i searched on this question and found answers from several years ago..
i'd like to know if the answer has changed so:

we'll be on DDP this year for the first time...
obviously, at buffets each of us will have to use a TS credit....

however, when we're at a regular a la carte restaurant, does everyone have to use a TS credit or can some of us share?

i'm not used to eating more than one meal a day...the CS credit will be more than i need to eat.....a TS meal will be a total waste on me....
i'll be happy with a cup of tea...

so can i do that?

Most places yes. The only one I can remember hearing there is an issue is Via Napoli.

As long as the people you are sharing with are also on the dining plan, you shouldn't have any issues.

We went to Planet Hollywood a few years ago and everyone had to use a dining credit, whether you were on the plan or not. Our plan had the 4 of us on it so all 4 had to order using the plan. I was going to just pay out of pocket for a desert as I already had eaten. We were told that was not allowed.

Other places my daughter and I had shared with no problem area few years ago are

Le Cellar
Prime Time

Now we just share counter service and save room for set down.
I will try to pay out of pocket at Corral reef next month so I can eat at Le Cellar at lunch and then join the others at lunch.

so i guess the answer is, 'it depends'... :goodvibes

i'll report back what happens.....i plan on sharing at 50's, sci fi, yak & yeti, coral reef, WCC (a la carte, not family style), GFC and Chefs de France....
it will be interesting to see what happens..

since we're 6 in our group, that would give the other 5 one additional meal..
plus the honeymooners one additional meal on their own...

and for me to use the credit would be a total waste...

Planet Hollywood is not owned By Disney. That is why everyone has eat on the DDP. I asked what if I was not staying on property, would the others still have to use there Dining plan for me (assuming one member of there party was not with them) they told me yes they would have to use there credit for me to set at the table. Does not seem fair but that is how it was.

I can't believe the nerve of Planet Hollywood to force people to use a credit for every person whether paid or "free". I would say...you can serve the meals we want to order or we can leave. There are plenty of other places to eat.

i hate planet hollywood- so we won't be eating there regardless, but that sounds ridiculous.
I don't understand why they can't make out two checks - one for the people eating on DDP and another for the person paying out of pocket...

separate checks, just like you can request in any restaurant when everyone is paying, but want to pay separately.

and if you weren't eating at all - or rather sharing other people's food - i still don't get it.
PH isn't a buffet, it's a la carte....does PH have a minimum for each person? If they have a minimum, i can understand that you might have to order something, but you should be able to pay it out of pocket.....not using the other family's DDP credit...

I planned to share a credit with my daughter at Planet Hollywood with the $15 voucher, but I guess I need to change my plan.

What about Wolfgang Puck Cafe? Do they allow two people to share a DXDDP credit? If not, can one person just order an appetizer OOP?

Thanks for the info everyone!

Interesting about Planet Hollywood. We have two room ressies, so have two $15 vouchers. I planned on the 5 of us just ordering a few appetizers with the vouchers. If they don't like it, then we will leave and eat at WPE with our credits!

The usual rule of thumb on those vouchers is you can only use one per table. Haven't looked at the voucher for awhile (was there in Jan & Feb 2011) but last time I looked at the actual voucher I believe it said right on it that only one per table allowed, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, etc. We were told no to the question of using 2 at the same table in the past.

That said, some people have reported being able to use more than one voucher at same table, so it's worth asking anyway. :thumbsup2

I nearly did walk out of Planet Hollywood the night we were told I had to use a credit if I were to set with my Children (all in their teens and tweentys). I argued the point of what if I was not even on the dining plan, still would I still have to use There dining credit, I was told yes. I ended up staying as it was late and we could not get a reservation anywhere else at that time of night. We just had lots of leftovers to carry back to the room.

I am still upset about the situation. I would say it was a very bad move for Planet Hollywood.

March 2010 -
We were a party of 8, in 3 rooms, 6 of us having DXDDP (3 in each room) and the other 2 paying oop, When the server came she asked are you on the dining plan I told her some of are and some of us are not, and told her how to separate the checks. I also told her that we had DXDDP. She took my DH and BF - DH's kttw cards to check and then returned took our order and we were good to go. The 2 not the plan did not order appetizers or dessert, but our server brought out 8 plates as we told her that we all planned to share the appetizers, same with dessert she brought 2 extra plates. There was 18% gratuity add to everyone bills. We used the 15 dollar vouchers later on in the week for just some appetizers and cocktails, and were allow to use both, again separate check

Is this something new, We are planning a GG for next year, and PH was going to be on the list for out arrival day, and again some of us will be on the DXDDP and some of us will not. How can I find out what the new policy is?
