Sharing a toothbrush

Would you...do you share a toothbrush with your spouse?

For the most part, nope not a chance. ExH was not hygienic and there was no way I was opening myself up to that.

Db, whom I live with, is a germ-o-phobe, so it's usually out of the question. He did have to use mine once when he forgot his on a trip and the store was closed by the time he noticed. It pained him, but he made it through! In that situation, and with him, yes I would.

I think it depends on the other person, and the situation. Definitely not an everyday thing for me, for sure.

Absolutely we share, DW doesn't like my electric toothbrush though. The I see it we have things in each others mouths that are more unsanitary than toothbrushes.

I'll gladly wear fuzzy tooth slippers and chew a piece of gum before I use someone else's brush.

Ick, no! Although I will admit that once or twice in our marriage, I have forgotten which brush is mine and just hope for the best! Honestly, the thought has never crossed my mind to share his if one of us forgot on vacation. We get a hotel brush or make do with just paste and get to a store.

Let's say both your hands were in casts covering your fingers & you had no toothbrush. Would you resort to using your spouse's finger to brush your teeth?

These are my exact thoughts too. But, when I am out with my daughter and she needs to throw out her gum and can't for whatever reason, I will discretely take it and swallow it.

Ewww. The one thing I make sure we have in our bags when we travel is TOOTHBRUSHES. One for him. One for me. No way. No how. If we somehow forgot, most hotels have ones they will hand you for free. Or there is always a 7-11 to use.

Just not a big deal for us at all. If we must share we share and in the 25 years it has happened a few times. You know there is hot water to wash with in between if that helps you.
