Shades of Green-Poly monorail question

We are doing EMM at MK in December and staying at shades. Trying to figure out the best/easiest way to get there. Can we take the monorail at the poly or is it only for registered poly guests?

of course, you shouldn't park at the Poly and take the monorail but i'm assuming that you're planning to walk from SoG over to the Poly.

We've stayed at shades several times over the years, and found it easiest to walk to the poly and then use their transportation. I timed it last trip, and it took us 8 minutes from the lobby of shades to Capt Cooks at the Poly--and thanks to my franken-foot I'm barley faster than a turtle.

You can't park at the Poly to travel to the parks. Walking in is fine!

You may already know this but just pay attention to the resort monorail start times for the day you're trying to do this. Sometimes it's running early enough for EMM and sometimes not. For example, if you look at this week, there is a Tuesday EMM but the resort monorail does not start running until 8:30 AM. Some of the EMMs have been on Sundays and the resort monorail hours have been tending to start at 7AM or 7:30 AM lately on Sundays. Monorail hours change all the time so make sure to double check the Times Guide when you are on site for the latest. Sorry if you already know the above, just making sure you've accounted for everything. We loved EMM when we did it in July BTW, LOVED it. We were staying at Poly and went on a Sunday, the monorail was running at either 7 or 7:30AM (can't quite remember) so it got us there just fine. If we had gone to the Tuesday one that same week we would have had to figure out alternative transportation.
