Wow! I got more of a response that I anticipated about SoG. For those of you who can help here is my biggest and most important question about that resort.

My father just retired after 26 years in the Airforce, he and my mother are eligible for the Military discounts. I as their child and being almost 21 am no longer concidered a dependant. If Mom or Dad were to make the reservation, does one of them have to go with or would I be able to go without them?

See the thing of it is that they are planning a visit of their own for their anniversary in September but being in College, my friend and I wanted to go in August for my 21st birthday but being college students we don't have a ton of money (I haven't figured out how to grow a money tree yet - I working though:D )

As for the renovation it is nice to know but as long as it's Disney I don't really care if I have to sleep in a parking lot, just to be back there!!!

Thanks for the help,
Minnesota

The eligibe sponsor, your dad, MUST be present when you check in, and all during your stay at SOG.

Bummer. Thanks for the info. It's kind of what I thought.

Actually, the sponsor doesn't have to be present, but someone with a valid dependent ID card does if the sponsor can't/won't be there. :)
