So my boys and I are going to DLP. I quote a reasonable price for SF as well for Cheyenne. We've stayed in Cheyenne and boys liked it. I do know what to expect. On the other hand DS2 is crazy about Cars and McQueen, so maybe SF would be more fun? :confused3

What hotel would you choose?
And is it worth paying extra to stay "near hotel facilities"?

no its not worth paying any extra for either the SF or Cheyenne to be either near hotel facilities, or river-side rooms. Neither hotel is that spread out that you can't reach the river and/or reception within a couple of minutes walk.

You liked the Cheyenne - its a completely different theme to the Santa Fe. I have stayed in both and prefer the Santa Fe, but having bunk beds is not a deal-breaker for me and I actually prefer the divan beds in the Santa Fe compared to the Cheyenne bedframe (mine creaked like mad).

I wouldn't pay extra. We always choose SF, apart from once we stayed at SL. We love it, its enough for us and even nicer now its been refurbished. The walk to the parks is pleasant along the river/lake.

I'm another vote for SF. Yes the outdoor theming is brilliant at the Cheyenne but IMO the pre-refurb rooms at the SF were better then the rooms at the Cheyenne. Will be staying in the SF in October and am looking forward to having a fresh, refurbed room.

Lats trip boys asked for bunk beds but I was the one sleeping in those while they slept in mine :lmao: So I guess "normal" beds would be better for us.

I expect breakfast in SL to be the same as in Cheyenne?

The price difference is just a little bit over 50eur for "hotel facilities", but on the other hand I could add that to our Inventions bill.

yes, breakfast in the SF and Cheyenne are the same.

sorry to hijack this thread, but I just wandered if any one can tell me how long a walk it to from the Santa Fe to where it comes out between the SL and New York. We have always walked from the SL to the parks and just wandered how much longer it is to Santa Fe. Also, anyone know which blocks in the Santa Fe are closest to the parks? I may email pre visit to ask for a room here

Thanks
Amanda

its an extra 5 minutes walk from the Santa Fe along the river, compared to walking from the SL.

You want to be in the rooms closest to the little bridge over the river between the SF and Cheyenne, as thats the quickest way to walk (you walk past the Cheyenne along the river and come out at the HNY and lakeside). Blocks 33, 32, 45, 44 and 46 are closest to the river bridge at the SF.

Both hotels are ok although the Cheyenne has a much better bar. This is something the SF need to improve on as I feel it let's the hotel down.

The walk is quite pleasant, especially on a crisp winter morning

I was in the bar at Cheyenne, although it is good, I didn't get that feeling. :confused3 Maybe it's not "my" bar :lmao:

The bar at SF is basically a corner of the restaurant, no atmosphere or anything. The Cheyenne one is better compared o that but the bars at SL, HNY and DLH are much better then that

well, one bar at a time (or at a trip). last trip I've been to SL bar and on this trip I ant to to Cafe Fantasia in DLH :p
