People keep asking, and I certainly wanted to know in advance. So I thought we needed a dedicated Dreams view thread.

The first night we waiting for 90 minutes before show time to be in the center of the hub for the show. By that time there were already lots of people waiting and filling the whole area at the front of the hub and in front of the castle.

We had a perfect, direct view. (Red circle on my aerial image) But be warned with 5 mintues to go people hopped the fence and got in the flower bed in front of us. They stayed down luckily, but if they'd been a little bit ruder they wouldn't have. Also during the show we had people pushing in. After a 90 minute wait it was a little annoying.

So the second time we watched the show we just rocked up with 15 minutes to go and got the best spot we could. And to be honest our view was pretty much similar. Just at the entrace to Frontierland. We waitied where the blue circle is and then during the show had to move out to where the blue X is on the second photo, as people decided to stand on the bench where I've put the red X.....

The bench is a pretty good spot, but I'm not sure how long in advance you'd need to get there to get it.

I've not got my photos from the trip uploaded yet, but I'll do so and add it to this thread.

Also - benefit of the Frontierland spot? You're right by the Liberty Aracde entrance and we beat all the crowds down Main Street.

We didn't have the patience to wait for hours before viewing.

First night we were in the road, to the right hand side of the hub, just opposite the entrance to Discoveryland. I thought the view was great. We waited about half an hour, but there are always latecomers and they did stand in front of us. But, unlike most shows where this can happen, I think we still had a really good view, as the Castle is quite elevated.

Second time, just as we came out of Discoveryland, we turned right, and stood just opposite the Annual Passport Office, by the fence. Another great view. Again people beside, in front, but again a great view with the height of the Castle.

Do you want photos posted here, or do we not want to incase is spoils the surprise for some?

Yes, I actually think you are better watching Dreams from a bit further back. After once watching from right in front of the castle I felt many of the laser effects were lost.

Julie did Lewis see everything okay from your 2 spots? I can usually see fine but I'm a bit concerned my DD won't see so well as she's smaller than I am.

thanks for this!!! we had heard the frontierland area is good - is it busy tho???

with 2 young children, i want them to have a good view as poss but obviously waiting 90 mins isnt an option - even 30 mins wud b pushing for them..... and i cant lift them up as theres just me, and im a short **** lol

looking forward to it, but also prepared to b stuck down main street......

Beware - I have read that if you go too far down Main St you don't such a good experience. View is apparently fine but they don't have speakers half way down so you can't hear the music as well and the lights from the shops etc nearby apparently spoil it too.

Just going off what I've read, but thought I would pass it on.

I do think it's one of those things that you don't need to be on top of to get a good view, in fact probably the opposite.

Contrary to what was originally thought re the VIP viewing area not being in the best place, I have read positive reviews recently about it being a very good spot esp as you only need to be there 30 mins beforehand . We are doing one VIP meal this trip so I will report back!

Yes, he did Elaine. The first night it was bit more crowded in the area we were in, and DH picked him up a couple of times, but in the main he was ok.

See picture below, where you'll everyone standing in front of us. I wasn't elevated at all when I took this picture and am about 5'5".

I think if it was very busy, then smaller people might find it harder to see.

Second night, near Annual Pass office, we stood by a fence. There was a bin to the side, and Lewis sat on this, but there was loads of space to the right of me and he could probably have watched sitting down on the ground, as this part of the area was on a slight slope, going down towards the seats at the stage to the right of the castle.

Actually, looking at these side by side, it's hard to see a difference between being nearer Central Plaza on the first night and over the right, at Discoveryland for the second night. The main difference was the viewpoint of the characters. On the first night we saw both sides of the castle, with the water projections very clearly. On the second night, when we saw Wendy, who is at the right, she looked like she was directly in front of the castle. We didn't see King Louie very well either. But, the overall effect was absolutely amazing on both nights, and as Steve Davison said in his interview, they've put loads of hidden things in the show, that will only ever be seen at certain angles. I think this is a great idea, to give a different experience each time.

def gonna b trial n error...... we will have to go where ever we can get a spot, as i dont want to b one of those ppl turnin up at last minute and pushing their way thru!!

BUT, i also dont c y we shud b penalised with a bad view just because ds2 is disabled.....

im hopin to get sum internet whilst over there, so will try n keep up with the reviews to find a good place without too much waiting....

I am sorry; I am very familiar with WDW, but I am a newbie for DLRP. I did not think that advanced dining reservations were very necessary since we will be there in January. I had planned to book them some time in December. Do I need to book a VIP meal now.

For the moment it's only until the end of September and like every other meal at DLP it's bookable at earliest 60 days before

Lilacgems - we go this weekend - our meal is booked for Tues (I think!).

TLH - the Dinner & Dreams VIP meal is basically a set meal (choice of two of starter & main) at certain restaurants for a set price. You then get a wrist band which gives you access to a VIP/private area to watch Dreams - it is a roped off area to the side I believe. Initially a lot of people said the area seemed too far away etc but I have since read on other sites that actually it is a good spot especially as you can roll up, up to 30 minutes before show start. Many people are stalking a spot up an hour + before so it is a huge advantage.

The menu is quite limited but OK for us. Think it is 40 euro for an adult.

We like the idea as we have young children so can't wait around for an hour + and we wanted to eat at the restaurant anyway.

Having said all that, they are only confirmed to run until September some time. No confirmation of whether it will be continued after that time. So you couldn't book yet.

In addition, it should be quite quiet in the park in January, so I would think easier to get a general spot for Dreams without queuing too long, so it might not be necessary anyway.
