~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

Hi D~!!! I am still lurking about. :thumbsup2 Loved your amusement park pictures. Season passes...a great way to spend your pre-Disney days! :cheer2:

You really are looking great. You continue to inspire me on my own journey. :goodvibes

Yay for awesome weekends! I can't wait until my boys are old enough to go to Six Flags on a regular basis, but for now we stick with going to the Renaissance Fair at least once a summer.

My convention over the weekend was great but exhausting and I have even more commissions added to my list. But this is good because now I have enough saved up to pay off the rest of my bag next year!

Well, thanks for your prayers. Went for my 13 week appt today. I got confused and thought I was getting an ultrasound, but not this appt. He did hear a nice strong heartbeat and my husband recorded it for me. So now I can reassure myself by listening to it. I wish I could say all my worries are gone. But everytime I think this is the appt that will make me feel better, I find some worrisome thought pop into my head. My OB had losses of his own and he said, hearing the heartbeat makes momma's heart feel better. But he knows I will worry until I'm holding the baby in my arms. So very true. But I'm gonna try my best to enjoy each day and try my best not to worry. And right now I have a ton of things to keep my mind busy. He did say rides at Disney were ok for me since I'm still early on and baby is in a safe spot right now behind a bone. Excited for this news. Really the only rides that were "not ok" that we would ride are safari and mine train. Many of the roller coasters are out of the question anyway because my dd isn't tall enough yet. I still haven't decided yet, but at least he has no concerns.

8 day DANCE!!!

Can't wait to have some FUN!!!

Can't wait to see your NEW creations!!!

One week!!!!!!! :woohoo:

I hope you have a good day at Target.
It sounds like you got a lot done in your sewing room yesterday

Today it's a grey day outside. And back to normal temperatures 53,6ºF. But I prefer days like today so I'm not complaining

Thanks Lillian! I sometimes love gray days, but we've been having a lot of them lately. It's supposed to be sunny today, so I plan to take an hour off of work to lay out on my deck... Don't want to be pasty in Chicago. ::yes::

Hope Target goes well today! I look forward to seeing pictures of your latest bag whenever you can post them.

Praying for your uncle and his family.

I'm excited to hear about your Chicago adventures! I wish my girls weekend was closer than November!

Thanks Jennifer, and thank you for the prayers for my uncle. I had a good day at Target yesterday.

I am very excited to go to Chicago! I can barely contain myself... This is just the thing I need to keep my mind distracted from our Disney trip... Then once we come back, I should be mostly done with my auciton bags and I can go straight into trip stuff in between my orders. :thumbsup2

Nice that after today you won't have to go back to Target for over a week.

Glad Josh and MM made it back safely (I saw the pic on FB last night).

So happy that your knee is better.

Continued prayers for your uncle.

I know- I am very excited. LOL I've taken (roughly) 6 weeks off at Target this summer... This week coming up... 2 weeks over 4th of July and 4 weeks in August/Sept... Two for our trip and two for when Brian and Myrthe are here. :lovestruc

Thank you... I am so relieved that my knee is doing much better.

I will have an update on my uncle below. Thank you for your prayers.

Hey there Miss D - you look fantastic! I am so very, very proud of you. You should look in the mirror and tell yourself "you are awesome". Seriously. We all need to remind ourselves of that every once in a while. I left my lunch at home today; I get so mad when I do that. I cannot wait to hear of your food choices at Disney. Remember, "wheat allergy"

Hi Carol! I always love it when you can stop in. Thanks for the encouragement. Yikes about leaving your lunch at home... These days, when I forget my food somewhere, I tend to fast through it - I honestly don't mind... Most things, I would rather fast than eat garbage. ::yes::

I am a little nervous about my food choices at Disney... Most things I will be able to avoid... but there are things I plan to have, which I wouldn't normally even consider these days... Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzels, Jalepeno Pretzels, Napoleons (twice), Banana Bread Bread Pudding, Stuffed French Toast and, of crouse, Beignets... Most of these things - even though it sounds like a lot, they should only happen once per day because they are spread out through all the parks... Except for the beignets. ::yes:: I do plan on adding a litlte bit of wheat to my diet in the weeks leading up to our trip - so I don't get sick while we are there. But not much. I go to Disney as much for the food as anything else, so it will be interesting to see how it goes for me. I am very nervous about it though.

I am so sorry to hear about your uncle; prayers for him and his family through this difficult time. I know how angry it makes you when you see loved ones smoke; MIL died at 59 from a massive stroke; Tyler barely remembers her, he was 5; and my youngest was 4 months. She would have been so proud of Tyler graduating from A&M. It hurts that she made that choice. Just keep telling yourself that Josh has to decide if and when.

Thank you for the prayers. Yes, it does make me angry, and more than anything - sad. But I must just let it go and try not to let it make me so bitter.

DS has about 2 1/2 weeks of school left; please pray for him!!!!

I have been praying for Shane... I will continue to do so. Please keep me updated if you can.

I cannot wait to hear about your epic Chicago trip! Lots of pics D!

Believe me, I will! :thumbsup2

Love hearing about your auction bags - I know I will have to take a peek - even though its not in my budget - one of these days though I will have an epic D bag.

Thanks! They are so much work, but I always have fun doing them - even if, right now, it feels like such a chore. Once they are done, it will be a huge relief. ::yes::

Hugs and prayers to you and your family - hope your Dad is doing well! I have a little something to send him.

Thank you - same to you. I finally talked to him on Friday last week... He has a cold. :( He called yesterday while I was at work, so I will return his call this morning.

Hi D~!!! I am still lurking about. Loved your amusement park pictures. Season passes...a great way to spend your pre-Disney days!

You really are looking great. You continue to inspire me on my own journey.

Hi Oopsi!!!!!!!!!!! It's great to see you! Thanks for stopping by!

Yah - I am glad we were able to do season passes again this year, lots of fun planned! Even a few water park days... And this year, I can rock the swimwear. :thumbsup2 LOL

Yes, it's a fun age when you can take them to amusement parks... I loved doing that with my girls - although, they are much more dare devils than I am.

Glad you convention went well - that's awesome! :thumbsup2

Have fun in Chicago! I love that city! And continued prayers for your uncle!

Thank you! Looking forward to it, for sure!

Well, thanks for your prayers. Went for my 13 week appt today. I got confused and thought I was getting an ultrasound, but not this appt. I am glad to hear your OB appointment went well... Bummer about no U/S - but glad you were able to hear his/her hearbeat, and it was strong. I know it's not the same as a U/S... I hope you are able to relax a little bit. :lovestruc Glad the trip is during a good time for you, and you'll be able to do some fun stuff too. :lovestruc Please continue to keep me updated and you'll be in our prayers.

**********************************************************

First, and update on my uncle, posted by my aunt (his youngest sister) yesterday on our family Facebook group: An update on Harold: This morning, he was running a fever at 102.5 and is being monitored for infections. Harold had a chest x-ray this morning and it came out just fine. The docs discontinued the Propofol (sedation medication) for 30 minutes this morning to check his reaction to pain and commands, but Harold showed no response. He was able to take one breath on his own. The bleeding in the ventricles is massive; they have drained over 700 ML of fluid off his right side (about 2 cans of soda). Because the bleed is bigger on the left side, it is causing a 6-7mm shift in the midline of his brain. He has two catheters on either side of the top of his head--one to drain the left ventricle, and the other to drain the right. The right side has been draining as hoped, but the left side is not. Hopefully, they can get the left side to start draining soon!

We would all appreciate your continued prayers for him and his family. It's still not looking very good. :(

I had a good day at Target yesterday... It was slow and boring. I was able to duck out of there 45 min early... My intention was to pick up V as she was walking to her Dr. appointment, but she still beat me there. Oh well... Now I am done with Target for 2 weeks! :woohoo:

Afterwards... I picked Alli up at school, then the girls and I went to Kohl's... I had a coupon and Kohls cash and 30% off... We were looking for shorts - but we ended up with 2 maxi dresses. Then good thing about this, is we all wear nearly the same size now, so we are able to share things like dresses/skirts. It's a lot of fun! I also bought myself a new brown belt... Mine was too big. Whoot!

Today, I will be appliqueing all day... First my custom order, then I will move on to Auction bag #8. I plan to take an hour off this afternoon so I can lay out in the sun... I don't want to be pasty in Chicago. ::yes::

Speaking of Chicago... ONE WEEK!!!! :woohoo: Soooo unbelieveably excited!!!

I have a regularily scheduled hair appointment on Tuesday next week, and I am debating on getting a mani/pedi... I haven't had one since our trip last August, and I would love to do some Disney nails for Chicago. I have not decided for sure yet - but I do need to make the appointment soon, if I am going to.

I hope you all have a marvelous day today! Sending out prayers and Pixie Dust to all who need it. :grouphug:

I'm not sure exactly what your diet includes or excludes, but they do have gluten-free beignets at PO. I've heard that they are pretty good.

Don't be surprised if those foods that you plan to eat make you feel sick now that you have been avoiding them for so long. It is very easy for me to say no to certain foods because of the way they make me feel after I eat them. :sad1:

I loved making this bag! I love working with Mickey's bold colors and dots!

yes one week from today you will all be here!!! 7 days!!!
:cheer2:
let the fun times BEGIN!

Love your TRs and your bags! So sorry to hear about your uncle, both my patents are heavy smokers as is my mil and my til was but he passed away at 61 (softball sized tumor in his throat) led to heart attack. Its a sad addiction that affects everyone! So excited to hear about your upcoming trip to the world! Great job on the plan to get healthier! I myself am about to embark on a plan of healthy eating and exercise after falling off the wagon this past winter weight is a constant struggle for so many of us your honesty is inspirational!

It doesn't sounds good with your uncle. I'm crossing my fingers that things will get better soon.

The mickey bag looks great. I hope you get done the things you want in your sewing room today :)

Sorry to hear about you uncle. Continued prayers. My sister was I a coma for a couple weeks. By the grace of god she came through, and we fully attribute it to prayer, but it was so hard, sitting at her side not knowing if I would her speak to her again. Prayers for the family for sure.

Love love love the bags! Maybe my favorite (I love Mickey's bold colors)

Saying prayers for your uncle and family. I am so sorry that they are going through this.

I love the Mickey bag! I really like your messenger style bags, luckily Charlotte is now potty trained (only one or two accidents at school last week, none at home in a couple of weeks) so I shouldn't need to carry anything that big to the parks again.

Having all this time off from Target over the summer should help you decide if you'd like to be a full time seamstress (is that still the right term when you are making bags rather than clothes?) or if you want to keep working at Target. I know for me, working remotely last week has made me wish I could do that more often!

So excited that your Chicago trip is so close! Hope you have a great and productive day.

Continued prayers for your Uncle, D.

Funny that V still beat you to the doctor.

One week and you'll be here and I'll be getting ready to leave. :(

I love the Mickey messenger bag.

Oooh - that's interesting Sue - I didn't know that about the beignets.

I know - I am so worried about that. I have heard that people get sick if they go back to eating wheat. I am thinking I may start incorporating little bits of it back into my diet, here and there, just to see. Hopefully it won't be too bad?

well.. I guess i will jump on the Mani/Pedi band wagon and go and get mine done!

Sigh... I still can't decide if I should do a mani/pedi or not... I really want to, but that cuts into my trip budget. We'll see... It would be fun.

Sooooo excited! :woohoo:

Thank you. :lovestruc Sorry to hear about your losses, it's so very sad.

Thank you... I've really enjoyed being on this journey to better health, it's be a lot of fun (and frustration) trying to find what works for me... I am very excited about it, especially now that I am really starting to see some great changes. :wizard: Best of luck to you, and don't be afraid to look outside the box for answers.

Sadly, it does not sound good. So many people are praying, hopefully something turns around soon. I will have an update below.

Thank you... I really love it!

Thanks! Oh wow... That is surely a miracle! I cannot imagine how hard that must have been for everyone.

Yah - that is a nice benefit to older kids... LOL Not as much stuff to carry.

I think "seamstress" is the correct term? LOL I am not sure? Sadly, all of my weeks off from Target - I am really not home to work - I am actually on vacations. LOL :cool1:

Yes... I am SUPER EXCITED about Chicago! I cannot wait to see Suzi and Mo again, and finally meet Tess. It's going to be a blast... Not to mention all of the other Disers (OK, maybe 3 - LOL) that are meeting us for our shopping day/maybe lunch. :woohoo:

I'm hoping this is mine I can't wait to get it!!!

Jodi

Hi Jodi! Yup - this is your bag... It went out in yesterday's mail. :lovestruc I am very happy to hear that you like it!

Continued prayers for your Uncle, D.

Funny that V still beat you to the doctor.

One week and you'll be here and I'll be getting ready to leave.

I love the Mickey messenger bag.

Thanks Kathy. LOL - yah - I was kind of surprised that she beat me... but really, the Dr. is only 5 blocks from school, I was just trying to be nice, because she had to carry her backpack with her. Oh well.

Still so bummed that we don't get to see you... It's too bad you can't meet us for a real Chicago hotdog when we arrive - since that's our plan for dinner Wednesday evening... :wizard: But I totally understand... You are going somewhere super fun the next day. :woohoo:

First an update on my uncle from my aunt on FB yesterday evening:

We are being optimistic and praying for a miracle, but we haven't had a lot of positives lately. Harold is resting comfortably and is still on the ventilator. His heart is going strong! The doctors ordered an EEG to see his brain activity. We won't know the results until late tonight or tomorrow morning. Harold will also have another CT scan done and hopefully read by the 2 o'clock rounds. His temperature just spiked to 103.5 so they are cooling him with ice packs. No infections noted at this time, but they are rechecking his blood and urine.

Thank you, everyone for your continued prayers. :grouphug:

I had a great day in my sewing room yesterday. I was able to cut out and stitch both of the appliques I needed to do... My custom order and my auction bag.

It was a beautiful sunny blue-skied morning, the perfect day for getting some sun... Then in the afternoon (when I wanted to lay out in the sun) - it was soooo cloudy, there was no sun... Then, when Josh came home (and it was too late in the day to lay out there) - it was a perfect cloudless evening. Seriously? :confused3 So... I chose to work all day in my sewing room instead - in the hopes that today will work out much better for me. :thumbsup2

I have to run Alli to the Dr. this morning... So, that will seriously cut into my work day. Then, by the time I get home - I am hoping to work for a little bit, then lay out on the back deck. :3dglasses Hopefully it will be a blue sky day...

I hope you all have a wonderful day... Sending out prayers to all who need them. :grouphug:

Love your Mickey bag!!!! I finished up Alex's autograph book. So one less thing on my list. My mom had outpatient surgery yesterday and should've been out in an hour or two, but was there until late afternoon due to trouble with the anesthesia. My brother thinks they gave her too much. I wasn't able to be there as I was working. She takes care of my grandpa, so hoping she is feeling better today. I'm going over after work to see if they need anything. I could've been there 24/7 for her if they waited until the summer. But they just decided to get it done quickly. Of course, she didn't expect a bad reaction either. Hope you get your sun today!!! Prayers for your uncle and family.

It's sad to hear about your uncle. I hope it gets better soon.

I hope the weather is better today so you can get some sun :)

Continuing to pray for your uncle and family. Hoping they will get good news, or at the very least, get some answers.

Congrats on the productive day in the sewing room! You have made so much progress on your auction bags. Hope today goes well too, and you can get some time in the sun!

What's the itinerary for the EPIC DisMeet? I want to hear all the plans so I know all the fun I'll be missing :rotfl:

Have a great day!

I love the Mickey bag. Sorry to hear about your uncle. Hopefully things start to improve.
Enjoy all your vacation time this summer. The Dis meet in Chicago sounds like it's be a lot of fun.
Things have been quiet around here lately. My niece, her husband and 2 year old son stopped by yesterday to pick up one of the kayaks. They're going camping this weekend. The weather should be perfect for camping.
The newlyweds will be home sometime tomorrow while I'm at work. The past few days have been really crowded at Disney so they're glad to be coming home.
Today's a short shift at work. Hopefully it goes by fast.
Liz
