Well let's see....here's a typical scenerio for you....Going to MK on let's say Wed (10/5) let's say it's a EMH evening....do you think that park is more crowded ALL day? after noon? or just those EMH hours? So far I have our MK day scheduled for what looks like it will be an EMH night for MK. I'd like to stay & see Spectro & wishes (which I'm assuming will be at 8pm) is that nuts? Thanks for your input :sunny:

The EMH evening parks are definitely more crowded throughout the day than on a non-EMH day, and you'll find that this is especially true at the MK. And the fact that the day you are looking at is also a Spectro day will make it very crowded from late afternoon on....

Yeah that's what I thought too. What you you do? In reality it's the ONLY night we have for Spectro :confused3 Unless I cancel the Peter Pan Cruise I had planned as a surprise, which I really have no desire to do. Guess I'll be fighting for a spot along main street

Does the same hold true for the other parks on their EMH nights as well?? Should they be avoided after noon??

I have been giving this a lot of thought too  ...10/5 is the day we planned at MK. We arrive on 10/4, plan to swim and relax since the kids will be up really early that morning.
We love to start off at MK, but I am worried that with EMHE the park will be too crowded. Then, I started looking around at the WDW website and noticed that there are still rooms available with the free dining during that time. In fact, it looks like only two or three hotels are *not* available.

Based on that, the fact that it is the first night of Rosh Hashanah, MNSSHP being offered on many of the surrounding nights, Spectro being offered also on 10/3 and 10/8, I think we are going to give it a shot. I also think that MK will be more crowded the closer we get to Columbus Day weekend...

If it gets too bad, we will leave for a break and come back in the early evening...

Just wanted to give my rational in the hopes it would help! :wizard:

Have fun - maybe we will see you there! If it is too bad, I will be the one kicking myself all along Main Street! :goodvibes

I also have the same concerns. I keep missing spectro and I def have to see it this trip. I was planning on fantasmic on the 5th but switched it to the 7th bc of the calender. I am concerned bc of emh so i guess i will get there early and find my seat on main street. I won't plan on doing any rides so I'm hoping it will be ok.

What? you can certainly do better than this. Look at the parade route and wait for the parade near the begining, not the end. Most people go to Main Street for the same reason you do, so that they're close to the exit when the parade ends. See the parade by Country Bears and chill out for 15 minutes or so after it ends, your exit will be a lot less chaotic.

Good point! We've always watched the parade in front of Casey's corner on main street - Why? I have no idea :rotfl: I'm gonna check out the parade route & see if I can't find a better place. I'm hoping getting back to MK at 7pm will give me enough time to find a spot....Maybe Val, 5DisneyNuts & I should try to snag a space for 11 !! :rotfl: :rotfl:

What the heck is a Peter Pan cruise?

I couldn't figure out how to post the link to the other thread...but here's the info:

Magical Fireworks Voyage
This dessert party is hosted by Captain Hook and Smee and is followed by a cruise of the Seven Seas Lagoon to view the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant. The evening concludes with a telling of the Peter Pan story, and Peter Pan greets your group upon return. The Magical Fireworks Voyage experience is available seasonally on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays on the Seven Seas Lagoon near the Magic Kingdom, at a cost of $29.99 for guests ages 10 and older, and $14.99 for guests ages 3-9.

A Grand Gatherings group can book one of these special events, or all of them. Experiences will be shared by multiple Grand Gathering parties. Valid theme park admission is required for all Grand Gathering experiences except the Magical Fireworks Voyage. The same experience must be purchased by at least 8 guests (based on ages 3 and up) in the party. Experiences and dates are subject to change and weather conditions. Availability is limited. Reservations can be made from 90 to 6 days in advance, and full payment for each Experience is required 45 days prior to arrival. May be cancelled up to 6 days prior to first Grand Gathering Experience without penalty. Pricing includes gratuities/service charge(s).

Last week we noticed the bus going to MK in the afternoon was very crowded the day MK had EMH night. I would avoid the park until much later in the evening or go early in the day. We didn't enjoy the EMH at all and found them useless until very, very late at night.

I am going on Oct 5th to MK also and my plan is to arrive early, leave to WCC for lunch. and then come back and evaluate the park. We'll leave for dinner, go back to hotel and enjoy the pool, then we'll go back to the park around 8 pm.

I have not done evening EMH yet but will when I go end of Sept. One thing I find interesting is I have heard alot of people say avoid the parks before and during evening EMH. However PM EMH just started this year and so no one has yet experienced it for the fall hours like sept and october. All the reports I have seen were people coming back during the busiest times of the year. So I am going to take my chances with the lower crown levels this fall. I'll be doing Epcot PM EMH the first night I am there. If it seems to be too crowded then I will change my plans for the other PM EMH's while I am there.

Oh dear. We were planning on going to MGM on the 5th and hopping to MK for SpectroMagic and Wishes, as it's the only time that week we can see them, due to luau ressies and Halloween parties. What time should we leave MGM to get to a spot in front of the Country Bears in time? Are these two events REALLY worth all that hopping and running, when we could be riding on RNR and TOT?

Does anyone know if you can book this without a grand gathering?

True the place spot for the parade is at the begiining. Great for pictures !
My plan is to see some of Mk on non-emh days and the rest of it on emh days.

We did EPCOT pm EMH the thurs before MLK weekend in Jan.

We thought it was fantastic! Especially since we only had two days in the parks before our Disney cruise. It was a late night for us, but we were glad we did it when it poured rain all day the next day.

If my memory serves true, there was still a line for Mission Space but only my son was riding it so myself and my younger DSes played in the play area which was pretty uncrowded compared to last time we were there.

See, that's an example of the little things no one takes into consideration-the Mission Space play area. We got to do every little thing in that play area while we waited for my son. And when he was done and saw how uncrowded it was he went through most of the room too.

We did the same thing at Test Track and Spaceship Earth. A kinda smelling the roses scenario. :flower: :flower: :flower:

My DH & I just got back from WDW on Monday. We did all the evening EMH. MK (August 5th) was fine. While there were a lot of people wandering around the park, we found we were able to get onto any ride within 5 minutes or less. The ONLY ride that had a long line was Space Mountain (said 30 minutes, but we weren't interested in the ride so we're not sure how long it was). Crowds started thinning out at about midnight. MK stayed open to all resort guests until 2am. We were there for the whole thing.

Epcot EMH (August 4th) was fine. Soarin was the only one that had a long line...at about 45 minutes. Everything else was walk immediately on. Test Track was closed due to a storm that was going on. Crowds were low, but I believe that was partially due to the rain that night. We stayed the entire time.

MGM EMH (August 7th) was pretty crowded. Everything that was open had long lines. I was surprised to see MGM a heck of a lot more busier than MK during the evening EMH, especially since MK's day had wonderful weather, and MGM's day had a lot of rain all afternoon. We wound up leaving MGM soon after EMH started and we didn't ride anything.

Though we're partial to the e-ride nights, EMH wasn't as bad as I have been reading so many times on this board. We were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves enjoying everything we wanted to.

Call me crazy, but doesn't Spectromagic begin at the hub on Main Street and end right next to Splash Mountain? I remember last Sept/Oct sitting above the train station and watching it start from there. I'm pretty sure.
