Is anyone here from San Fernando Valley? I know Freeway 5 and 101 are always traffic on weekdays.

What time would you recommend for us to leave for Disneyland Resort?

Is the route 101-S to I-5 S ok?

Or will 101-S > 134-E > I-5 S be better?

Does the traffic really get that bad at about 8-9AM?

Thanks For Your Help! :goodvibes

Traffic can be a mess at any time in LA. If you do not have a mobile device that checks traffic you may want to listen to AM 1070 for traffic info. We come from Thousnd Oaks down the 101 and have been taking the 405 to the 605 to the 91. The 405 now has carpool lanes and the 101/5 doesn't so it seems to be a bit faster. With no traffic it is about a 60min drive, in the time frame you are talking about it can range from 90min to about 3 hours if there is an accident at the wrong place.

We come from Santa Clarita which is right north of the San Fernando Valley. Where in the Valley will you be coming from? Depending on how far West you will be from the 5 it might be easier to go through the valley to the 5 instead of 101 to the 5 because the 101 is always a mess.

101S seems to be really bad between 7-10. The 5 seems to be really bad around the same time. Unfortunately, with California traffic, you never know what will happen. From where I am we take the 5 all the way from Santa Clarita to Disney. We have left on a weekday at 9AM and gotten there in about an hour adn a half (very little traffic) and we have left at 10 AM and it's taken us 2 1/2 hours (stop and go a good part of the way).

My advice is to check sigalert.com the morning you are going to leave to get an idea of traffic. There's really no way to predict the traffic

I leave at 9:00 if I'm going on a weekday. 118 to the 5. Traffic is usually pretty decent by then (except right near downtown). I did hit a bad snarl on the 118 / 5 transition once, and ended up taking the 210 to the 2, back to the 5 and it only tacked on a few extra minutes.
