So, for those of you that have been following me for a while, know I like to do nice things for others - especially when they have gone out of their way to do things for me (or others)... I really try hard to take notice.
This person should come as no surprise to you...
Blyssfull (Beth) has done so many nice things for others. She has participated in many Big Gives, and besides that - she did many wonderful things for the girls and I over the course of the last year, and never once would she let me pay her for even the supplies she used.
First of all, Beth Pixie Dusted the girls and I with some hair bows and activity sets for on our trip (an adorable Mickey Mouse Tic-Tac-Toe set), this was before Christmas... (I know some of these pictures won't show up until the 7th, but I don't want to forget to come back to post them later)...
Not only that, but she offered to help me put the words on to Allison's Haunted Mansion bag I was making her for Christmas... Even went out to buy matching thread, added a new font to her computer... Just went way above and beyond... Again - she wouldn't let me pay her a dime for her work or materials.
Then... I placed an order for a few clippies (OK- lots) to match our outfits, she even figured out a way to get them to attach to my flip-flops, so I could have cute flips... I am serious when I say that she made, at least, 20 clippies for us (it really could have been more, I didn't actually count)... They are all so adorable - and they were perfect! And she made me a really cool T-shirt that I wore on our 2nd AK day. Again... Beth wouldn't even let me pay her for her materials - many of them she went out and purchased specifically for me - and this is stuff I
ordered from her... You know, a genuine order... Nope, wouldn't take a dime... Nothing...
It was at this time, Beth revealed to me that she was trying to work her way in trade for a UPB... at that point she felt that she had earned a zippered wallet... I almost let it slip in a PM to her that I was planning to make her a UPB when we returned from our trip... I felt so badly, as it was, that I had to make her wait that long. And as hard as it was - I was able to keep my mouth shut what I was really planning.
So, the girls and I went on our trip... And we had a lot of fun wearing the clippies and extras that Beth (and many of our other Dis friends) made for us...
When we got home, I got to work rigth away on Beth's UPB... I knew what I wanted to do - sometimes I just crave working with a specific character... And I knew that Beth loved Beauty and the Beast (especially Belle)... I decided to make her UPB with that theme in mind...
As much as I knew she'd really love to have Belle on the front... I really, really wanted to do a bag with Mrs. Potts and Chip on it... I feel really badly that my inspiration took over, because I think she would have liked it better the other way - but it turned out cute anyways.
I had this beautiful light blue fabric that I was saving for Beth's UPB, and I quilted it in a pale yellow color... For some reason - these two colors really seem "Belle" to me? Not only that, but officially - this is the first bag that I used the ruffle accent on for the slip in pocket... but I couldn't show you all that at the time. LOL
And then, I was PMing
Marianne one night, telling her about my to-do list, because I was soooo swamped. She offered to use her new embroidery machine to applique Belle on the front of one of my zippered wallets, because she wanted to Pixie Dust Beth too... So, I cut out a bunch of my wallets, and quilted them, then off in the mail they went to Marriane... Where we schemed and planned how this was all going to come together. Marianne did an amazing job on the wallet, and she was super quick - I couldn't believe it!

Before I knew it, they were back in my mail box, all finished - so then I assembled it... and added a cute little ruffled pocket on the back...
Please give Marianne all the credit for the applique on the wallet - because I didn't do a thing with that one...
So, in the midst of making these items for Beth... She contacted me when I was swamped with an order, and she offered to make me a bunch of LGMHs so that I can attach them to the UPBs... This was a huge lifesaver for me. Even though I don't mind doing it, it's sometimes tedious and to be honest - I've almost forgotten several times, so I took Beth up on her offer... Again, she wouldn't let me pay her anything...

However, she was willing to trade me for a journal cover....

So, I added the journal cover to her pile, since I hadn't quite finished the wallet yet (at that point). I decided that the journal cover had to be Cogsworth (and I couldn't put the magnetic snap closure on it, because he took up the whole front - LOL).
Since I had just a bit of fabric left... I also made her a lanyard, so she could carry just her zippered wallet on lighter days, if she chose... I carried my zippered wallets like that a lot on our trip, it just made it easier - even when I was carrying my UPB...
And, last but not least... The "thing" I've mentioned a few times recently, something I could have used on our trip, but I didn't make... A sunglass case. Many times, I would take off my sunglasses, and I would have to shove them into my UPB, and even though they were just cheapo ones (wouldn't bring my expensive ones to Disney in case I lost them) - I didn't want them scratched. I kicked myself several times while we were in Disney, because I didn't have a sunglass case. So, I've been messing with designs on paper, and decided to use Beth's set as the perfect excuse to try one out. LOL So, this is just a prototype... It still needs a bit of adjusting, but it turned out pretty good.
I finally got everything put together on Saturday & shipped it off...
Oh, but wait, that's not the end of the story... There's more...
You see, for the fun of it - after work yesterday, I decided to go to usps.com and enter the tracking info... I was super excited to see that it was near Beth's house - out for delivery actually.

So, about an hour later, I refreshed the screen - and it said "package undeliverable as addressed"... WHAT?????? Seriously???? So, I texted Marianne - I didn't know what to do... She told me that I should contact Beth, maybe she could call her local PO? But it was a gift - I didn't want to ruin the surprise... So, I googled the phone # for Beth's local PO, and I called them myself. I was a bit nervous, because here I am with my "thick MN accent" (so we were told several times in WDW) calling Beth's PO... LOL That poor clerk probably thought I was nuts - but I was VERY nice - so maybe that made me less nuts? I dunno?

Anyways... I explained my situation to Winston, and he informed me that the package had just left on the 4 pm truck back to the distribution center and eventually back to MN. He assured me that he would talk to Beth's carrier in the morning, and find out why it wasn't deliverable (I had just verified with Marianne that this was indeed Beth's address, and Marianne had also PMed Beth to double check - with out looking suspicious, of course), and then he would call me back sometime today. Ok, "thanks so much" I said, in my sweetest voice. He didn't call me back today... but I had a text from Beth (via FB) when I got off of work saying that she got the package and all sorts of nice things.

As I was typing this up, Winston called me back... I told him that the package was delivered today, and I was just in the process of calling him to personally thank him - I don't know what he did to get the package delivered today... But if anyone is ever in Beth's PO, and encounters Winston - please give him a big hug from MN - he totally deserves it!
Then he'll think you're nuts too!
So, that's it. I've been working on this Pixie Dust for Beth since we returned (can you believe it's been 6 weeks already?)... And I am so happy that she received it today!
Thank you Beth for all you did for the girls and I... and for all you do for others... It doesn't go un-noticed.

And I am so glad that I have a friend like you.
D~ <---- FYI... I wonder who is next to recieve some PD from D~??????
