Sharing Dessert

Would it be looked down upon for my mom and I to share a dessert at a Table Service Restaurant if we are on the dining plan? My mom enjoys dessert, but doesn't eat more than a bite or two. We would order 2 separate meals. Our plan is just for me to order a dessert and her to say she doesn't want one. I know the dessert is included, but my mom won't order one knowing she can't finish it. She also doesn't want to feel guilty sharing mine if she isn't supposed to.

You don't have to order all the components of the dining plan meal so sharing a dessert would be fine. You could also ask for her dessert "to go" and enjoy it the next morning for breakfast. Some places might let her have a cheese plate or an after dinner coffee instead.

Disney, in general, probably doesn't care, because by you not ordering the second dessert, they gain money.

Your server might care, because your tip will be calculated based on the total of what you've ordered, so they may lose a dollar, but the tip is up to you anyways.

Order whatever you want. It's your money. If it doesn't bother you that you're "wasting" part of a dining credit, then it shouldn't bother you that it may bother someone else.

As long as you're both on the dining plan, at most locations, you can share to your heart's content. You can even save credits and share your entire meal. Don't need to each use a credit.

Since we got the dining plan for free, we aren't worried about getting our money's worth. We have done the quick service plan before, but never the regular plan. We just want to make sure we are doing everything correctly.
