Share a PhotoPass DVD! deadline MARCH29th 2008:Just ordered!

gopherlawyer, you need just one more post to be able to PM

I've been in several of these shares, and I've tried to help others where I can, and there's a few things here that aren't typical, and I just wanted to ask a few questions to clarify in case some of the people involved are new. :goodvibes Also, I might just learn something new myself!

It sounds like the first photopass was added to the online account on Feb. 29, right? So, the order will be placed on March 29, because that's the first day that photos will start expiring, right? OK, that part sounds fine.

Normally, the account log on information is given to all the group members and they add their own photopass card numbers and then do their own edits. Are you having people send their info to you for you to enter? Why?

Note that one of the main advantages of the Photopass is to be able to enhance the photos with the special icons and signatures, and I really can't imagine that very many people would only want the original photos. I can vouch for the fact that editing the photos online is very slow. I mean so slow that I've spent probably 16 hours editing my photos over the course of a week when I started with about 300 photos. That's an average of 3 minutes per photo which I think is very realistic. In my experience, you really need to wait about a week after the last person returns from the trip to order the CD in order to allow time to get all the edits done. I guess the dates listed could work as long as the ones on March 28 don't plan to do any edits. :confused3 But, I'd think the cutoff for the last trip date would need to be around March 22.

I'm also confused when you say all the photos will be on one DVD. The only DVD that Disney sends is a PhotoMovie which does not include files of the photos that you can print yourself. It is just a DVD movie incorporating the photos on the online account. Obviously, this is not what you want, and hopefully not what you're planning to order. What you want to order is the Photo CD, and Disney will send as many CD's as it takes for all the photos in the online account. About 400 photos fit on each CD usually, although that could change. Perhaps you plan to burn DVD's instead of CD's for the group members because a DVD holds more photos, and that's the 1 DVD that you're referring to.

If you want in on this share, you MUST NOT make an account of your own. Once you link your card with an account, it can not be linked to another account!

I'm going to be ordering photo CD's but will be sending out DVD's.
Anyone who wants to modify their pictures will be allowed to do so once I add the photopass to the account. I do not like the idea of giving out my account and password to anyone who asks for it...

I'm trying to give people the ability to get their raw/edited photos for cheap. If a person wants to edit their photo, they are free to do so. Those with later end dates won't have a chance to do their edits, but they'll be getting a dvd for super cheap.

Thank you for this. Actually, based on this info... I think I will decline being a part of this photo pass share. It sounds like I would not be able to edit the photos... which I did not really understand before. Also, I like the idea of everyone being able to enter their own information.

We're going this weekend for DD's 6th b-day. If they actually take any pictures of us, I'd love to join. When we went for my b-day, I was there three days and didn't get one picture taken. Can I let you know next Monday?

Question - how would we be able to edit our photos if you don't share the log in info? Or are you saying that you will provide access once our photos are added to the account?

Zoe: Sure

got2travel: anyone who gives me their photopass info will have access to the account. I just do not want to send the login/pass to anyone who asks for it (and decides not to join)

Gotcha. Thanks. I don't know if we'll take a lot of pics, but definitely a few castle ones which I will want to edit.

I would like to join in on this photopass if I can. I tried to PM you but it won't let me yet.....so if you could send me a PM maybe I can replay back to you? We are going 3/17-3/24.

Actually you can. I made that mistake last October and all I did was email disney photopass people and they switched my numbers to the other account. Yes it was a pain but it did work.

I started a new thread for anyone traveling in late march (early april as well!) who wants to be able to edit their photos. I know there is someone else in on this share who is returning late March, so I thought I would mention that.

Hope everyone has a great trip;)

I wanted to be added to this if possible. We will be arriving home on March 14.

Thanks,

Amy

There will be 2 of us so can you just charge me twice??

Jeweladdict -

If I'm understanding this correctly, we will return on March 21. I will give you my photopass number to you and you will add it to your account. I will then have until the 29th to edit them and you order the final copy. You will then copy the cd and send it to me. Is that right?
