It was during this whole time, I was texting back and forth with Tink (
LovethatTink), her and her DH and DS were searching for a parking spot at DTD, they were on their way to meet the girls and I for lunch at EoS. When she told us that they found a spot, and were on their way, the girls and I paid for our stuff (V bought Alli the "Grape Soda" pin that she'd been wanting - so sweet of her!) and went outside to wait for Tink and her family.
I was super excited to meet Tink and the rest of her family. They are all so sweet - my girls fell in love with little Anikin. Tink's DH and Ani went and found a seat in EoS, while Tink, the girls and I got in line. The line was quite long, but it moved very quickly - which we were prepared for - I'd read that many times on The Dis. So, we figured out what we wanted to order, and I followed Tink's cue, because we had never ordered here before and it looked a little confusing.
Allison ordered the Earl's Club
Victoria ordered the Cannonballs (meat ball sub - surprise)
And I ordered the Original 1762
We also got a side of potato salad to share and Frozen Lemonades... Since we were paying for this meal OOP - we didn't get any desserts. And we didn't want to eat too much, because we had a huge dinner coming up tonight and we were getting sick of eating - honestly.
Everything was delicious!
Diring lunch the girls and Ani chatted - it was so cute! Ani knows a lot about video games, and the girls left lunch very educated!
Tink invited us to help her pick out her birthday present... A Minnie themed Harvey bag from Tren-D. I was super excited because I really wanted to see this store, and picking out bags is right up my alley! After some deliberation and coaxing the CM to actually open the case so she could look at the different bags - we finally found one that fit her best - it's super cute! I hope she'll post a picture of it, because I didn't take any.
Once we were done picking out her bday gift - we went to meet back up with her DH and DS, who had ventured into the
Lego store...
On the way - Tink offered to take a picture of the girls and I - which was super nice, because the only pictures we got of all 3 of us together were the PHotopass pictures.
I snapped a few pictures
It wasn't until I realized that we needed to leave DTD if the girls wanted to get back to the resort to swim for a little while before we headed out to our dinner ADR - then we decided to get a picture of all of us together - courtesy of Tink's DH.
And then we had to leave... We were all so sad - the girls and I truly enjoyed meeting Tink and her family - we hope to meet them again on our next trip. They still talk about Ani all the time - during their short meet - Ani managed to capture their hearts, it was so sweet.
After we parted ways, we hopped on the first boat back to POFQ... Again, I snapped a few pictures on the way back:
The girls and I reflected on our morning at DTD, and we all wished we could have spent more time there.
Once we got back to POFQ- There was a male Mousekeeper (not our normal female) cleaning our room - it was very awkward, becuase he didn't want to leave so the girls could change, but we were on a time limit - the girls changed quickly in the bathroom and went down to the pool. I stayed in the room to relax and Dis for a little while. They only had about a half hour to swim before they had to be back to our room to change and hop a bus to MK for our dinner ADR.
We took the bus to MK, we were surprised that the Monorail was actually running, so we got on the Monorail and rode it around the the Poly. This was our first Monorail ride of our trip, because of the building of the new DVC Grand Floridian resort, the Monorail wasn't supposed to be operating between the hours of 11 am and 6 pm - but it was running today...
We rode around through the Contemporary, and got off at the Poly.
Despite the fact that we have never stayed at the Poly, we still feel a connection to this resort. When we stayed at SoG in 2008, we spent a LOT of time at the Poly, since we used their monorail and transportation frequently. Even though we didn't stay there - it still felt like we were staying there, if that makes sense? So, it was really fun to come here and smell the familliar smells and enjoy the resort again.
This is where we got stuck talking to the Photopass person at the kiosk... She wouldn't let us leave and just kept talking - don't get me wrong - she was super nice. But we just really wanted to enjoy the Poly, but since we are "MN nice" - we were stuck listening to her. However, she did leak an important tid-bit about the new Photopass add ons that were coming up.
Finally, the girls and I got away, and went into the gift shop... Where we purchased an Eeyore stuffed toy - for me, because I had a sudden "love of Eeyore"... The girls actually fell for it. In reality, I was purchasing it for MM - who was yet to be named. Here's a photo of Max with Eeyore the day after we got home:
Then we checked in for our Dinner at Ohana. We were looking forward to the food here, we had heard so many great things about it. Yet again - we were still on food overload.
We had to wait quite a while for Ohana to open, so we just sat around...
We were the second family to be called into the restaurant - I took a picture because it was so empty:
The view out the window at our table:
I think this was our bread pudding plate???
Victoria's Bread Pudding:
Again... this was another meal that "wasn't as good as Dad's"...
I felt like they bring the food out in order of "price" at Ohanas. So, by the time they bring out the higher priced menu items (the beef and shrimp) - you're full and will take less. We felt the beef was tough - and we really don't find shrimp with the legs still attached all that appetizing.
Our favorites at this meal were the Pad Thai type noodles, and the Potstickers. We also really enjoyed the Bread Pudding (again) with bananas and caramel sauce... I only had one little serving of this - but the girls ordered seconds - LOL. I was too stuffed and sick of food - I couldn't eat another thing!
We finished up our meal, and tipped our server, then we hopped the Monorail to the MK. Loree (
Tinkerbell13) was texting me at the end of dinner, they had just finished their dinner at Wilderness Lodge, and were headed to the front gates of MK to meet up with us. She told me that we'd recognize her by their shirts... LOL I had no idea what she was talking about, so I was staring at everyone's shirts that passed us by - hoping I'd recognize them. LOL
Finally, Loree found us - LOL. We chatted for a long time - Loree and her DH are so sweet! They had just driven down from Canada the day before - I can't imagine driving that far. It was so much fun meeting them! Victoria swears her DH looked just like the dad on Diary of a Whimpy Kid. LOL I have yet to see that movie to verify - but I think he enjoyed that she thought he looked famous. LOL We also had a CM join in for a large portion of our conversation - which we got a kick out of - but he really didn't want to leave, and he stayed with us for a loooong time - even got in on our group photo...
Loree... It was so much fun meeting you and your Dh - I am so glad we got the chance to do that. I have to say that the girls were really annoyed that I was planning to do all of these "Dismeets" on our trip, but once they got to meet a few people (especially Liddy and their family) - they came to love our Dismeets and really enjoyed meeting everyone. It didn't take them too long to realize that a Dismeet isn't an all day event (except the one Epcot day that I told them would be - LOL)... It was just a quick meet, and then you went on with your day. The loved it and loved everyone they met!
At the end of our visit with Loree and her DH - I was texting
April (I don't know her Dis name, but she is a Disboutiquer), her and her family were walking over from the Contemporary to meet us. It was so much fun meeting her as well - but we didn't get a picture. She was so sweet. I am very glad that the girls and I got the chance to meet her, because very soon here - her and her family are moving to The Netherlands. I am not sure when they will get a chance to come back - her DH is a professor and was offered a job at the college in Rotterdam. I promised her that if we get over there to visit Josh's brother and wife, we will definately do a Dis Meet in The Netherlands with her. We wish them all the best of luck!
Once we were finished with our Dismeets - we took the bus back to POFQ. Victoria went down to the courtyard to watch Lady and the Tramp on the big screen.
She came up a short time later - she never finished the movie - and we all went to bed.
