shampoo's and stuff

It has been years since I have flown anywhere and I know there are tons of regulations. Can anyone recommend a place I can look stuff up? I found out I can't gift wrap my daughter's present and put it in the suitcase- big bummer there... I guess I'll have to sneak some paper and tissue in there and wrap when she is out of the room for a bit. Also I understand you can only pack small 3oz bottles of shampoo even in the checked luggage...ugh... I don't need to be stopped. I also am diabetic and have small pen needles I have to bring... I hope there is someplace or someone who I can find out this stuff from!

The 3 oz. maximum is only for carry-on luggage, not for checked luggage.
