My son is 10 and isn't the best eater. He will get adult credit.

Would it be appropriate to order 2 main courses and 2 desserts and use 2 credits if he isn't feeling up for a full meal, could he share mine and dh's food?

also, also would it be ok for him to order from kids menu and pay OOP and we could keep his TS credit

obviously I realise shows, buffets and character meals are different. I am talking for the likes of t-rex, via napoli

I'm confused by your "use 2 credits" since you didn't actually say how many people are in your party.

If you're asking if it's okay to share and split meals; using two credits to feed three people, absolutely. You could also order and pay for a kids meal to feed your son, and save his adult credit for a better use.

In addition to the obvious exceptions you've already acknowledged, Via Napoli will require a credit for each person dining.

oh sorry, it would be him sharing mine and my husband's. 3 of us.

That's great to know, thank you.

I would do that too if you want! I've shared meals (paying cash) a few times with my kids at Disney. This is especially true when it's hot, and an entree is just too much for one of us.

that a huge think for us..my 4 years old eat like a mouse, so if I understand correctly, she can eat from our plate from ou ts credit and keep the credi she didn't use for later? I know you ca use ts credit for qs if you want so..if she eat from our plae a ts 3 times, can we use her ts credit for adult in qs?

No. This plan really works best when you have a young Disney "adult." Having leftover child credits is kind of pointless. Table service credits are age-specific, so you wouldn't be able to convert a child TS credit to an adult QS credit.

What you can do is all 3 of you share 1 adult TS and 1 child CS for 1-2 meals, leaving you with an extra adult TS credit to use for another meal. It takes some juggling, but can be done depending on how your family eats. We had 2 adults and 2 kids on the DDP a few years back and I did a fair bit of spreadsheet juggling and got extra TS meals covered this way. We stayed 12 nights and had enough for 14 meals (incl 2 signatures). It did help that we had a longer trip.

When DD was 10, we told her to order what she wanted, whether it was from the child or adult menu. We had more TS booked than credits, so the 2 times she chose a child's option, we applied those credits to a meal where we would have paid OOP. It worked very well for us.

yep - if you are willing to pay OOP to supplement, much less stress with juggling credits.

I was willing on that trip in 2012, but decided to see what I could get if I juggled. My goal was to see how many credits I could squeeze out without any of us feeling deprived. I do have a lot of fun juggling this kind of stuff so not too stressful for me. I was surprised that we were able to cover ALL our food, even a daily breakfast with a bunch of CS credits left over to bring home food. The only thing I paid OOP for was our Kitchen Sink "lunch" at Beaches & Cream!

DS is 10 so he will be on adult plan. I don't want to plan in advance, but as mentioned above to ask if he wants to eat and what does he want to eat. Glad to hear I could pay for him OOP for kids meal if that's his choice

thanks for your help

Via Napoli won't let you do that. You will need to use a credit for everyone or order OOP.

Good point - We also had difficulties at T-rex. We considered staying, but ended up walking out because we didn't want quite that much food at that particular time. On the good side, we "experienced" the restaurant before walking out - the kids dug in the sandpit, the meteorite crashed and I took a bunch of photos and we toured the restaurant. We might be back one day - or we might not.

This also works in reverse, children can order off the adult menu if they like and you can pay oop instead of using an credit.

I will read your report now!

you didn't miss much, trex is not great at all. I had a salad that was kilogram of lettuce and not much else, kids meal left untouched by ds

Im in the same boat. My daughter is 11 and is super picky. I know someone other than her will be gaining weight this vacation, by finishing her meals! I'll try to have the will power to not order an appetizer if she doesnt want one. She'll mostly be eating from the kids menu. I cant really complain, as I got the free dining promo. I upgraded to deluxe for the character/shows which are 2 credits. I just like the idea of having everything paid for in advance. Not smart, but more relaxing.

We did the same thing with my DGD when she was 11. She was a DIsney Adult but several times she ordered off of the childrens menu. WE never managed to stay to our alloted credits, so we just applied any extra to another meal.
