~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

I think the blue would look better with those fabrics but I'd keep the red. One can never have too many pairs of shoes.
You're so lucky that you got to sit out yesterday. We had a bad snow storm. Friday it was in the 50's. It's all supposed to melt this week when it gets into the 50's again.
We're finally getting a new photo printer at work. We barely made it through Christmas last year.
V looks so cute in her new glasses and hair.

Hi D! :wave2:

I was lured out of 'lurkdom' with talk of strawberry/spinach salad and cute Dansko sandals!!!

I'm a lover of that salad combo- so spring tasting- even though in NH we still have snow and temps in the 30s going on- that salad combo makes it seem like spring will happen soon.

I love the fabrics for your skirt but I'd agree with what you are thinking- the red is a little too red for the fabric- however those blue ones will look awesome. I like the prior posters comment to keep the red 'cuz they will look awesome with capris. So I'd vote to keep both!

Hope you had a fabulous day!

Liz (lucky #18 ;) )

So, Gus came over, we had dinner... It was very good. I found out that Gus doesn't like asparagus... Oops. I requested a list of foods he doesn't like - I felt badly for making him asparagus on his birthday.
.....
I think Gus had a good birthday. I did thank him for spending it with us, as I am sure his family wanted to spend it with him too, but it sounds like they are celebrating next week. So, that's good.

D~

I'm very curious about Gus. He sounds like a nice guy but I can't help wonder what his life at home is like. He seems to spend a lot of time at your house, even on important days when most teenagers would be home. Do you find that unusual? :confused3

So I have been MIA for awhile. My phone is no longer leaving my apps open long enough to read or post replies. A new phone is in my future. My computer died last fall and my DH is always on the only one we have. I wrote a reply yesterday on the phone, thinking it was working and it closed, lost my reply. So trying today on my kindle. Last post I believe was about my grandma being put on hospice. Well she passed away in January. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss her. She was the rock of our family and things are different without her. She also took care of us while mom worked when we were growing up, so really felt like I had a second mom. I miss her greatly, but hope she is in heaven playing cards with her family and having fun. In happier news, I have a DD3 and have been trying for a sibling for her for awhile, but have had 2 miscarriages. I am now pregnant, 6 weeks. Very nervous. Going for first ultrasound this week and hope to see a heartbeat. As you know, I also was lucky enough to finally get on your bag list and am so look excited!!!! V's hair and glasses are soooooo cute!! Will try to keep up if I can. Blue shoes for your outfit, but keep those red ones. Both are adorable!!!

I would go for the blue shoes for that fabric.

Congratulations to V for passing the gun safety training :cool1:

Another vote for the blue, keep the red :thumbsup2 Will those red ones go with the dress you have on in your first post of this thread?

I love the blue shoes with that fabric - however, I wouldn't rule the red out. You need to try them on with the skirt to really tell if they will work or not, in my opinion :)

Getting ready to knock out my work from home now.

We had a rainy day yesterday so we took the girls to see Muppets Most Wanted. The girls were good for the movie - I'm just not a huge Muppets fan (sorry, I know many are) so I just thought it was ok. We took the girls out to dinner last night - oh my, was Charlotte bad. Throwing her hair bow at waiters, her straw, and goldfish once I finally broke those out since she wasn't eating her dinner. Climbing under the table, crawling on the floor, trying to run away. It was horrible. I think we are going to take about a month off from eating out and see if she will outgrow this. Peyton was always good at restaurants, Charlotte's never been great but never this bad. I hope it's just a 2 year old thing. We enjoy eating out as a family once in awhile.

My parents came over this morning so my dad could help with some finishing work on our wood floors. Then my dad and DH did some fishing out back. I've been trying to get caught up on laundry and house cleaning and avoiding working but now I'm sitting at my laptop ready to make some progress.

Charlotte has slept in her crib the last two nights, all night, so I've been back in my own bed. It's been so nice! She also had two accident free days in big girl panties on Friday and Saturday but she had an accident this morning. I think she's making good progress.

Hope everyone has a great end to their weekends!

Drive by post, I can't find the quote I thought I had, I've been doing more and more reading about bonnet creek so I think if we are offsite it will be it for us. I know you said you vowed never off site, I think of BC as onsite - just not Disney owned loll It is so close. If it comes down to you guys not being able to go, you might want to look into it, You could get a 3 bedroom and split it with your friends, but then you loose your free dining (I think you have free dining) so the savings may not equal out. - I forgot about your dining.

I love V's new glasses and her HAIR!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

I used to sleep with curlers in my hair in high school, but my hair never looked that cute!

~Jennifer

I say go with the blue shoes!! Both pairs are very cute though!!!

So potty training..... Yeah so not happening right now!! But that's ok. At least he's going every now and then and will pick it up when he's ready. :)

Love V's glasses!! I know I forgot to comment on them before. Great job that she passed her test!!!!

I would probably go with the blue for those fabrics but I would definitely keep the red because those would look adorable with capris.

can I ask what brand of shoes those are?

Yah - that's the problem... I love them both so much! LOL They are Dansko. :lovestruc

I would go with the blue also. A girl can never have too many sandals!!

Hahaha... Will you come tell Josh that?

oooooh, I love the blue ones!!!

I know... Me too! That's the problem - I love both of them!

I think the blue would look better with those fabrics but I'd keep the red. One can never have too many pairs of shoes.

V looks so cute in her new glasses and hair.
Liz

Hahaha... Maybe if all of you come and tell Josh that...

I did manage to sit out for a little while yesterday too... I sort of lost track of time in my sewing room though... I looked at the clock at 11... then I looked again and it was 4:20! :rolleyes1 I'd forgotten to eat breakfast and lunch.

I hope it warms up for you soon... I am certain that yesterday was short lived.

Hi D!

I was lured out of 'lurkdom' with talk of strawberry/spinach salad and cute Dansko sandals!!!

Welcome! So happy to have pried you out of lurkdom! Hahaha... 2 of 3 of my weaknesses... Food... Shoes... Fabric. LOL Yah - I LOVE my Danskos!

I'm a lover of that salad combo- so spring tasting- even though in NH we still have snow and temps in the 30s going on- that salad combo makes it seem like spring will happen soon.

I agree - one of our favorite salads as well. I hope it warms up for you soon... We were in the high 50s yesterday, I had shorts on, it was glorious! But I am sure it won't last long... :rolleyes1

I love the fabrics for your skirt but I'd agree with what you are thinking- the red is a little too red for the fabric- however those blue ones will look awesome. I like the prior posters comment to keep the red 'cuz they will look awesome with capris. So I'd vote to keep both!

Yah - I agree - now that I've made the skirt (woohooo), I am certain that the red is going to be too red. Sigh. Oh well - I guess I will just have to make another to go with those sandals too. Now I have to save up enough $$ to buy the blue pair...

Hope you had a fabulous day!

Liz (lucky #18 )

Hahaha... It took me a minute to figure out what you were referring to. LOL Sometimes I am slow in the morning. I hope you had a great weekend, and happy to have you here and following along.

Blue! And then make a new outfit to match the red! Lol...that's how I roll!

ROFL! That is exactly what I was thinking! I have a few fabrics upstairs that would go great with the red... and a few more that would go fantastic with the blue... I see myself wearing lots of skirts this summer... Now... I have to find a few pairs of bike shorts to go under them - because I cannot be guaranteed to always act like a lady. LOL

I'm very curious about Gus. He sounds like a nice guy but I can't help wonder what his life at home is like. He seems to spend a lot of time at your house, even on important days when most teenagers would be home. Do you find that unusual?

I sent you a PM. :lovestruc

BUmmer about your computer/phone issues. I was happy to see you on my fanpage, I always worry about all my Dis friends when I haven't seen them in a while. I am glad you are OK though. :lovestruc

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Grandmother.

Congratulations! I am so happy for you. I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers, please keep us updated if you can. :lovestruc

I would go for the blue shoes for that fabric.

Congratulations to V for passing the gun safety training

Yah - I love the blue too... :rolleyes1 But justifying 2 pairs is really hard, especially when I am going down in size again, and I don't have anything smaller in my closet.

Thank you - she worked very hard at it.

Do you have any trips coming up Lillian?

Another vote for the blue, keep the red Will those red ones go with the dress you have on in your first post of this thread?

Hahaha... Unfortunately, the red won't... But the blue will. Sadly - the dress is too big on me now... Thankfully I purchased enough of that fabric to make myself another one when I get down to the size I want to be. :thumbsup2

However, I do have a bunch of fabric upstairs that would go great with the red sandals... I love this skirt pattern... and I can make that dress pattern from my first page in a tunic length - so I see a few of those in my summer wardrobe, as well. :thumbsup2 Now... If I could just find the time... :rolleyes1

I love the blue shoes with that fabric - however, I wouldn't rule the red out. You need to try them on with the skirt to really tell if they will work or not, in my opinion

Hahaha... I made the skirt yesterday, and I am pretty sure the red won't go... but I do have pleanty of fabrics that I could use to make other things to go with the red... :rolleyes1

Getting ready to knock out my work from home now.

Good luck - I hope you were able to get a lot accomplished.

We had a rainy day yesterday so we took the girls to see Muppets Most Wanted. The girls were good for the movie - I'm just not a huge Muppets fan (sorry, I know many are) so I just thought it was ok. I am sure it's just a 2 y/o thing... She will grow out of it. V was much the same way... I have many embarassing stories about her at Target/Sam's Club... Many where we had to stop the shopping trip short and go home. She had a TEMPER... Still does... :rolleyes1 Hopefully it gets better for you sooner rather than later.

My parents came over this morning so my dad could help with some finishing work on our wood floors. Then my dad and DH did some fishing out back. I've been trying to get caught up on laundry and house cleaning and avoiding working but now I'm sitting at my laptop ready to make some progress.

I hope it went well. :thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a great end to their weekends!

Yay for being in your own bed! And congrats on accident free days! That's excellent!

Drive by post, I can't find the quote I thought I had, I've been doing more and more reading about bonnet creek so I think if we are offsite it will be it for us. I know you said you vowed never off site, I think of BC as onsite - just not Disney owned loll It is so close. Yah - it's hard to compare with FD - because once you add in the cost of meals, it's usually more expensive?

I love V's new glasses and her HAIR!!!

I used to sleep with curlers in my hair in high school, but my hair never looked that cute!

~Jennifer

THanks Jennifer! I will be sure to tell her! :lovestruc

I say go with the blue shoes!! Both pairs are very cute though!!!

Love V's glasses!! I know I forgot to comment on them before. Great job that she passed her test!!!!

Hahaha... Yah - now I just have to try to justify them... I think I need to have an auction just to pay for my new shoes and a few new (smaller) pairs of capris... The ones I got for our trip to TN are almost too big already! GULP! Not that I am complaining, but I did figure they would fit me most of spring. Sigh.

BUmmer about potty training... I'd wait a while and start again.

Thanks! I will be sure to tell her. :)

**********************************************************

Well, I finished last week's order right away yesterday morning... It turned out great! Unfortunately, I won't have pictures up until tomorrow.

Then... Well, then I measured myself... determined that I needed to make my new skirt in a size large (this is awesome, because my Christmas skirt was made from this same pattern, and it was an XXL!) Then I started cutting out fabric for the skirt... Totally got distracted. I looked at the clock at 11am... then the next time I looked, it was 4:20pm... In the process, I'd forgotten to have breakfast AND lunch. :rolleyes1 Ooops!

I did manage to finish the skirt though - and it's super cute! I just love it, and it looks great on me... It's just a smidge tight - not uncomfortable tight, or muffin top tight though, so that's good. :thumbsup2 I cannot wait to wear it!

I also have dreams of making more... And making a few tops to go with the red sandals. I am pretty sure I have a sickness....

Today is a bit crazy... I work at Target. I never work Mondays at Target. :rolleyes1

To top it off, the funeral for our neighbor is today, and Alli really wants to go to support her friend. I can't get out of work. Josh can't take off. BFF has appointments all day. Sadly - I am going to try to take a couple of breaks today, so I can at least give Alli a ride to and from church. And even more sad, she will have to attend this funeral alone... Which really bothers me. The circumstances are horrible, and I really wish I could just be there with her. I am really annoyed that I have to work today. <---- Sorry, just needed to vent about it. Hopefully things work out.

Anyways... I better get going, I have a ton of stuff to accomplish this morning before I work. Have a wonderful day everyone... Sending out prayers to all who need them. :grouphug:

D~

I agree, the blue sandals probably look better with the skirt, but I like the red ones better. And is the "orange" fabric on the too of the skirt and the blue on the bottom? Then it probably won't look that bad???? Wear a red purse and you will be fine ;)

Sorry I missed your Dad's birthday.....these days if it's not on FB.....pretty good chance I missed it between sports, sickness and flooded basements, I didn't get a whole lot done online. Totally had plans to get my TR back up and running so I can finish it and start a PTR, but that didn't happen. Maybe next weekend???

I can't wait to see your skirt in person! But I'm a little nervous....Mo keeps saying it will be too cold for summery outfits???? Hoping at least Capri and sandals will be okay. We still have ALOT of snow here and she has bare ground.....so here's hoping that in 2months it will be warm enough for cute skirts :)

Have a great day today!

Hey D~ You're all caught up already?? Wow! THat didn't take long. I know that's a relief for you.

I'm with everyone else on the blue shoes. Both are adorable, so I also vote for you to keep both pair. Can't wait to see the skirt once you get it made. The fabrics are beautiful!

I hear you about wanting to wear shorts. It snowed in Ohio over the weekend and Dan ran into a white-out on his way home yesterday. (He surprised me by coming to Virginia after work Friday) It sleeted here in Virginia and was so cold. I'm in serious danger of getting crabby about the weather!:rotfl:

I think I told you that I was in the middle of a gift for your Dad's bd when my new machine started acting crazy. I tried to fix it, but never got anywhere with it. Dan took it with him when he left and will take it to the sewing center to get it taken care of. Hopefully I'll be back in business soon and will be able to finish his little gift. I hope he had a fun birthday and got lots of love from your DIS friends!

Have a great day at Target today!

I'm so sorry about your grandmother! I remember when you posted about hospice being in the picture. It must be so difficult since you were so close. I will keep you in my prayers.

Also, congrats on expecting a new little one, and prayers for a problem free pregnancy. You must be a strange mixture of elated and cautious. Let us know how the ultra sound goes.

I can't wait to see the skirt.
I hope you can get Alli to and from church so she can be at the funeral.

This weekend I have booked 2 new trips. One shorter one and one for a week. So it has been an expensive weekend ;)

The trips I have planned are: The first weekend in May I'm going on a MEGA (it has to be at least 500 participants on the event to call it MEGA) geocaching event in the capital of Norway Oslo. I will be staying from Friday to Monday. Arriving with the first flight and leaving with the last flight on Monday. So I will have all day on Friday to geocache and be a tourist and all day on Monday. This was one of the trips I booked this weekend.

Then I'm going with my friend and my 3 cats in a motor home for about 5 weeks in August/September. We will attend a MEGA geocaching event in Sweden and then we will drive through all of Finland to get a geocache in every county there.

Then in September I'm hoping I will be on a conference about Cerebral Palsy it's on a weekend. It's a really nice event where I get to meet other people with Cerebral Palsy and we get to exchange experiences.

I really missed going to London (UK) before Christmas last year. So this year I really want to do it. So this weekend I booked one week trip to London in early December. The airline had a sale going on now so that's why I bought the tickets so early.

Well there you have my traveling plans for this year :cool1: :cool1:

new skirt new shoes... Tess is making a skirt... Suzi you making a skirt?
since your doing all these new shoes.. so we need to go flip flop shopping??? :confused3

I will not be wearing a skirt. sorry... not happening. :rotfl:

Where did we decide on going to the dinner?!?!

Oh all you people will have such awesome EPIC stories after our dis meet!!!!

i cannot wait for you guys to get here!!! I need some off down time. i cannot WAIT for May!!!!

As for the weather. No there is some snow on the ground. Not much..But it is cold. May is usually capries and hoodie. this year who knows. it's a cold year!!!
Remember it is always colder by the lake. we live and will be trotting around by the lake.
Oh for those of you who don't know what 'the lake' is it's Lake Michigan..
we have our own lingo as i am sure you do in your cities.. :thumbsup2

Give Allison a HUGE hug for me...

It must have been a weekend for shoes. I spent the day yesterday going through mine and getting rid of a bunch. I think in total I got rid of 10 to 15 pairs. Yeah, my shoe collection was way out of control. Most went in a bag to goodwill but some went straight in the garbage. You know, those pairs you love and wear till they are about falling apart and then you still don't want to throw them out? I finally made myself throw some of those out. But of course all that means is that I now have room for more pairs! :rotfl:

So, don't even ask me about the shoes, my response is obviously keep both! ::yes:: Since you are thinking about making outfits to go with the red ones I'm guessing that's what you decided to do.

I hope you have a wonderful day and everything goes smoothly at Target.

Hope you'll post pictures of the new skirt. How nice to have the ability to make your own clothes. Eventually I am going to break down and learn how to sew.

I got done what I had to work wise at home yesterday. Had my meeting to present the results this morning. Now I will spend the next few days glued to my computer here working to get the month/year wrapped up.

Charlotte started off in her crib last night but woke up in the middle of the night calling for me. When I went in to check on her, she asked me for snuggles and to lay with her . I'm a sucker so we moved into the spare bedroom for the rest of the night. Hopefully tonight will go a little better.

I think auctions for a shoe/clothes fund sounds like a great idea!

Congrats on getting caught up in your sewing room! Sorry you have to work today and Alli will have to go the funeral alone. I'm sure she'll be just fine but I understand you wanting to be there with her.
