For fast food restraunts, I think Jack in the Box still has the BEST shakes! When I don't get their Oreo cookie shake, I usually ask for vanilla, strawberry and chocolate mixed together - it's heavenly!

OMG ! I didn't know there were still Jack In The Box places around, I'll have to visit one next time i'm in Cal.

change their milkshake formula to triple thick

Wow! Where have I been for the last decade or two? I had no idea they'd ever even made the change from triple thick to, what, single thick? I remember McD's always advertising their shakes as triple thick when I was a kid. Although I rarely order them anymore, I never really noticed a difference over the years.

But I had a nice thick Shamrock Shake last night and it was dee-lish! I don't mind needing to use a spoon with them at first, because they stay cold and creamy longer. I hate when they get all melted and warm at the end.

The only time I ever had a Shamrock Shake was when I was ten years old with my mom after a really great shopping trip.

I threw it up in the parking lot!!

I have never had the courage to try one again -- but I think they sound magic-ly delicious!!

I'm so glad I came across this thread! My DH loves the Shamrock Shakes and I will have to remind him to go get one. I won't tell him that some are saying they taste different and then see if he notices anything.

Aww, I went to 2 McD's here in NYC to get a Shamrock shake, because of this thread. Neither of them had them.

Cold Stone's mint flavored ice cream tastes JUST LIKE the shamrock shakes used to.

I highly recommend them as an alternative, peeps.


ETA: Plus, it's available all year 'round.
