New Disney Visa "Inspire" card

I already have a few Chase cards, including the regular Disney Visa. I haven't applied for the Inspire card yet. Chase has put insanely high limits on my current cards. Should I try to lower my credit limit with those cards before I apply for the Inspire card?

How does that work? I specifically asked Chase and they did not mention that. I did request a credit increase after being immediatly approved for Inspire and it was denied due to length of time since card was issued.

In the app click on a card and click "Manage Account" you should then see the option to 'Move Credit Line"
I just did this today. It was super easy and immediate.

If you dont need the credit, and you dont have balances on those cards, I would yes.

Chase has an unwritten rule that it doesn't typically extend more than ~50% of your annual income across card limits. If you are well over 50% I would cut hoping for an instant approval. If you are under you can always apply and if the application goes 7 - 10 days/denied for too much credit extended you can recon and ask to move credit limit from a more mature account to open the new one.

Have you already received your card? I applied a few days ago and can see the account listed when I log in but it is not an option when I click into move credit line. My card has shipped so Im hoping Ill be able to move the credit soon before I need to make payment.

Mine took a few days before I could move any of my credit line to it. The first few times I checked I could not, but after a few days it was an option.

you can move credit lines between personal cards.
I’m always learning useful information from DISboards! We have the Premier too, and we were going to call Chase to move that credit limit to our new Inspire. After we’re sure we’ve paid it all off, we’ll close the Premier. It’s good to know we can move the credit line via the app instead of calling.

Just hunted around Chase to see if I could lower my limits on my other cards, but there is no way to do it online. Even their search feature was baffled by my request 😂 . I decided to apply for the Inspire and they approved the Inspire immediately with yet another insane limit. I'll probably have to email or call them to get these limits down.

Secure message in the website works to request it.

My first Disney Visa was right before I started looking into DVC and I told my husband.. Chase gave me a limit so high it’s like they are begging me to buy DVC with it!

Yes, it's a great way to keep larger credit lines!

It also works with business credit cards if someone has those, but you can't move personal credit limit to business cards and vice versa. It has to stay within personal OR business cards.

Funny enough though Chase looks at both personal and business credit limits when determining if you have ~50% of your income extended in credit already. Lots of fun quirks 🤣

I am also curious if anyone has has credit cycling issues with the Chase Disney card. I dont make make many huge purchases my self but know from others that credit cycling is very much a thing and can get your card cancelled.
My guide acted like I was crazy and said he had never heard of that and charges cards every 7 days all the time. Im wondering if its ignored because it is a Disney purchase.
Chase doesn’t care what type of charge it is. Credit cycling can be done yes, should it be done? No, unless you are fine with potentially getting shut down by Chase. And when they shut down they don’t just shut down that one card they have been known to shut down all cards held and sometimes even bank accounts.

This is my first Disney Visa…if anyone knows what it will look like and where to find it, I will dig around for it tonight.
On cards like the CSR if you navigate to the "rewards activity" portal, click "manage rewards," and navigate to "card benefits," it lists everything and actually has a tracker for things like the $300 travel credit:

I searched high and low and I do not see anything like this yet for the Disney Inspire Visa. You can click "card details" in the "rewards activity" portal and navigate to "card benefits," but it only lists generic terms and redirects you to a separate webpage advertising the card when you click "learn more." No trackers... yet

This scares me! Like I said-my guide was planning large charges, just under the cards limit every 10 days to get it paid within the new 45 day closing time. I mentioned to him that this was definitly credit cycling and made me very nervous. He acted like I wasnt making sense and said he does it everyday for years now. That most people get lower limitis with the Disney Chase cards and that its more common than not to charge every week or so within the closing frame. Im guessing this is only getting worse with the DVC shortening the closing time frames.
I want the extra rewards from the Inspire so Im hoping in a few more days I am able to move the limits from other cards otherwise I dont know what to do now.
