Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

:scared1: That is just scary.... how do they do that without burning the shirt?

Glad to know about Schmetz needles. That is what I always use.:thumbsup2

I was a little curious about that as well. Knowing my luck I would catch my whole house on fire. From the way she explained it, it's kind of like sealing ribbon, just a quick pass over and they'll draw right up. I doubt I'll try it, maybe on a day when I'm feeling really lazy..haha. If I do, I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

Just throwing this out there.... I think a couture disney princess would make a beautiful UPB.;)

Popping in with a hi : )
Loving everything! Pictures, Bags, Trip reports and all the love you ladies have for each other!!!!
Also L-o-v-e the Nightmare bag! It reminds me of my Sister and her wedding, (She was married on Halloween and used a Jack and Sally Theme)
I look forward to seeing what your next creation is!!

Oh and thank you for the Garden Grill report, we were thinking of eating there and then changed to 1900 park fare and I was sad to be missing GG, now not so much!!!
:goodvibes

I agree. I wish someone would digitize the couture princesses.

DMGeurts Do you have a webpage where you sell bags that you have made?

I've been thinking about things lately, and I cannot get your bags off of my mind!
I have one question, can you do (moreorless..)any image? Say if I had my own drawing of.. lets use Ariel for this example, would that be able to put on a bag?

I love your trip report, and your bags. And your dog, and seeing your two beautiful daughters that it brings such a smile to my face when I check here :)
D sells on etsy -- she rarely sells a bag she has already made. Usually she custom makes them. Chances are good she could do an image you have, though I do know she likes doing her own thing so she'll have to speak for herself on that one. If you can't find her on an etsy search just PM her -- Dis doesn't allow people to buy or sell via posts but if you ever see something you like just pm that person -- not everyone sells, but a lot of people do.

I hate when you run out of a fabric you need and use a lot.

I am having a semi good morning so far. I just wish this nagging cough I have would go away LOL.

Tell me about it...

Josh reminded me that I can go to the local boutique fabric store... I will pay a small fortune for it, and they don't carry the same brand of solids I always use - but they do carry something comparible... but it will save me about 1 1/2 hours... So, I am just going to do that.

Josh saved the day - again. ;)

D~

As it turns out... The little boutique fabric store near me had NO orange, so now I have to run up to the fabric store to get orange... Grrr... I tried to make what I had work - and it just doesn't look right. :confused3 Oh well - it's not that bad, it's not like I made the whole thing - it's only a couple of pieces that I need to do.

:scared1: That is just scary.... how do they do that without burning the shirt?

I would definately burn my house down.

MM is getting SO big. I love the picture of him wrapped like a baby in the blanket!
V is so right ,the material for those blankets is expensive but they are so warm. She did a beautiful job. Love the new bag. I never watched the move but love your choices.

I know - I still marvel at how fast he is growing! Thanks about V's blanket and bag. :lovestruc

good luck on your shopping trip.....hmm orange, what are you creating now? maybe a goofy bag?

You know I can't tell you that Lisa! :rolleyes1 I like to keep everyone in suspense!

sounds like a yummy night!!!

I hope so!

progressive dinner sounds like fun

I hope so! LOL

now I am hungry LOL

Not me... I have too much on my mind...

This sounds delicious :) how do you make it?

I will come back later today, or in the morning and write out the recipe for you. :thumbsup2

Yah - I was thinking the same thing about catching my house on fire - not good.

Hmmm... The couture Princesses??? Interesting....

Yah - we'll be skipping GG next time... It could use some updating too?

I agree. I wish someone would digitize the couture princesses.

I need to research these gals a bit more...

Busy day ahead of me...

As it turns out - the little fabric boutique had NO ORANGE, so I do have to make a special trip to the fabric store... I hate it when that happens! I don't dare risk trying to go to JoAnn's - because their color choices have been really poor, and if I go there and they don't have it - then it's REALLY far out of my way to go where I know they do have it. Grrr...

Then I have to get a few groceries for our progressive dinner tonight. And I need to be home at a reasonable hour to put everything in their respective crock pots...

I also have to hit the liquor store... :rolleyes1

Not to mention the cleaning I need to do. :rolleyes1 I really wanted to be able to sit out on our deck tonight, but we are going to have to watch the weather, because we are supposed to get storms later. Hopefully they stay away diring 8-9pm, when everyone is at our house.

I am really praying I get a chance to sit down at Mr. R today and work on the applique for this bag - I really feel like I am so far behind. I am not - but I feel like I am, and I hate that feeling!

That's it! I have to run and get ready - I promised the girls a ride to school today. ACK!!!

Thanks Andrea for posting this. :0) I loved all the stuff you helped Amy make for her trip! I wish you'd tell me when you post pics in other places, because sometimes I never leave the TR section - and I always feel so badly that you are always here to comment on what I make, and I miss half of yours.

D, I forgot to even take pics of the Mickey shirts I did for Amy. Her mom bought all the shirts and I appliqued them and Loree made the names (which required two separate hoopings so made the project take longer -- I started sewing Floriani together to save some money -- worked great fro the names!). And I did the Tink shirt on my own and forgot to take a pic of that too!!! That's why I posted the link to Amy's ptr.

I hear you on your busy day. I have tons to get done as well. My goal today is to put dd's Pirate Insa together -- it's appliqued and everything is cut except the waistband. I need to see what color shirt I have (which I will have to applique) and what trim I have -- made need to buy some, but I'm going to the fabric store anyway.

Then I want to make a bowling shirt for the birthday boy -- party is Sunday and I'm not yet sure if I have a coordinating fabric or not. I may just do a t instead -- though I really want to do the bowling shirt. I could do a t and Easy Fit shorts if my sister has access to the child to measure his waist!

And I have to go to the fabric stores today to find a heap load of fabric for a special project -- I need at least 3 yards and I don't have anything on hand with that much fabric :( I'm armed with coupons though! So I feel your pain with haing to go fabric shopping as well. I also feel your pain with feeling like you are behind on things even if you are not.

Eeks! I'm suppossed to be off the computer by 1000 and it's 1002!!!! I already did my grocery shopping though and have the groceries put away (I skipped washing the fruit though which I normally do right away!).

Have a productive day and a fun dinner. I'll keep my fingers crossed for great weather for you! It's HOT here today!

yah I know you like to keep us in the dark :rolleyes1 popcorn:: will wait !

hope you find the orange today without too much running around!

enjoy your dinner tonight, hope the storm stays away!

decided to give myself a mental health morning, going to catch up on a couple shows, then p/u my nephew and megan from school...early dismissal today, then visit my mom for a bit

Have fun at your Progressive Dinner tonight. I don't know how much sewing I will get in as I have about 7 hrs of computer work to do this weekend for my "real" job plus it is DH's birthday.

He then sprung on me last night he wants to have a cookout on Saturday and celebrate his brother's bday too (which is today). So now I am off to go clean the house and pick up my sewing area.:scared:

1 - 8oz block of cream cheese (softened)
1 lb bulk breakfast sausage
1 head garlic, plus 1 additional clove (I just use the chopped garlic I have)
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Won Ton wrappers, or egg roll wrappers cut into fourths
Non-stick cooking spray

Preheat the oven to 375°. Cut the top off the head of garlic and place it on a baking sheet covered with foil and pour olive oil over it. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and cloves are soft and mushy (I skip this step totally and just use the chopped garlic in the jar).

Meanwhile, crumble sausage in a large skillet. Cook over medium heat until browned. Finally chop additional clove of garlic, andd add to the sausage. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. In a large bowl combine the sausage mixture with the cream cheese, roasted garlic and a pinch of the red pepper flakes. Beat the mixture with a hand mixer until well combined. \

Spray a mini-muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray. Add a won ton wrapper to each cup of the muffin tray and fill with abou 1 to 1 1/2 TBSP of the garlic cheese mixture. Moisten the edges of the won ton wrapper with water and pinch the won ton wrapper together to seal. Then spray with non-stick cooking spray, repeat until the whole tin is full of lil' garlic bites. (I put all the wonton wrappers into the cups, then fill them, then pinch them all at once.)

Bake at 375° for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and gorgeous!

I have them notated as 1pt each on the old WW Winning Points - for anyone that does that program. :lovestruc

D- Sorry to hijack your thread, but a question for the American Girl Doll experts....
V has strawberry blond/brunette hair, that is rather ringletty (sometimes she even looks dirty blond, yet not) the closest thing i can find to her hair color on the AG websites are the red headed dolls. In my opinion however they don't look red at all on the website. We are looking at the light skin, long curly red hair and blue eyes doll, (Why they couldn't make one with brown eyes is beyond me :furious: but we'll deal) online it looks the most like V, but I am wondering if when we get it it will be a REAL red. Does anyone have a My American Girl doll with red hair? Does it look the same as on the AG website?

here is a pic of V,

Thanks!
Almost done your PTR!

Have fun with your dinner party :goodvibes

Thanks! I'll try! :)

I agree, The curly red head - which isn't all that red in person... I'll send you a PM with a couple of pictures of her... Since the photos don't belong to me, I don't want to post them here. :)

AMAZING!!! That cake is a work of art! I have done the smallest ammount of cake decorating - and to be able to get the curly mountain into a cake... JUST WOW!!! It's beautiful.

And your sister's wedding was beautiful... I love how her dress, fits the total theme, but yet it's not "Sally"... You know? BEAUTFUL!!! Thank you for sharing with us!

I figured I would update about last night.

We all had a magnificant time. There was soooo much food - and all of it was sooo good.

We started at my neighbor's (Krisitin and Zach) house... She served this amazing drink... It was Gin and Vermouth with sprite, she put two cherries in it and a lemon on the side of the glass. It was VERY refreshing, and you couldn't taste the alcohol at all. She served "Bull Bites" - which were some sort of beef serloin tips that she had been marinating for several days, and cooked in the crock pot until they were tender. She had horseradish on the side. The also made home made onion strings. Everything was delicious.

Then we moved to my house. When I was at the liquor store and checking out, there were these airplane sized bottles of CAKE flavored vodka, and the guy said they were really good - you serve them with gingerale. So, I got 2 mini bottles for us to try. And we all agreed - it tasted JUST like yellow cake. Then I also had the vanilla vodka with Rootbeer... I forgot to get icecream - so we just had it like that. Everyone loved them. Then I served the Reuben dip, the "build your own chicken nachos" and the sausage/cream cheese wontons... Those were gone almost instantly.

We decided to skip Shanna's house, because she has 4 kids and she had an in-house babysitter. So, we stopped at her house to grab her crock pots and bring them to Melanie's.

So, Shanna's contribution was home made chicken tortellini with alfredo sauce - NUM!

Melanie had made home made mango salsa (TDF!) with cilantro (my ultimate favorite), and then she had made regular salsa too... Delicious. Her husband made "sausage dip" which looked and tasted very similar to the stuffing that went in my won ton wrappers - but there were tomatoes in it too - and probably some other things. Again delicious. Melanie served Margaritas, but I had carried the remainder of my rootbeer float down to her house with me, and by then, I was DONE.

Shortly after, Zach walked me home... Josh came a short time later - by the time he got here, I was out cold upstairs.

I will have to say, when I walked in the house last night, all my crock pots were still going - and I just looked at them and groaned and went to bed. I knew they would be a huge mess in the morning that I would have to scrub for days - but I just wanted to go to bed, so I left them.

When I got up this morning, all of the food was put away and the crock pots were washed and drying in the sink. My SWEET Josh cleaned them up last night before he came to bed... What an awesome guy! :lovestruc

We all had a great time - I think. My only issue was that I go to bed so darn early... So, I was ready to go home early in the night. I have no idea how late everyone else stayed out. But we all get along really well and enjoy eachother's company - not all the time - but we do have fun. :lovestruc

Now, I need to get to work in my sewing room... I didn't get up there for even one second yesterday, because I had to wash and dry that orange fabric - and by the time that was done, I need to start making food. So, I will be spending a good portion of today trying to catch up - again.

D~

I'm glad to hear that you had a great time last night. How sweet of Josh to clean the pots.

Actually - I forgot to add.. That first drink we had (the Gin and Vermouth one)... Kristin actually got that recipe when she was in Norway this spring. :moped: She loved it so much, becuase it was so light and refreshing. Now, I want to go to Norway (and Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands - again, France... The list is endless). :thumbsup2

D~

That Josh is a total sweetie. How nice of him to clean up.

I go to bed early too some days.

J was up at around 4:30 this morning because he went to bed while we were out to dinner and wouldn't walk up.

So I am hoping he naps for a bit today because we have a party.

hooray for a successful progressive dinner party!

bigger hooray for Josh cleaning up for you.
leaves more time for the orange project!

The dinner sounds fab! I could really go for some of that mango salsa and a margarita. I don't think I would have left that house!

Sorry, little time to chat today. Must run to find an odd colored shirt in a toddler size and I fear this is not going to go well. I would have gone first thing this morning but we had an 8:30 soccer game which ended in a tie b/c the other team scored the tie goal with less than a minute left. Our team was a bit discombobulated anyway -- my ds usually plays offense and he hurt his foot yesterday so they put him on defense so he wouldn't have to run so much and one of our defensive players (who is awesome on defense) didn't know how to play offense at all. So all in all I have to blame the tie on the boy at school who trampled over my son's foot yesterday!

Must go shop and then must go sew. If I can find the shirt I want this will go fast and I will be done in about 3 hours. If not I will be frustrated and make mistakes and be sewing all day and night!
