Not that I don't like that, I just wish it would come through & be over with... now they're saying it won't hit until TOMORROW (saturday) night, whereas this morning it was supposed to hit tonight.... The watching and waiting reminds me of another Labor Day Weekend storm....Hurricane Elana in 1985. We had hundreds of thousands of Bay area residents evacuated into shelters and then the storm stalled about 90 miles out in the Gulf for THREE days.

Waiting till early tomorrow AM to head over to my mom's work to ride out the storm. She is the manager of a nursing home so she has to work 24/7 during this. We moved all of our things there tonight, clothes, food and drinks for 3-5 days, meds, soaps, etc. I had a brillant idea this afternoon, I went home and picked up the thin matresses you use for bunk beds from my home and tied them into rolls and brought them in for beds...
Seems we should be getting TS force winds tomorrow AM and hurricane force by 2pm or so. I'll be praying for all involved throughout Florida.
I am listening to news now, they say Melbourne is getting a outter ban in 30 mins, that will have winds of up to 50 mph and heavy rain so if you live in Melbourne PLEASE STAY INSIDE.

We are heading into our Shelter in just about an hour. It's really starting to pick up here. The winds are 30-35 sustained right now, the rain is coming down in buckets. As soon as we get a break in this we are outta here

Very windy and rainy here since about 1am. I didn't sleep well last night. I kept hearing the tree branches, of the big tree outside my bedroom window, scraping against the house. I am getting cabin fever.

They live in a single level house but I don't know if they were under evac. orders. I'm waiting for my dad to get back to me about where they are exactly. I have a lot of relatives fairly close by there so I'm hoping they at least are going to ride it out at someone elses home a little further west.

We drove to WDW on August 20th and saw alot of damage from Charley. I can't imagine what you folks in FLA are going through now! One of the monrail drivers, Trey, that we spoke with on the 23rd, said that Charley was one of the worst hurricanes he's seen in 17 years. Hard to believe that this will be worse! In thoughts and prayers. Stay safe everyone!!!
