~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

So sorry for such sad memories resurfacing. I can totally understand. I know you'll get through it and soon be on your way home and able to focus on the good things in your life. You are such a trooper! I'm so glad Victoria is able to be with you. Have a safe trip to get your Dad, get him home and for the two of you to get back home. My prayers will be with you all day.

Believe me, I KNOW how hard today will be for you. You are in my prayers my friend. And remember, the sorrow is there to remind us how short life is, and that we should celebrate life while we can.

Nini

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't imagine how difficult it must be being in the same places.

However, I'm happy your daughter was able to join you! That should at least make for some happy mom and daughter time.

Spending you good vibes!
Lissette

Yesterday was very crazy...

It started off with no coffee at my cousin's... Figures. :rolleyes1

But I went to pick up my dad... Hit a detour on the way to church - so we took the REALLY scenic route. We made it just in time though.

All of the neices and nephews gathered in the back of church to walk in behind all of the brother/sisters behind the casket.

I did take a picture from the back of church before we walked up - it was beautiful & packed, including the balcony and the basement (all of the front rows were reserved for family). It was so nice to see such a large showing of people. Also, it is really a gorgeous church... It's our family church, so not only are all the funerals held there, but all the weddings and baptisms too... I was baptized there and Josh and I were married there - so, along with the sad memories, there are good memories too.

The service was beautiful, one of my uncles is a deacon, so he did most of the service - and it was so touching. I held myself together quite well, I was surprised - but it hit me as we were walking out of church, of course - while everyone can stare at me. Oh well. I knew once I started crying, I wouldn't be able to stop. Once we got outside, I was able to gain composure again - thankfully.

We drove out to the cemetery... I could not believe the funeral processsion... I had to take pictures of this too, because it just made my heart so happy. It truly says something about someone when their funeral procession is miles long... It's kind of hard to see in the pictures- we were at the middle of the procession, and as far as you can see is a line of cars...

My uncle was a well loved and respected man, his smile and laughter will be missed by many.

While we were at the cemetery, we went to my Mom's grave... I have not been out there since Christmas... And clearly, I need to order new flowers for it, the ones we have out there are quite faded.

Afterwards, we had a luncheon in the church basement... My dad and I went to pick up V... She was babysitting all of the littles at a cousin's house, so all the parents could go to the service. I love that my family thinks of things like that... All of the kids, of all ages enjoyed this a lot. The older ones took care of all the younger ones, as none of them really needed to be at the service.

Then we dropped my dad off back home. He is doing SO MUCH BETTER! :woohoo: I am so happy - and relieved.

V and I did the long trip home... I was so tired and exhausted. I feel like I have not slept in my own bed for weeks, between Chicago, BFF's surgery and the funeral... I am just happy to be home, with nothing on my adjenda that doesn't include not sleeping in my own bed. :wizard: I was supposed to have my City Council meeting last night, but for the first time in 6 years, I called in... I was just too drained to deal with it.

Today, I am back to work at Target... V is going with me, she is meeting a friend in town and they are going to go see Maleficent together.

My back is still bothering me, but surprisingly it's feeling pretty good this morning. I am going to try to do a light work out this morning - nothing back strenuious.

I will be back in my sewing room tomorrow - busting my tail to catch up.

I will also be back to Disney planning... I cannot wait for this trip - we are well under 100 days - we are actually closer to 50 days than we are to 100... :woohoo: So, this trip is approaching fast.

Thank you to all of you for continuing to read and for posting your words of support during this time. :grouphug: All of you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

D~

I'm sure all the parents were relieved to know the littles were in such good hands. Sounds like your Chicago trip was amazing! Thanks for the pic you posted on my page love it!

I hope your back is doing better!

Welcome home D~! I know what you mean about wanting to sleep in your own bed. Hope you got a great night's sleep!

Just wanted to tell you that I think you are one amazing woman. Hope you have a great day at Target today and the next bed you sleep in that is not your own is at POFQ!

D, I am very slowly catching up on all my threads before I start my TR.

First, and foremost, I am so sorry to hear about your Uncle. It sounds like it was a beautiful service.

I loved watching all of the updates on FB for your DISmeet. I so wish I could have seen you girls.

I LOVE the Dug bag.

So sorry about your uncle. The funeral turn out was wonderful. It is always so hard to attend the funeral of someone so young. Glad you made it through it okay. :flower3:

Your back!!!! You have had such a terrible time of it lately! Back aches effect your entire body...OUCH! :crazy2:

Here's hoping life settles back down into a happy rhythm for you again very soon, my friend! :goodvibes

It's always good to have someone who knows the deceased well to aid in a funeral/memorial. I'd rather hear someone who knew how the person lived and didn't just have the usual platitudes.

Good luck catching up, but sometimes getting back in the swing of things helps.

Wow - less than 100 days. Getting excited for you!!

So sorry on the loss of your uncle! The church was beautiful, I was amazed at the number of people who attended my dad's funeral. It does help to know so many cared! Glad to hear your dad is feeling better!

You trip is coming up so fast! That means the auction will be here soon :cool1:

Thank you very much Cindy.

And thank you for the birthday wishes. We did have a lot of fun in Chicago... I received an email yesterday for round trip airfare for $88... I was SUPER tempted to go back. :cool1:

Yes, Lottie is definitely interesting... She is a little pissy right now, she is losing her 8 week quills and getting new ones - which is very similar to babies teething, so this is very painful for her and she is not a happy girl.

Again, thank you for the thoughts and prayers.

It sounds like it was a beautiful service. I hope your day at target goes well.

It was, thank you. And my day at Target went OK.

So sorry about your Uncle.

Can't wait to hear about your FP+s.

Thank you Lisa Joy. I am very excited about my FP+... If I can get everything we want, I will be happier.

Thank you Erin... Yes, that did work out very well.

We had a great time in Chicago... Glad we could share pictures with you, we received a lot of comments on our bling! :woohoo:

It's great to see you - I hope you & Little V are well.

Just wanted to tell you that I think you are one amazing woman. Hope you have a great day at Target today and the next bed you sleep in that is not your own is at POFQ!

Awww... Thanks Jennifer. I need to send you a PM, but I have been so busy... I will try to do that today. :thumbsup2

Hi Oopsi!!!! Thank you... I know, it was very difficult, but we just have to remember that he wouldn't have wanted to live his life that way.

Yes, I've had a few issues... Thankfully, I am starting to feel better.

Sorry, I've fallen way behind on your PTR (on everyone's, I think)... I have one more week until my auction - I just have to push through the last of it, then I will have the time to catch up everywhere again. I miss all of my Dis friends tremendously!!! :lovestruc

just know i love ya.

Thanks Mo... I love ya too!

Thank you Stephanie. It's great to see you! Yes, everything is sneaking up on me quite quickly... Just need to push through the last of this!

Well, yesterday was a Target day. I did survive with out too much pain from my back. I am back to full movemnt with out pain, as long as I take it slow. However, I am still not lifting anything heavy, including my weights. :/

Victoria went with me to town, her and her friend went to see Maleficent... she agreed, it was a great movie!

Josh and his uncle came home last night from fishing... They have been up on the Canadian border since Thursday last week... They had a great trip, caught lots of fish & ate lots of great food. :thumbsup2 Josh's uncle flies home today, it was great seeing him.

I plan to work out this morning... I did my Walk Away the Pounds yesterday and also my Ab work out... I was surprised I didn't have any pain from either. :woohoo: Today, I think I will do my WATP again, and maybe pick up my weights to do some arm/upper back and shoulder work... I figure I can do everything besides the stuff that would use my lower back. I'll just take it easy and see how it goes.

I will be in my sewing room all day today. I still have an accessory from last week's order to start/finish. I hope to have that done today. If I am lucky (which I don't think I will be), I can start on this week's order. I am just annoyed that I am behind... I don't have time to be behind. I also have to finish Auction Bag #9 before the end of the weekend... = Lots of overtime for me this week/weekend.

There is nothing else new or exciting going on.

I have missed you all, and I am really looking forward to finishing up all this extra auction work, paying off our trip and concentrate on enjoying the final countdown to Disney and Disney planning. popcorn::

Hugs, prayers and love to all of you!!!!

Wahoo!!! Another calendar page for you all!!!

Very excited about this day... We are doing Akershus for breakfast for the very first time, I have heard good things about this one

We are also going back to Garden Grill... Garden Grill used to be a must-do for us, but the last time we were there (our March 2012 trip), the character interaction wasn't the best. So we didn't do it on our last trip, and we missed it... So, it's back on our list. We'll see how it goes. :thumbsup2

Since we will be in Epcot... You can be assured it will pour rain all day long here.

Jim and I ate at Garden Grill in May. It was the first time we had eaten their since our Honeymoon 15 years ago. We absolutely loved it! The food was wonderful and the character interaction great. I turned out to be our favorite meal from the short weekend.

Hope you have a successful day in your sewing room. I'm very excited to see all of the auction bags. Not sure if I will be able to bid since they end on Saturday and I'm at the Animal Shelter that day. Of course I could probably sneak in a bid using my Iphone. :thumbsup2

Glad your back is better and Josh home safely.

Love your calendar page. I want to try Akershus for breakfast one day (we didn't care for lunch). I hope you have better luck at Garden Grill than us. While we had outstanding character interaction (all characters stopped by twice and even Chip colored with us), the food was meh.
