Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

sounds like a very fun night! bonus having Josh do the clean up!

I'm definately going to try those wontons! Thanks for the recipe!!

AMAZING!!! That cake is a work of art! I have done the smallest ammount of cake decorating - and to be able to get the curly mountain into a cake... JUST WOW!!! It's beautiful.

And your sister's wedding was beautiful... I love how her dress, fits the total theme, but yet it's not "Sally"... You know? BEAUTFUL!!! Thank you for sharing with us!

D~

Lol Thanks but the swirl is part of the statue we used as a cake topper(everyone thought it was made of cake) so I can not take credit for it!! I will however take credit for the rest of it as that was my first try working with fondant :goodvibes and you cant see me blushing through the computer!

Loving the idea of a progressive dinner party!

Yummmy .... everything sounded wonderful.

How sweet of Josh  to do the dishes. I am very lucky that DH helps around the house too and lately I feel bad as he is always picking up since I have been trying to finish things for our trip.:scared:

It was a lot of fun! And it was so nice that Josh cleaned up. :)

I'm definately going to try those wontons! Thanks for the recipe!!

You'll have to try time. The first time I ever made them - I made them for Zach's welcome home from Iraq party - I have't made them since and that was almost 2 years ago. Zach actually remembered them from his party - LOL.

Glad you and your neighbors had a great time! :goodvibes

Yes, we had a lot of fun! We have plans to do it again soon.

It's still a magnificant cake! I have never worked with fondant - but that came out beautiful!

It was! Kudos to your DH for helping out while you finish up your trip stuff! :thumbsup2

Just so everyone knows... I am uploading pictures right now for my next update. :artist:

I woke the girls at 9:15... I had plans of letting them sleep in, but I couldn't let them stay in bed all day. Despite the fact that it was technically our "day off" we still had things to do and people to see.

We decided to go down to Sassagoula Floatworks to have breakfast... I took a few more pictures on our way out the door - it looks like it was going to be a gorgeous day... after the pouring rain yesterday, we needed it.

Allison in the distance... Waiting for the Mom (with short legs) to catch up.

IMG_4072.jpg

We ordered our breakfast and sat in Scat Cat's lounge, since the seating there is much more quiet and secluded.

While the girls and I were eating, someone came up to our table, introduced herself from The Dis as MerissaAndMomLoveDis... She had recognized my bags! This really made my day. She had been following along on my PTR, and posted a couple of times, then when she saw my bag while the girls and I were ordering our food - she decided that she would introduce herself. The girls and I chatted with her for a little while, and then she excused herself to go eat with her family. I just have to say to her - Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to introduce yourself - it really made me feel special that someone recognized my bag and said hi to us. It was great meeting you and I hope you had a wonderful trip!

Then we were off... Mission: DTD! Despite the fact that we have been to WDW 3 times now, we had never once made it to DTD, so we were quite excited!

We boarded the river boats for a nice scenic ride - where I took far too many pictures. LOL

IMG_4074.jpg

I thought that POFQ looked gorgeous from the river...

IMG_4075.jpg

IMG_4077.jpg

IMG_4078.jpg

We passed the Treehouse Villas on the way - we thought they looked neat - again, our resort was better!

IMG_4080.jpg

After a nice relaxing boat ride, we were approaching DTD:

IMG_4084.jpg

IMG_4085.jpg

IMG_4089.jpg

Our first order of business was WoD... We've heard great things about this being the "biggest Disney store ever" - so we had to check it out. I took lots of pictures inside the store...

IMG_4091.jpg

IMG_4092.jpg

IMG_4094.jpg

Allison was on a mission for Flip flops - her's were falling apart... Since they were 2 fors... V ended up with a pair too...

Alli's are on the very right - The MM Damask flip-flops. V's are the Mickey Mouse comic strip ones next to them...

Disney-Flip-Flops.jpg

(image borrowed from DisneyDreaming.com)

Victoria was still on her mission for a snow globe... She was also looking for a "smaller" Dug for Allison - but we looked everywhere, and we could find nothing but a gigantic one. V is such a sweet girl... She can have a large amount of cash in her pocket, and she will choose to spend it on someone else, rather than spend it on herself. I do not think she purchased anything from WoD.

I did find my souvenirs here though... I've known that I've wanted these for a long time... I purchased the Disney family car decals - one for each of us + Max. I really wanted to get 2 dogs - one for Rufus too... but the girls couldn't know about the 2nd dog. So, until we went back again, we'd just have to deal with one doggie decal. I also got one other decal - the one that says "My other car is a Monorail"... I love it! However, none of them are on my Edge yet... I really need to get them on there.

Once we finished at WoD, we were headed to the Pin Trading store... We had a time limit, because we had a Dismeet planned!

IMG_4097.jpg

The girls found a Donald & Daisy statue for me to pose by:

IMG_4100.jpg

And Allison has been searching at every park for Russel and Dug - but they have been no where. I knew before we got there that Disney had discontinued their official Meet n' Greet before we got there, but we were still hoping to find them somewhere. We asked in each park every single day - we even asked Demetrius - but no luck. They were no where. It's too sad that she was very excited to find this in the pin trading store - so I took her picture in front of them... Even though it wasn't officially a Russel and Dug Meet n' Greet - it was the best we could do.

/
It was during this whole time, I was texting back and forth with Tink (LovethatTink), her and her DH and DS were searching for a parking spot at DTD, they were on their way to meet the girls and I for lunch at EoS. When she told us that they found a spot, and were on their way, the girls and I paid for our stuff (V bought Alli the "Grape Soda" pin that she'd been wanting - so sweet of her!) and went outside to wait for Tink and her family.

I was super excited to meet Tink and the rest of her family. They are all so sweet - my girls fell in love with little Anikin. Tink's DH and Ani went and found a seat in EoS, while Tink, the girls and I got in line. The line was quite long, but it moved very quickly - which we were prepared for - I'd read that many times on The Dis. So, we figured out what we wanted to order, and I followed Tink's cue, because we had never ordered here before and it looked a little confusing.

Allison ordered the Earl's Club
Victoria ordered the Cannonballs (meat ball sub - surprise)
And I ordered the Original 1762

We also got a side of potato salad to share and Frozen Lemonades... Since we were paying for this meal OOP - we didn't get any desserts. And we didn't want to eat too much, because we had a huge dinner coming up tonight and we were getting sick of eating - honestly.

Everything was delicious!

Diring lunch the girls and Ani chatted - it was so cute! Ani knows a lot about video games, and the girls left lunch very educated!

Tink invited us to help her pick out her birthday present... A Minnie themed Harvey bag from Tren-D. I was super excited because I really wanted to see this store, and picking out bags is right up my alley! After some deliberation and coaxing the CM to actually open the case so she could look at the different bags - we finally found one that fit her best - it's super cute! I hope she'll post a picture of it, because I didn't take any.

Once we were done picking out her bday gift - we went to meet back up with her DH and DS, who had ventured into the Lego store...

On the way - Tink offered to take a picture of the girls and I - which was super nice, because the only pictures we got of all 3 of us together were the PHotopass pictures.

IMG_4114.jpg

I snapped a few pictures

IMG_4115.jpg

IMG_4116.jpg

It wasn't until I realized that we needed to leave DTD if the girls wanted to get back to the resort to swim for a little while before we headed out to our dinner ADR - then we decided to get a picture of all of us together - courtesy of Tink's DH.

IMG_4118.jpg

And then we had to leave... We were all so sad - the girls and I truly enjoyed meeting Tink and her family - we hope to meet them again on our next trip. They still talk about Ani all the time - during their short meet - Ani managed to capture their hearts, it was so sweet.

After we parted ways, we hopped on the first boat back to POFQ... Again, I snapped a few pictures on the way back:

IMG_4119.jpg

IMG_4122.jpg

The girls and I reflected on our morning at DTD, and we all wished we could have spent more time there.

Once we got back to POFQ- There was a male Mousekeeper (not our normal female) cleaning our room - it was very awkward, becuase he didn't want to leave so the girls could change, but we were on a time limit - the girls changed quickly in the bathroom and went down to the pool. I stayed in the room to relax and Dis for a little while. They only had about a half hour to swim before they had to be back to our room to change and hop a bus to MK for our dinner ADR.

We took the bus to MK, we were surprised that the Monorail was actually running, so we got on the Monorail and rode it around the the Poly. This was our first Monorail ride of our trip, because of the building of the new DVC Grand Floridian resort, the Monorail wasn't supposed to be operating between the hours of 11 am and 6 pm - but it was running today...

IMG_4131.jpg

IMG_4132.jpg

IMG_4133.jpg

IMG_4134.jpg

IMG_4135.jpg

We rode around through the Contemporary, and got off at the Poly.

IMG_4136.jpg

Despite the fact that we have never stayed at the Poly, we still feel a connection to this resort. When we stayed at SoG in 2008, we spent a LOT of time at the Poly, since we used their monorail and transportation frequently. Even though we didn't stay there - it still felt like we were staying there, if that makes sense? So, it was really fun to come here and smell the familliar smells and enjoy the resort again.

IMG_4137.jpg

This is where we got stuck talking to the Photopass person at the kiosk... She wouldn't let us leave and just kept talking - don't get me wrong - she was super nice. But we just really wanted to enjoy the Poly, but since we are "MN nice" - we were stuck listening to her. However, she did leak an important tid-bit about the new Photopass add ons that were coming up.

IMG_4139.jpg

Finally, the girls and I got away, and went into the gift shop... Where we purchased an Eeyore stuffed toy - for me, because I had a sudden "love of Eeyore"... The girls actually fell for it. In reality, I was purchasing it for MM - who was yet to be named. Here's a photo of Max with Eeyore the day after we got home:

IMG_4741.jpg

Then we checked in for our Dinner at Ohana. We were looking forward to the food here, we had heard so many great things about it. Yet again - we were still on food overload. :crazy2:

We had to wait quite a while for Ohana to open, so we just sat around...

IMG_4140.jpg

We were the second family to be called into the restaurant - I took a picture because it was so empty:

IMG_4142.jpg

I think this was our bread pudding plate???
IMG_4146.jpg

Victoria's Bread Pudding:

IMG_4156.jpg

Again... this was another meal that "wasn't as good as Dad's"...

I felt like they bring the food out in order of "price" at Ohanas. So, by the time they bring out the higher priced menu items (the beef and shrimp) - you're full and will take less. We felt the beef was tough - and we really don't find shrimp with the legs still attached all that appetizing.

Our favorites at this meal were the Pad Thai type noodles, and the Potstickers. We also really enjoyed the Bread Pudding (again) with bananas and caramel sauce... I only had one little serving of this - but the girls ordered seconds - LOL. I was too stuffed and sick of food - I couldn't eat another thing!

We finished up our meal, and tipped our server, then we hopped the Monorail to the MK. Loree (Tinkerbell13) was texting me at the end of dinner, they had just finished their dinner at Wilderness Lodge, and were headed to the front gates of MK to meet up with us. She told me that we'd recognize her by their shirts... LOL I had no idea what she was talking about, so I was staring at everyone's shirts that passed us by - hoping I'd recognize them. LOL

Finally, Loree found us - LOL. We chatted for a long time - Loree and her DH are so sweet! They had just driven down from Canada the day before - I can't imagine driving that far. It was so much fun meeting them! Victoria swears her DH looked just like the dad on Diary of a Whimpy Kid. LOL I have yet to see that movie to verify - but I think he enjoyed that she thought he looked famous. LOL We also had a CM join in for a large portion of our conversation - which we got a kick out of - but he really didn't want to leave, and he stayed with us for a loooong time - even got in on our group photo...

IMG_4157.jpg

Loree... It was so much fun meeting you and your Dh - I am so glad we got the chance to do that. I have to say that the girls were really annoyed that I was planning to do all of these "Dismeets" on our trip, but once they got to meet a few people (especially Liddy and their family) - they came to love our Dismeets and really enjoyed meeting everyone. It didn't take them too long to realize that a Dismeet isn't an all day event (except the one Epcot day that I told them would be - LOL)... It was just a quick meet, and then you went on with your day. The loved it and loved everyone they met!

At the end of our visit with Loree and her DH - I was texting April (I don't know her Dis name, but she is a Disboutiquer), her and her family were walking over from the Contemporary to meet us. It was so much fun meeting her as well - but we didn't get a picture. She was so sweet. I am very glad that the girls and I got the chance to meet her, because very soon here - her and her family are moving to The Netherlands. I am not sure when they will get a chance to come back - her DH is a professor and was offered a job at the college in Rotterdam. I promised her that if we get over there to visit Josh's brother and wife, we will definately do a Dis Meet in The Netherlands with her. We wish them all the best of luck!

Once we were finished with our Dismeets - we took the bus back to POFQ. Victoria went down to the courtyard to watch Lady and the Tramp on the big screen.

She came up a short time later - she never finished the movie - and we all went to bed.

Once again a great update on your trip. I love looking at all the pictures from your trip.

What a fun day full of DIS meets!

I will second that Anakin is a little sweetie, we were blessed to keep meeting up with them in Oct....it confused him a bit though, because we would tell him we'd see him in two years and then would get to meet up the next day again....Tink and Goofy are great too! and we look forward to spending time with them next thanksgiving trip!

we love DTD and usually go there at least 1-2 times....just to eat at EoS if possible!
love at V is so sweet buying gifts for others! we have our disney mom and girl decals on our car and license plate holder too!

must agree about the food at O'hanas...while it was good, was way to much...don't think we'd go back unless it was with a larger group...the resort is beautiful, megan would like to spend a night or two someday there.

so I got an idea of a UPB for me for our trip next year....when you have time next year to make it for me, I think it would be really cute!!!!

Love your pictures and updates! :)

We never did make it to Downtown Disney when we were there last year. It looks so nice - will have to plan a day there for the next trip! We only had 5 days in the world, so we had to try and make it all count. We left out DHS and Downtown Disney and discovered that AK and Epcot would definitely be multi days for us next time - all the more to plan for next time!

I'm so glad you had an amazing day!!

I honestly didn't know you could take a boat from POFQ to DTD. That's awesome!

I'm glad you and your girls adored Anakin as much as me and my kids did! He's such a sweety!

EoS is one of our favorites! I love the hawaiian sandwich!! YUM!

Where's that display you mentioned in a PM? :confused3

I'm glad you finally made it to DTD! We love going to DTD, and have been every year.

That was so sweet that V bought A a pin! Your girls are just so precious and amazing! I love how you got to help Tink pick out her gift! I hope she pops in with a picture!!

I think I'd starve at O'hana ... as I'd be waiting for the beef and shrimp. :lmao: It's not really on my "must do".... I wouldn't mind breakfast there, because DD has asked to eat with Stitch and Lilo ... but not sure I'd do dinner. It just doesn't seem as appealing to me.

That's so awesome that you made friends with the CMs everywhere you went!!!

I can see why V thinks Loree's DH looks like the dad in DoaWK. I totally see the resemeblance. It's not a dead-on look, but yeah, I can see it! :thumbsup2

That's awesome that you had so many DISmeets! I'm jealous! :rotfl2:

Great update.
really neat you had so many dismeets
the pictures from the boat ride are cool
EoS is on our list of must haves at DTD.

love the new update.

I like DD but we usually cut that out of our trip to rest though we did get there in April

Very cool you had an impromtu meet with MerissaAndMomLoveDis!

Then we were off... Mission: DTD! Despite the fact that we have been to WDW 3 times now, we had never once made it to DTD, so we were quite excited!

Never been to DTD? I knew you had never eaten at EoS, but I just assumed you had been to DTD.

Once we finished at WoD, we were headed to the Pin Trading store... We had a time limit, because we had a Dismeet planned!

IMG_4105.jpg

D~

We have never seen that Russel and Dug display! Anakin loves that movie now, but hated it when it first came out. All the scenes of animal cruelty were too emotional for him.

He didn't understand fiction. He thought those cartoon characters were real. He's learning to differentiate now. When we went to see Mirror Mirror he had to ask a couple times, then exclaimed that those were the best writers of a movie EVER!

We will have to put that display on our bucket list.

You forgot to mention that while you were waiting for us V checked out the fountains in front of Once Upon a Toy. Poor girl froze at EoS with the air conditioning!

Everything was delicious!

Diring lunch the girls and Ani chatted - it was so cute! Ani knows a lot about video games, and the girls left lunch very educated!

Not sure the girls got a word in edge-wise. He was non-stop chatter the whole lunch. They probably heard more about Star Wars in that little bit of time than they had their entire life!!

Appreciate the help!! I haven't taken any pictures of it. The bottom is starting to look worn though at the corners. I've used it alot. TrenD is a fun store!

Once we were done picking out her bday gift - we went to meet back up with her DH and DS, who had ventured into the Lego store...

It wasn't until I realized that we needed to leave DTD if the girls wanted to get back to the resort to swim for a little while before we headed out to our dinner ADR - then we decided to get a picture of all of us together - courtesy of Tink's DH.

IMG_4118.jpg

Anakin wants to know when we will see you all again?

And then we had to leave... We were all so sad - the girls and I truly enjoyed meeting Tink and her family - we hope to meet them again on our next trip. They still talk about Ani all the time - during their short meet - Ani managed to capture their hearts, it was so sweet.

We very much enjoyed meeting you all as well! Look forward to the next time! He loved your girls as well.

You asked him to step out and he wouldn't? Usually it's the opposite they don't want to be in the room if the guests are.

I've never seen a photopass person there. Will have to look next time. I don't like the new changes to photopass. I'm glad we pre-purchased the cd for $99. It's all gone up so much since.

Oh my goodness!! That is just too cute!! You need to post a then and now picture for this!!

Then we checked in for our Dinner at Ohana. We were looking forward to the food here, we had heard so many great things about it. Yet again - we were still on food overload. :crazy2:

We had to wait quite a while for Ohana to open, so we just sat around...

Ohana use to be Grumpy's favorite place to celebrate his b-day. Those horribly, messy shrimp were his favorite!!

You're window seat would have been great for a later seating near firworks time!

The bread pudding is the best part of the meal. We found the beef fatty and tough too. Happened too often with the beef, so we switched to WCC for b-day celebrations

We finished up our meal, and tipped our server, then we hopped the Monorail to the MK. Loree (Tinkerbell13) was texting me at the end of dinner, they had just finished their dinner at Wilderness Lodge, and were headed to the front gates of MK to meet up with us. Wow! 3 DIS meets in one day! How fun!

I'm so glad you had an amazing day!!

I honestly didn't know you could take a boat from POFQ to DTD. That's awesome!

Yes, that's the best perk of staying at POR or POFQ!!

I'm glad you and your girls adored Anakin as much as me and my kids did! He's such a sweety!

:rotfl2:

Wish it would have worked out to see you guys too! Anakin's seizures were not cooperating during that time. But now he is 15 days seizure free!! Would have loved to see your kids again, though he might not remember them if they weren't dressed at a mermaid and pirate

Cool about all the Dis Meets! How fun that you got to meet April...did you know that she is back at Disney today? Last trip before they head off to Europe!

Since D"s tr is popular and I hijack it all the name, and since my ds saved his homework until last minute could five people please answer this question:
Of these five sharks which is your favorite:
Black Tip
Sand Tip
Bull Shark
Tiger Shark
Great White

Thank you for letting me hijack once again D~

And thank you to anyone who responds!

Seriously... What if I hate sharks??? They are all ugly and could potentially eat me... If there are any on that list that are vegetarians - that would be my favorite. :)
