Ok...I think I'm going to bite the bullet and order a pair.

My ankles are in bad shape and I can't walk long at all without sharp, burning pain (Disney was a nightmare last year because of my poor ankles).

Not sure which one is the best, I'm looking at sketchers and notice they have many different kinds.

Can someone shed some light here, on which ones you have or have tried and if they really helped. Hate to drop $100 bucks, but, hate not being able to walk any length of time worse. Thanks

Got mine at Payless for $30, love them. They aren't sketchers, I like them anyway.

Also thinking of buying Shape-Ups but I don't know where to start! I walk 3 miles about 4x a week in addition to walking around Disney, etc. and I need new shoes anyway.

Love my Sketchers! They are very comfortable. I wore them to WDW in November and they were great!!!!

The price has come down quite a bit. In fact, my Costco was selling them for $49 last week.

I LOVE my Sketchers Shape Ups. I wore them to Disney along with Therlo socks. I also used Body Glide. I never had any foot pain OR blisters the entire trip. That was a first!

I have had the Reebok Easy Tone shoes and loved them. I really don't see they do much "shaping up" or "toning" but they do feel nice on your feet. I'm in the market for a new pair as well and am planning a visit to the local stores this weekend. :thumbsup2

Have you ever tried them on? The soles are WAY to squishy for me.

I would recommend going to a running specialty store. (I go to Fleet Feet.) They will evaluate your feet and walk and let you know what the best shoe for you is.

Yep, my brother (he's an ultra-runner) told me to go to Fleet Feet, but I haven't yet.

Seriously, best money I ever spent on shoes. I walk/run 20ish miles per week, and I never get blisters or anything anymore.

The 1st pair they put me in was causing arch pain, so I went back after 2 weeks, and they exchanged them for me. :thumbsup2 Which reminds me, I need to head over there, it's about time to replace my current pair.

!

This is where I got mine. I've had them about a month, and they've been great. Whenever I've tried to do power walking in the past, I have had to stop because I got really bad shin splints, tightness in my shins and calf muscles. I've had no problem with those, with these shoes. I'm going to Disney in May, and that will be the real test. Usually, my feet problem isn't a result of blisters or walking, its from standing. That's when the pain gets me, so I'm curious to see how these hold up to that.

I have been wearing Skechers Shape-ups and Tone-ups for a few years now. I absolutely love them and really believe they are worth the price. I had serious pain in my knees and pain in my feet from plantar fascitis. I can't tell you the last time I felt the pain because it has been so long.

The key is to make sure that you walk correctly in them. That may sound silly but when I first got mine, my ankles were sore. You need to place your heel first and rock forward to the toe. I would walk just like I walked in my old sneakers and that was turning my ankles the wrong way.

I had the original chunky looking pair first and wore those all the time at my part-time job where I was on my feet anywhere from 3-9 hours each day. I also wore them when I would walk. I now own the XF (extended fitness) model and still love them. I can walk or jog in those. I also have the Tone-up boots (Chalet) which I wore all winter and loved them; and a pair of the Tone-up flip flops which I also loved. And I have a pair of the XWear which is like a strappy shoe. Those are what I wear now for my part-time retail job. They aren't the cutest, but they are comfy for standing on concrete floors for hours.

I once tried the Reebok Easytone and they were very incomfortable for me. Personally, I'll never go for the knock-offs because I just don't think they are made the same as the original. So it will always be Skechers for me.

Specifically I'm looking at either the Shape-Ups Toners or the Tone-Ups. They aren't as bulky as the other "fitness shoes." Anyone have them?

I just bought the Tone-ups Fitness last week. They are different from the original Shape-ups, but I'm getting used to them. I can't really review too much because I haven't worn them enough to give an in depth review.

I really enjoy the "walking on a cloud" feeling from the original model and yes, they did take a little while to get used to them, but once I did, they were amazing. They just made my feet feel wonderful.

:thumbsup2 Same here. I wore mine to Disney and my feet & back were fine the whole time. Never had any soreness. I got them on sale at Kohl's and had a coupon so I paid around $60. Worth every cent. I actually have 2 pair :)

I ended up getting a pair from Zappos for around 70 bucks, they are the Shape Ups SRR - Resistor. I'm really hoping these will help my ankle pain/burning!

I have had them a year.... I absolutely loved them.. wore them everywhere.
Then my knees really started to hurt. I admit I am very overweight, so that may be part of the problem. I did not wear them for awhile, even though I love the way they feel on my feet. I wore them again last week, and my knees started hurting bad again.

So, just wanted you to know of that possible side effect.

I bought the Mickey-head Fit-Flops in the parks and they are my favorite Disney shoes - very comfortable!

Fit Flops are great!!

There are several threads about Fit Flops on the Dis and you can find them through a search. I wore Fit Flops on our last trip and I can't imagine going back to wearing any other shoe.

If you do opt for Fit Flops. break in a pair before wearing them at WDW. If you buy the Mickey ones at the park, you may want to break them in slowly rather than wearing them right away for all day in the parks.

I just bought my dd her 1st pair of Fit Flops at Amazon for $46, a little pricey for her still growing foot but I'm hoping she'll get 2 years out of them and they are worth it for comfort.
