Does anyone have any hints on tips for sewing sleeves on shirts. I have a pattern, but I just don't seem to understand the directions. I can make anything else, but anything with sleeves make me nuts!!! I'm trying to make my kids as much clothes as possible to save some money. You have to love Wal-mart's $1.50 a yard racks!!

I'd appreciate the help!!

Thanks!!

Sleeves are tough! It's taken me a lot of practice ;)

The classic way is to close the side seams of the shirt. Close the seam of the sleeve. Turn the sleeve inside out so that it is the right way round (seam on inside) then fit the sleeve into the armhole. Usually you pin from the bottom seam around and there will be a bit of extra room on the top part of the sleeve that you have to ease in.

I have also had a pattern that did it in an easier way, and I think this could work for you. You sew the shoulder seam. Then sew in the sleeve, matching markings etc. And then close the side seam and sleeve seam in one go.

Good luck
