Share your excitement about an upcoming trip...

I forgot...

DD did so well on her report card we let her pick a dinner. Of course she picked Chef Mickey's!! We have never been, and I'll have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of buffets, but I'm really looking forward to it now.

I figure if all alse fails, I'll make a huge sundae at the ice cream bar!!! (I think I do recall there is one, right?)

I'd love to share my excitement with people who get it!
So far PS' for:
Cindy's Breakfast ( :Pinkbounc)
PSB
Spoodles Dinner
'Ohana Dinner
50' PTC Late Lunch

Planning for:
HOB
Restaurant Akershus Dinner

Deciding on:
Resort Brunch for last day- Boma?
One more Epcot restaurant - ?

This is our family's first trip. August is coming, and my PSs have been made (for a 5-day trip):

Chef Mickey's dinner
Princess Storybook Breakfast
Teppenyaki Dinner
Cape May Dinner
WCC Lunch
50's lunch for my Birthday.

Also hope to do:

Rose & Crown or San Angel for Lunch
A turkey leg in MK.
Getting "what pigs" stares at Beaches and Cream while we eat a kitchen sink! (That will be our lunch....:smooth: )

We've finally come to the realization that food is the most important thing to us on vacation. I'm sure we won't be disappointed.

LOL- I have come to that conclusion myself. I mean, once I am there I LOVE the rides, the atmosphere, the music....but before we go I find myself obsessing with where we are going to eat!

I'm a bit of a chowhound myself (for definition, check out chowhound.com), and naturally the thought of having so many potentially great restaurants in one area makes me wonder if heaven really is a place on earth... :p But here are the PSs that I've made so far (Oct. 16-20):

Teppanyaki dinner
Kona Cafe breakfast (because the Tonga Toast sounds killer!)
Afternoon Tea at the GF (I MUST have my scones and Devonshire cream)
Wolfgang Pucks Cafe dinner (after Cirque)
Cape May Cafe character breakfast
Restaurant Marrakesh dinner (Anything involving lamb and couscous is okay with me)
Spoodles breakfast (even if they did remove the "mediterranean" items)
Citricos dinner (to celebrate my boyfriend's bday!)

We're also hoping to squeeze in:

Turkey legs
Dole whips
lunch at 50's PT
some Food & Wine Festival bites
Snake Bite of me, Black & Tan for my BF at Rose & Crown
Kringle at Kringla
Anything from the Boardwalk Bakery

So excited!!! :bounce:

Going the last week of August and looking forward to eating anything I want (I've also been very good about eating healthy lately) - and not counting calories, carbs, fat grams - nothing!:D

So far I only have 2 PS's booked - one at 50's Prime Time and breakfast at CRT. I'm so undecided on the others, there's just too many to choose from!:D

New for us this August:

Rose and Crown for dinner (hope we get the patio!)
Marrakesh for dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch (I have only been for dinner in 93)
San Angel for lunch (only been for dinner in 93-10 years wow!)
Artists Point for dinner
House of Blues for dinner

Places we have been before but are looking forward to again:

Brown Derby for lunch
Rainforrest Cafe for lunch
Chefs de France for lunch
Boma for dinner
Plaza Restaurant for lunch or dinner
Casey's

We LOVED the Sunrise Safari and the breakfast afterwards-have an awsome time!

We ate at Columbia in Celebration and it was very good. I had a salad with shrimp-it was one of their special salads.

We are going in December with the in-laws and our 3 kids (DD7, DS turning 5 and DS 19 months). So far we have PS' for:

LTT - DS's 5th birthday, followed by MVMCP
Hoop De Doo

Mommy Poppins- I think you will like several of the restaurants you chose! We did and we went to 5 on your list! My Buzz fan loved Pizza Planet!! The pizza was ok, but my son really thought it was the REAL Pizza Planet and that was fun. ;)

My August Trip-
getting our marriage license
eating a dole whip
going to E-Night
smelling the smells of WDW

My October Trip-
getting married at the wedding pavilion:)
being at Epcot with all of my family members
staying lagoon view concierge at the Poly!!!!!!!

Alice42-
Oooooooh that sounds so great. We almost got married at WDW, but 9/11 happened while we were planning and we decided not to as people were nervous about travel then. We had a Feb. '02 wedding here in CT that was lovely anyhow, but I'm so happy for you!!!

Also to add:

My favorite spring rolls from Wolfgang Puck (not to mention their sushi...which may even be better than my favorite beloved California Grill).

Yum cant wait to get there!
I am really looking forward to Boma, It sounds so good on theses boards.

Rose and crown ...great food and of course try for an out side seat.

Kona cafe,...... After all the talk I just have to try the tonga toast. Im thinking it could be too sweet for me though.

Marrikesh,..... I think they have the best lamb.

CRT for our 30th Ann. after a nice carriage ride at FW. I heard they had really good food, and hey its the castle!

We are also going to try:
Tonys
Mama Melrose, &
Garden Grill.

My turn to share, my turn to share!!!

For my August trip with my former college roomate we have the following PS

Flying Fish Cafe-dinner (Never been, really looking forward to it)
Grand Floridian Cafe- Lunch (we might cancel this one, our plans seem to be changing)
Les Chefs de France-lunch (I love this place, I go there every trip, but my friend has never been)
Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Dinner package

I'm also hoping to do:
Plaza resturant at MK
Prime Time 50's for dessert (I hear the smores are awesome)

It looks like I'll have one day on my own that I plan on checking out all the resorts. Does anyone have any good lunch suggestions at one of the resorts?

Thanks for letting me share! Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have never been, but if I were doing the resort touring, I would do a late lunch at bomas.
Lunch cost less then dinner.
Then you could walk around and check out the animals in the late afternoon when they start moving around after resting in the heat all day.

Ok, unless something else changes(again), here's the final list-

Character Breakfasts:
Chef Mickey's*, Princess Storybook*, Cindy's*

Dinners:
Restaurant Akershus
Chefs De France*
'Ohana*
50's PTC
Cosmic Rays or Plaza*
Spoodles*

Lunches:
Whispering Canyon*
Casey's
Tusker House*

*Never been, excited to try

We are particularly excited about our November trip because for the first time we will be more than just the two of us--my brother, nephew, sister-in-law and her mom are coming too, and I am doing my best to plan a trip they will never forget. We are making meal plans with an eye toward places that will be fun as a group.

We are definitely going to Chef Mickey's for breakfast (first time for DH and me). 'Ohana for dinner, '50s Primetime, Boma, Artist Point and GF Tea. Also, we will be in Epcot for last day of Food and Wine Festival.

"Musts" for each trip include Dole Whips and Skol Brods (School Bread) from Kringala Bakery, as well as Kona Coffee Press Pots from the Kona Cafe. We are also going to try some of the counter service places in World Showcase for the first time.

Thanks everyone for sharing--I get so many great ideas from all of you.
