Shape-up shoes....

I have had the Reebok Easy Tone shoes and loved them. I really don't see they do much "shaping up" or "toning" but they do feel nice on your feet. I'm in the market for a new pair as well and am planning a visit to the local stores this weekend. :thumbsup2

I have these as well and I agree that I don't think they tone anything but they are nice on your feet.

One thing I have noticed about the shape up shoes is that because the sole is so much bigger you have to pick up your feet higher to walk, which might be why people have having knee pain. Also, the design of the shoes is to make you use your leg muscles more, thus, they are not as sable of a shoe as a traditional shoe SO, if you have mobility issues, these are NOT a good choice.

For the OP, I would caution you to wear them a LOT around the house before you venture out in them if you have ankle issues. In the long run they may be a great thing for you but you are going to feel these shoes in your ankles if they are not strong to start.

Thanks everyone, I can't wait to try them! I also ordered the Fitflops Walkstar to try! I'm really hopeful these will help my ankles somewhat, its really horrible to try to walk any type of distance or walk for several hours with my ankles, also thinking about making an apt. with the Dr. for a x-ray to see what could be going on.

For anyone with the Shape-ups or planning on getting the Shape-ups (I'm talking the ones with the thicker bottom)...it is VERY important that you walk heal first. You should be rocking your foot. Heal, rock forward to the toes. This will alleviate the knee pain. If you don't walk in them correctly, you will have pain.

There should be a DVD with the shoes which will show you the proper way to walk in them. And for anyone thinking "why do I have to walk different in these shoes?"...this is actually the way we should always be walking in sneakers, but we tend not to. If you can retrain yourself to walk the right way (in all your sneakers), it will help to alleviate much of the ankle, knee and back pains we have.

I just bought a pair of the Sketcher's Shape Up sandals for my upcoming trip to WDW. There was a DVD in the box. I haven't watched it yet though...

They have just come out with a lot of cute summer styles.

I found a pair of Reebok Easy Tone at Ross today for $50. I'm certainly not looking to replace my gym with a pair of shoes, but if they are comfortable and help me burn even a few more calories, I'll take that.
