Shaping up for 2.0

Is anyone on here weight training to help with their weight loss? If not, you should consider it. It is a major component to fat loss. Just sayin' :thumbsup2

I need to start adding that in.

So cool! I am going to keep doing them.

(hhmmm... I don't suppose that means I can eat something yummy while I am at rest? No, I guess not!)

Yup, how about an orange?

I didn't start right after the last cruise, but have been working on it for about 16 weeks and lost 30 pounds, was up and down over the holidays. Now, I'm in the get back on track mode.

well I've started insanity and started my diet. Today is day 4! I'm following the diet plan pretty closely. I only slipped a little bit by getting a drink at the club last night, but I was also dancing all night(and it was only 1 drink). I know it takes a while to stimulate ur metabolism, so I'm just remaining patient. The key with this program is you might not lose weight, but you gain definition by converting the fat to muscle. I'll keep everyone updated.

Stick with it!! Best of luck. :thumbsup2

 Hi!

I saw Shanan this weekend and she mentioned this thread so here I am! (Hi Shanan... love ya! :) )

I received a Wii Fit for Christmas and started doing it on Christmas night. After the first week, I was down 4 pounds. 10 days later, I joined Weight Watchers. Since Christmas, I've lost just over 13 pounds. I work out every day for at least an hour and I haven't skipped a day since New years Day. :cool1: I am mad crazy about the points I eat every day and I recently learned that I need to eat more to lose weight (crazy, I know!).

I'm also part of Biggest Loser 9 on the W.I.S.H boards! Great group of peeps over there!

I have a doctors appointment with my Lupus doctor at the end of the month (ooooh, I think it's this week. Better check my calendar)... if he gives me the :thumbsup2, I am going to start C25k training on February 1st. I was a long distance runner in the past and I have missed running since being diagnosed with Lupus.... but, I am tired of telling people I am "chubby" because I have Lupus... and I am tired of Lupus defining who I am. I am done being "Ann, the girl with Lupus so she is chubby and can't exercise"... from this point on, I am going to be, "Ann... the runner and fit chick who just happens to have Lupus."

My first goal is running a 5k with my dad at the end of July.

Thanks for listening! I am really excited about my new way of life!

Do you credit the Wii Fit for the weight loss or a change of eating habits? How much time do you spend Wii-ing?

I love your new way to describe yourself. You are doing great!

That is awesome! I wanna be right along with you!!

I am hoping to religiously do the C25K app once it is a tad bit warmer too. I started doing it in November and got up to week 3, then it started to snow. My mom and I have been going and running on and off depending on the temp outside.

I really need to tone up my core muscles though, they are extremely weak!

Anyone know any great workouts to do for core? Pilates is pretty good right?

I credit both (the Wii and my change of eating habits) for my weight loss. I gave up sugar (I used to have coffee WITH my sugar and creamer.... now just coffee and a splash of cream) and I also gave up ALL carbonated drinks. Including my beloved Mountain Dew (sobbing a little). I also gave up fried foods (chips, french fries, etc).

I do an hour to an hour and a half on the Wii every day. I do a mixture of Wii Fit, Biggest Loser, Golds Gym (boxing), AE Sports Active and now Just Dance. As soon as I get my doctors okay, I will drop my Wii workouts to an hour a day and do the C25k too. :cheer2:

I'm coming to the unfortunate realization that I may just be too old to be in really good shape anymore without dedicating unrealistic time and effort into it. I'm in decent shape for a 42 year old, but maintaining it is getting harder and harder. :headache:

Tough realization, Paul. Life is too short to spend, as you put it, unrealistic time and effort. I have an idea that you are not the type of person who will ever really let yourself go.

Work on maintaining good health. Eat well. Put in 30 - 60 minutes a day with good aerobic activity and strength training. Spend time on other enjoyable activities with your family and friends.

Life is good! :goodvibes

im running about 4.5 miles a day 5 times a week and doing weightwatchers. still trying to get off the last 20 lbs (the holidays were rough for my weightloss goal!) so now im back on track yay:goodvibes

Spent Saturday in Portland with a good friend. We ate well and with only slight abandon.

We agreed to do weekly weigh-ins together and be accountable to each other. Not sure yet if it wil be competition or cooperation. A little of each, maybe.

Wish us well! :goodvibes

Wow! So since I finally purchased a scale I have lost 15 lbs! I guess just hopping on it every day to check is making me more aware of my snack habits ;). I hope this keeps up! I would like to lose another 50 by December, but to get there I know I will have to start really working hard! Hope everyone is staying on track! :grouphug:

So I say try it, you might like it!
