Sharon's Journal -150 here I come!

Hi Guys! I'm back!

The weekend went fairly well. I ate pretty OP (all things considered). Kept to fruit, yogurt and a small croissant for breakfast. Had a salad or chicken for lunch, chinese for dinner one night. Drank lots of water. By yesterday, I had pretty much had it with hotel food. Broke down and had cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger was pretty lean, so that was okay, but the fries were definitely NOT okay! :guilty: I haven't gotten on the scale yet, I have no idea what it is going to say. I guess we shall see and I will just have to live with it. Oh, and I got my butt down to the fitness center and used the treadmill both days. Didn't quite know how to use the other equipment and didn't want to embarrass myself. I was happy that I got down there and MOVED.

Sat night we were up quite late (11:45ish) When we were ready to head upstairs, everyone was saying they smelled smoke. We reported it to the front desk and waited in the lobby about a half hour. Nothing seemed to come of it (front desk said something about a problem with the air conditioning.) We finally decided it was okay to head to bed, DD was afraid to take the elevator, so she made me walk up 5 flights of stairs, Guess I'll take the exercise whenever, whereever I can! :smooth:

DD's dance went fairly well. They didn't get scored as high as I tink they deserved, but overall she did well. She was exhausted by yesterday. I think 3 days of dance competition is just a little too much for her. Next one should only be 1 and 1/2 days, so that will be better.

So today is Monday and I am back OP. I am home today for the holiday. Going to try to catch up with laundry and housework. Also have to take DD to Ortho and dance practice. I will go grocery shopping and stock up on good stuff. I will also workout today. I will probably do a WATP tape since I am not sure if Curves is open today.

So that is the story for today. We got just a dusting of snow last night, so no issues to worry about with that!
Have a great day! :flower1:

Sounds like you had a good weekend, Sharon! Way to go on your food choices!!!

Have a wonderful week! :flower1:

Sharon, I've finally gotten all caught up with your journal. You sound like you are on a healthy living MISSION!! Good for you!

Don't worry about the little slipup this weekend. I'd go crazy with those limited food choices too! ::yes:: Also don't fret about the scale. If it's up a pound or two from over the weekend, it's only water weight and that will melt right off! Just get back to what works - healthy eating and exercise.

Best wishes for a wonderful day! :sunny:

Didn't do too great yesterday. :guilty: Was home all day and I got into the "bad" stuff. Overall, points weren't too bad, but I am upset with myself that I did that. I definitely need a better plan of attack for time at home. I will learn from this and do better next weekend.

I got on the scale this morning. I was at 182.5. I consider that a victory because I didn't gain after a weekend away. I am disappointed that I haven't lost more, but hopefully this week will see a downward trend!! I did the 3 mile WATP with abs dvd yesterday. Much more of a workout than the 2 mile I did the week before last. I difinitely think this one will help get me in shape! I can still feel it a bit in my arms! I am hoping to get to Curves today after work. I have very high hopes of exercising every day this week. :cool1: I figure if Sundie, Beth, Tracy and Terry can do it, so can I!! :cheer2: Plus, the schedule is much calmer than last week, so I want to take advantage of that.

Gotta Run-

CONGRATULATIONS Sharon!

You maintained after a weekend away! That is huge!

The 3 mile with abs is a big difference from the 2 mile. Great job, and going to Curves tonight to boot. You go girl!

Keep up the great work,
Beth

I swear I could have written that paragraph myself!!!! I had trouble over the long weekend (Monday off for MLKJ). The unstructured time and access to the kitchen does me in. I am trying to formulate a plan for this weekend. Its been 4 weekends in a row now that I have not been happy with how I handled myself. Let's brainstorm some ideas!!!!!

Sundie

I typed out a whole long post yesterday, hit submit and then lost the post. I was so disgusted, I didn't bother starting over. :guilty:

Anyhow, Sundie here is my plan of attack for the weekend. Number 1, I want all the junk I shouldn't have out of the house by tomorrow. Kids don't need it anymore than I do. And I will try harder to buy things that they like and I don't so I am not tempted in the future. Number 2, I will plan to reward myself with foods that are point friendly. Seafood and certain types of Chinese food come to mind immediately. Seafood overpasta is very point friendly if you fill up on the seafood and just have a small portion of pasta. A salad before that, and I will be stuffed for sure! ::yes:: And the third part of the plan is to stay BUSY!!!!! I have lots and lots of stuff that needs to be sorted through, cleaned up, thrown out, etc, etc, etc. If I am busy doing that, I won't be so bored that I will eat. Plus, I'll finally get rid of a bunch of junk I've been wanting to get to. With this forecast we have for the weekend, I figured I'd better make plans for staying in all weekend!

The last two day have gone pretty well point wise. I was kind of hungry all day yesterday, but I made good choices. I haven't been eating past 7:30 pm, so that is good. I need to step up my veggies/fruit a little bit. I've only been averaging 2 or 3 servings a day. I would like that to be an average of 4 per day. I haven't exercised since Mon. No good reasons, just didn't feel like it. DH and I had a disagreement that left me with some hurt feelings. I've been feeling sad since then and it seems to have me in a real funk. I know that exercise would actually make me feel better, but I still haven't motivated my butt to go do it. :guilty:

I am trying to visualize what I want to look like and I keep telling myself it won't happen unless I exercise and keep to my points!! Eventually I figure I will listen to myself and do the right thing. Until then, I am going to keep trying. I am trying to psych myself up for a 3 mile WATP dvd tonight. But of course, I also want to watch the new Apprentice. I am still gonna try to talk myself into the exercise! And I PROMISE to go to Curves tomorrow morning!! :jumping4:

Sharon, you will NOT lose weight unless you exercise regularly!!! Repeat to self as many times as necessary.

That's all for now. I hope I don't lose this when I press submit!

Sharon, here's how I get myself moving when I'm stuck in a no-exercise rut. It's also how I get myself moving when I don't feel like cleaning the house or balancing the checkbook. I set the timer for 10 or 15 minutes and get started. We can do almost anything for that long, right? Then when the timer goes off, I decide if I want to keep going or not. If I decide to quit, then I quit without guilt. Usually though, I've built up some momentum and the task doesn't seem all that bad and I'll keep going. Who knows, it might work for you too!

Hang in there! You're doing great with your plans for the weekend! ::yes::

Well I'm glad the cyber fairies were good to you and allowed your post to go through this time!!!!

Your plan is great. I need to work on one, too. I will post mine once I have it in place.

As for exercising, at the very least you can get up and march in place during commercials, take a couple of trips up and down the stairs. Every little bit, every minute is a plus! I know you'll get moving :moped:

Thanks for the weekend ideas. I better get working on my plan, tomorrows Friday! At least teh house is empty of junk food right now so that's a major start. Now if someone could just hide me keys from me, and my phone (take out), and...........

Sundie

Hi Sharon,

Your plan for the weekend looks solid. You've come up with some great ideas. I'll have to start working on those as well, but mine is during the week.

I know that you will get moving. Look at it this way, it is a way to keep warm.

I hope you have a very productive and cheat free weekend,
Beth

hi sharon--dont ya love when you type something and it just disappears!? drives me crazy! have a good weekend :)

Sharon, hope your weekend is a fabulous one! :flower1:

Doe, thanks for the timer idea. My problem is just getting the mojo going to begin. I definitely finish once I get going, but the getting started is my problem. But I am working on it!

The scale this morning said 181, which is one pound down. I am not claiming it yet. I have decided that I need to get through the weekend and still have the scale show a lower number before I lay claim to it! But I am encouraged by the loss. I keep repeating to myself "181, 181, 181 Sharon!" If I want that number to stick, I MUST behave!! I am doing pretty well so far today. Low on the veggies, but considering I am home and haven't munched a bunch, I am doing okay!! I think I will be alright for today. I will hit the grocery store tonight or tomorrow morning. I am going to indulge in some nice fresh fruit, like pineapple and strawberries (thanks for the idea Sundie!!) And I am going to pick up some seafood. Maybe I will make seafood lasagna? I am not sure, but I will "treat" myself to something point friendly this weekend!

Have a good weekend everyone. Stay warm! It is about 5 degrees out here and they are forcasting about a foot of snow for Sat/Sun! :earseek: Maybe I will get my exercise by sled riding on Sunday! :cool1:

TTFN- Sharon

Ugh good luck with the snow! I hate winter...how long till spring?

I like that chant to yourself - you really want that pound to be gone don't you? :) Just remember to stick to the basics, watch your points, drink your water, exercise 3 times a week.

Hi Sharon!

Your plan for the weekend sounds like a good one! We are battening down the hatches here in Ohio too. Our forecasters are saying anywhere from
9-12" of snow and arctic temperatures. Yikes! :earseek:

Pineapple and strawberries sound so tropical now! Might just help melt the snow away. :sunny: :teeth:

Take care and have a great weekend!

Have a good weekend. We are expecting major snow as well. Boy I hate winter as well. How many weeks until Spring?

:earseek: Snow snow, GO AWAY!!! :earseek:

Sharon, I hope you are staying safe and warm. I am having difficulty adjusting to these cold temps. Heck - by February we are usually mowing our grass for the first time. BRING ON SPRING!

Why not pop a WATP tape in? Just walk nice and easy and skip the arms until you feel motivated to work the tape harder. I know you can find your exercise mojo again! ::yes::

I made it to the store this am while DD was at dance. I stocked up on a bunch of stuff. Strawberries are all cut and in the fridge awaiting my evening snack. I also bought a pineapple, but I think I will wait until tomorrow to cut that up. I have a zesty potroast cooking for dinner with potatoes a carrots. It is from a low fat cookbook I have. I'll post the recipe if it comes out good! :smooth: I had salad for lunch, so I am in great shape with my fruit/veggies for today. :smooth:

I have not done any "official" exercise as yet. I WILL do a WATP video after dinner for sure. Then I plan to settle in with my book and just plain relax! :cloud9:

The snow is piling up very quickly here. They are calling for blizzard conditions. We are in for the duration. I am sure I will be out sled riding tomorrow with Bobby (7 yo). Shoveling/snow blowing is strictly for DH. It is about the only thing he is "responsible" for. Spring is when????? :earboy2:

That's it for now! Stay warm!

TTFN-Sharon

Hi Sharon :wave2: I just love your idea about saying 181! 181! over and over to remind yourself what you are aiming for. ::yes:: I know you'll still be 181 after this weekend - maybe even 180 with all that fun in the snow with your DS! :cool1: Keep up the great work!

Hi Sharon,
Your food lineup sounds great! Great preparation and planning!

The snow is here now, too. Its coming down very heavy. Unfortunately I am responsible for shoveling. Even when married, Dx has always plowed for another town so he's gone for the duration. But its good exercise!!!
