Shaping up for 2.0

I rested yesterday due to busy Sunday schedule - unable to walk. This morning, I walked 2.8 miles.

Oh, my! I realized that I am far more active on weekends. I do fitness things on weeknights unless I have to work late. I should do something on lunch break on work late days, but I don't.

I am going to continue writing down what I eat. Every "bite, lick, and taste". I like almonds - but it is too easy to eat too many out of the bag! I need to portion control them.

I am still convinced that I will lose weight. My scale keeps moving up and down a few pounds every day, so I don't know if I really have lost weight. But I am working on it!

My scale keeps moving up & down also. This morning it said I lost 5lbs this past week, I won't believe it until it holds there for more than 1 day or goes down.

We had my son's birthday party on Saturday, and then the traditional Sunday brunch at my in-laws on Sunday, so it wasn't great, but I did at least just try to take a bite of this and a nibble of that, rather than stuffing my face.

I was down 3 pounds when I did my weigh in, so that is good.

I've been doing good at getting my exercising in, whether it be strength or walking. Still need to work on getting my low back muscles stronger, though.

Sounds like everyone had a good weekend. Mine was so/so. I tried not to eat too much of the bad stuff, but I had some.

This week is going to be crazy too.

Congrats to everyone who lost weigh this week!!!

I have not run in a couple pf days but I did more physical work at work on Saturday then I have done in a long time. We moved and planted 400 shurbs and perennials. I could not move on Sunday. My wife and I are going to run tonight. We may have to go to the rec center because of the rain though.

Congrats to all of you that have lost weight!:cheer2::cheer2:
Everyone's efforts are great, keep it up! :thumbsup2
I have been lost without my car, been home a week and a half and have not been able to get to the gym.
I wanted to walk on the weekend, but had a funeral to attend, which kept me hopping.
Today is a total go here go there day for me.
I have to take DH to work as I need his truck. So it looks like no exercise for me this week either.
Tomorrow is my wiegh in day!
However on the upside I have been right on track with my food, and choosing lots of veggies and friut. :thumbsup2

My "small goal" for the week is to limit mindless snacking.

Anyone want to join me?

walked 1.75 miles this morning. Our walk path was being resurfaced so, we were limited on where we could walk. I managed to drink 8 glasses of water today. I was brought a Free lunch today that contained a huge sandwich, chips, cookies, and an orange. It was so much food that I have split it into two lunches and breakfast for tomorrow.

Just signed up for a local 5K. That should give me some motivation!

That's awesome, Don!

I plan on doing Race for the Cure in Knoxville in October. We did it last year too. I had hoped to actually run some of it this year, and I am not sure my foot will let me. :( I'll be there even if I walk.

I actually did really well last week, stayed within my calorie count every day but Saturday. Had to go to a wedding and nothing at a wedding is low cal LOL...

I also worked 30-60 minutes a day and John and I bought bikes on Friday night so we rode yesterday about 3-4 miles. This will give us one more activity to get us up and moving I hope. I enjoyed it and it didn't feel like exercise.

So overall I was pretty happy with what I did for week #2

:woohoo:

I am so glad this thread was started. I jumped on the scale (well not really cause it would of broke) and lo and behold I have lost 6.6lbs. I am writing everything that goes in my mouth down and have started exercizing again.

WTG! That rocks!

Seeing it on paper really does make a difference, doesn't it?

I would not have been able to move either! I deep cleaned both bathrooms on Sunday, and my legs are still hurting.

Good luck at WI!! Keep up the great work! You have been doing great with what you have control of...that's all we can do!

Great goal! How's it going?

I have been doing very well with eating so far this week, but still no structured exercise. I don't know what my problem is. One step at a time though...I'm not going to look at it as all or nothing which has been a problem for me before.

Find a friend to go out with you to walk, run or whatever you choose, it makes it a whole lot easier and helps with the motivation when there is someone there to get you going. Start out small then add a little each day. Don't try to do it all on the first time out or you will fail. Just think of your prize at the end of the 18 months the Cruise with all of us. We are here to support you too.

ABSOLUTELY!!! :thumbsup2 We are all here to support each other, through the good and bad weeks (which I'm sure we're all going to have)! I had a rough start this week myself, but I'm working to get back on track for the rest of the week. And putting my deposit down tonight on the cruise was a big help in reminding me why I'm doing this! I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone on the cruise!:surfweb:

Great goal! I know I also need to add more water to my diet. I'm not drinking enough. I find that I just keep so busy that I do drink as much as I should.

If anyone here trying to shape up for PCC 2.0 is watching what they eat you will want to take a look at this link 2009 Extreme Eating Awards

Now that I count my calories it constantly amazes me what is in some of the foods I would eat without thinking and what you think is ok really isn't. Restaurants are awful about the amount of calories in their food. If you haven't seen it check out Eat this Not that series of books, it is a huge eye opener as to the calorie counts of so many things and at least gives you some alternatives..

I am such a wuss. I did manage to get down to the workout room in the hotel but only managed 10 minutes on the bike. I need to get better shoes these are too tight and my foot was getting numb.

Oh well, that's 10 more minutes than I usually do.

These are FANTASTIC books! You can get them at your local library.

I am also using "CalorieKing Calorie, Fat & Carbohydrate Counter". A small paperback with a lot of data. The first dozen pages are just common sense information about eating and good nutrition. No weird diets. Just consume fewer calories than you burn in your every day life and exercise.

We went running last night and went 2.5 miles. I am hoping that we will be ready for the 5k in late june that we have signed up for.

T

I walked 2 miles this morning. I am now drinking my 3rd 32oz cup of water. I think I am floating away....:boat:

O.K. just thought I would post my results..
I lost another 1/2lb. this week, which is great since I did not get any exercise in. :thumbsup2
So that is a total of 11 pounds in 2 months, with a 2 week vacation in there.:cool1:
I did not measure today, but will do that tomorrow. :thumbsup2
I can't wait to get some wheels so I can go to the gym again.
