dinner!

They had a Salmon sandwich for their special of the day.

I wanted a Drink of the Day since I hadnt had one yet. We made sure to give the bartender some candy. He said he was going to share it with his girlfiend.

We went back to the cabin after this. It was probably around 3:30-4:00PM. We needed a mid day break as we had a big night ahead.
