I just returned from WDW 10/20 and while watching the MK parade I noticed the last float didn't have any snowglobes. The princesses and their prince's were standing on the float, it looked like the snowglobes had been broken off. Any one else notice this? Also at AK the Lion King show there's no fire twirler any more? And in MGM, Little Mermaid I know the show has been shortened but was it again? Just wondering if it's my memory or have these changes really occured.

I thought the removal of the globes was only temporary -guess not. I think the parade looks a lot less magical w/o the globes. But if it makes it safer for CMs then it was a needed change.

I noticed the snowglobe thing too when we went in August. But there was definitely a fire twirler in Festival of the Lion King.

The "princess float" that they are currently using in the Share A Dream Come True Parade is actually the lead float from the old Remember the Magic Parade (and has been used in various other parades). The Princess float was pulled from the parade after the accident and has only partially returned. Cinderella, her fairy godmother and Prince Charming are on a portion of the original float. They unattached the last two section (were Ariel and Eric and Belle and Beast) were and they are sending that float out as a single unit. With the removal of that float it did add Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and her Prince to the parade (they were not there before).

It was also after the accident that they stop doing the show stops because the float it different. The Princess' do not have a dance to do for a show stop (as they were in their snowglobes) and the float is not set up for the show stop music so, the parade runs all the way through no longer stopping for the kids to come out and play.

I'm glad I've already seen it a couple of times and took pictures. It doesn't sound like it is as nice as it was. I'm not much of a parade person but I liked this one, I thought the Princess globes were so pretty. I guess I can understand why they made the change but I'm still glad I saw it the way it originally was.
