Shareholders discount in restaurants

You can no longer use it at buffet restaurants, which is nice of Disney to actually inform their shareholders! I was refused it in Resaurant des stars Tuesday and was told its now only table service restaurants.
 
Did you query it anywhere else? It seems strange to me that this hasn't been advertised anywhere. I would have gone to City Hall and discussed it with them, as to me thats a major change in their terms and conditions.
 
No I didn't try it anywhere else and didn't think to ask City Hall. I did kick up a bit of a fuss and insisted I could use it and have done many times but she was really insistent that you can't.

I was also told many times on the stalls that sell souvenirs you can't use the card here too only in the shops.

That's strange, I used my shareholders card at Chuck Wagon and Plaza Gardens buffets on 3rd and 5th July without any difficulty.
 
It's a shame you didn't ask to speak to a manager and query it further. The discount page on the official Euro Disney SCA website must be up to date as it's showing the new Earl of Sandwich discount so I'm wondering if this particular CM is just misinformed. :confused3

As for the stalls, I believe it's only ever been in the shops that you get discount.

That's terrible. Surely they can't just change this and not advertise it? I hope this hasn't changed. Some of the buffets are quite pricey and although not 'table service' they are much more expensive from CS and should be included.
I know most of us only have a shareholders card for the discount on food it provides.
 
I think it must be a few CMs in Restaurant des Stars that don't really know what's going on. We've been refused the discount twice (last year and the year before), asked for a manager and got it. Though they had real problems putting it through the system there, took ~20 mins both times too.

Perhaps it's not in the computer system for odd reason? :confused3
 
Hmmm, this seems rather odd. I would've contacted the manager there and then with the problem. Hope you kept your bill receipt, email the shareholders address and send them a copy of it attached to it. It still reads table service and buffets, and they would surely have to email us shareholders with such a major change? I think they got mixed up that day! Not sure what they can do as it's really only a few euros that you would've saved, but maybe next time(hopefully there will not be a next time :rotfl2:) act on the spot and recover those precious cents :thumbsup2 :)

We've had Shareholder's discount applied in Restaurant des Stars several times without any problem, so it's not the computer system.
I would email the shareholders club expressing your dismay at the incorrect information you were given by the CM.
I'm sure you'll only get an apology in return but it may encourage them to review staff training, so it doesn't happen to others.

I never had a problem using it on previous two visits.
