So where were we. Oh ya, I was still wandering around DHS. I decided at this point that it would be a good time for lunch. Odd thing about DHS though. Because I don’t care for this park much…we rarely eat here. I’ve eaten at Pizza Planet and Mama Melrose’s only.
So I went with what I knew and went to Pizza Planet. WRONG CHOICE. I got into line. It was long but didn’t look too bad. AGAIN WRONG! I was in back of a group from Argentina…who I truly believe were stealing pizzas. They kept getting trays, passing them to the person in the back of the group and then saying that they didn’t get everything. The CMs were not good about counting everything so they were getting really confused. It ended up taking me 40 minutes to get my lunch. 40 MINUTES! Needless to say, I wolfed down that veggie pizza and diet coke by the time I got it. 40 minutes to get it…30 seconds to eat it!
After that, I walked around again and discovered this:
Wait a minute…I’m a passholder now! So I flashed my AP and went into this
It was so much fun. If you have a chance, definitely check in out. The three singers we had during our competition were amazing…so amazing that I couldn’t pick one. Basically you get to vote for a singer from a control in your seat. The winner goes onto that days’ finals and the winner of the finals’ gets a “golden ticket” to a REAL Idol audition. Luckily the two seats next to me were empty so I voted for all 3 (each on one seat!). Disney outdid themselves with this one. You would SWEAR that you were on the real idol set. Alas no pictures. Because it was a soft opening preview, we weren’t allowed to take any pictures.
After that I wandered around some more taking pictures
I wandered in and out of all the stores when FINALLY my cell phone rang about 5:45pm. It was Stacy…she was finally at DHS. I ran down the street and hugged her like she was my long lost twin. Poor Stacy probably thought I was some kind of nut. You have to understand. I come from a big loud Irish family. You meet my family…you are getting hugged. Probably kissed. Just how we are. So didn’t think twice about hugging Stacy.
We immediately decided to try a ride before dinner. We head over to RnR and ToT. The line was insane for both of them. We decided to go single rider on RnR. While waiting in the line we were in back of a VERY annoying Floridian teenager who spent the entire wait dispensing her vast Disney knowledge to us. And some of it was completely wrong!
However, she was NOTHING compared to the school girls from Argentina. OH MY GOD. First of all, there were literally about a 100 of them in the fastpass line. 2nd of all, they were cheering LOUDLY…with moves. But they were apparently from competing schools because one group would yell one thing and the next would yell something back. This went on for the ENTIRE ride wait. People in between the two groups actually start booing. So now we are in line, with annoying Florida chick in front of us, Argentinian girls SCREAMING cheers, and American tourist booing all at once. It made Aerosmith seem quiet!
Bonus though: Despite being single rider- they let Stacy and I ride together. YAY! Now you must be thinking “Kristine you have been waiting all day for Stacy…you must have IMMEDIATELY photographed her” Um nope…never took a single picture of her that night!
But I did take a picture of her food! After RnR we headed over to Sci-Fi to see if we could be seated early. They ended up seating us ½ hour before our ADR time. (YAY again!). They had changed the menu that was online and as odd as it sounds, Stacy and I had both been looking forward to having burgers. But fear not, this is Disney…they accommodate. We got our burgers. We also got the new “Celebration” themed drink “Magical Star” (I also got a cherry coke…which is included on the
DDP in case anyone was wondering)
I didn’t take pics of our burgers because they are burgers. But I did take pics of our desserts. Stacy and I originally both ordered the peanut butter fudge cake…until I heard the waitress at the table next to us describing all the desserts and mentioned that the PB fudge cake had candied nuts on the top. Odd fact about me: I have a nut allergy….EXCEPT for peanuts. Weird right? So I couldn’t get the cake. When I told our waiter…he ran back to the kitchen to find out what was in all the desserts. I didn’t ask him to do it. He just did. LOVE DISNEY CUSTOMER SERVICE! He came back and told me that I could have the new “Celebration” themed dessert. So I did
If you are wondering if that is a piece of cheesecake with caramel drizzle, with popcorn and M&Ms, and a white chocolate picture of a castle stuck in top…you’d be right. It was a little slice of heaven.
Here is Stacy’s cake (sorry pic is blurry)
There was a rather nice waiter (not ours) who admired my camera and gave me some picture suggestions. He would yell from other tables when Walt was going to pop up on the screen. Thank you mystery waiter.
