Sharing TS?

If I have the DDP for 4 family members for 3 days, that gives me 12 TS credits - am I allowed to use them for a party of 6 on one of those days, even if the other two people aren't on the DDP?

Thanks,

No, you can only use your dining credits for the people who are a part of your resort reservation.

Thanks - I thought I had read on these boards about folks with extra TS at the end of their stays randomly giving them to nearby tables, but I guess I was mistaken.

Disney's rules state specifically that dining credits are not to be used to purchase meals for guests who are not on your room reservation.

You will not be allowed to order more meals than you have people on the dining plan. For example, if there are 3 people on your plan you cannot order more than 3 meals.

Years ago you could. However, WDW now says no and make sure that their CMs follow the rules. If your KTTW card says 3A 1C then all you'll be able to order is three adult meals and 1 kids meals at a single transaction.

Yeah, actually, just a followup. I'm on property right now, and you totally can. I've done it twice, once at Crystal Palace and once at Raglan Road. I have the DDP for 4 adults. At each restaurant, I dined with 5 people, and told the server each time that we'd pay OOP for the 5th person. Both times, the server suggested - SUGGESTED - that I use 5 entitlements.

I used FastPasses well after the time printed on the pass, too. Caveat emptor. Your mileage may vary. Have a magical day!

Yeah, well, the servers aren't adhering to what Disney states very clearly in the DDP brochure:

You may not redeem meals or snacks for any Guests who are not on
your Disney Dining Plan.

Does Disney prohibit someone at your table the is paying OOP from eating food ordered by those on the DDP? We did this when the standard plan included apps and dessert so that we could save credits for a signature dinner.

Servers may be becoming less strict. A friend just came back from Disney and claimed his family was able to routinely order more adult CS than listed on the card.

Disney's rule may not actually be legal. If you buy a dining credit, it can be argued that Disney doesn't have the right to stop you from sharing that credit with someone else. (could be considered an unfair trade practice).
For example-- many companies previously put expiration dates on gift cards. But eventually the Feds came in and clarified that such expiration dates were illegal -- if some buys a store credit, you can't then profit by knowing that some people won't use their credits in time.
Similarly -- we know Apple doesn't want people jail breaking their phones. But people have a legal right to jail break their iPhone. Apple cannot legally void the warranty for doing so.

Basically -- there are a whole lot of Federal laws and regulations that basically say a seller cannot place unfair conditions on a sale.

If I buy a hot dog -- Disney probably couldn't legally stop me from giving the hot dog to someone else. Not clear that they can similarly legally stop someone from sharing a dining credit. It's actually a bit gray.
