DH and I each went to WDW as kids, but it wasn't until we had our own kids that we truly fell in love with Disney. Our oldest said many times that she wanted to go, so finally, when she was 7 and our son was 2, we planned a big trip. We were like, "Let's just go so we can say we've gone and cross it off the 'things to do with your kids' list.'". Boy, were we surprised lol.
By our second day there, we had decided that we were rebooking. By our fourth day there, we had forgotten what day it was, and all of the cares of the real world had fallen away
. It really was magical. We've been back every year since, and are 55 days away from our next trip. Disney is a part of our everyday lives now. We play Disney trivia (which is still fun even when you all know the answers), quote Disney movies constantly, listen to Sorcerer Radio daily, and constantly have a countdown chain for our next trip. We start planning dining and itineraries for our next trip while on our way home from Disney, and have helped at least a dozen of our friends and their fams plan Disney trips.
We are just as excited for our upcoming trip as we were for our first. Maybe even more so because we KNOW what we have to look forward to. My DH and I joke that we'll be the funny little old couple ambling around Disney long after our kids are grown and have their own fams
