Woke up nice and early today as we have the Keys to the Kingdom Tour booked for 8.40.
I walked up to the Artist Pallet to collect our morning cups of tea and brought them back to the room to drink whilst we got ready. We jumped in the car and being the last day I chose today to lose my sense of direction completely! Obviously being Male, I blamed everyone else for not looking at the signs and telling me which way to go
!!
We were cutting it a bit fine by the time we parked at Magic Kingdom and after the short walk/run from the front of the parking lot to the monorail we sat and waited on a train for ages, becoming more and more anxious that the tour would start without us and we wouldn't be allowed to catch them up.
Eventually we zip round to MK and rush through the side channel for the people allowed in early for reservations etc. We check in and find that although we are the last three to arrive the rest of the tour is patiently waiting for us.
Successfully kitted out with passes and microphone packs and earpieces we are led off by our guide Debbie.
Now, just in case anyone reading is looking forward to doing this tour, I shan't go into detail. I had deliberately avoided any trip reports that detailed this tour as I wanted to keep it new and interesting. I'm glad I did as it was superb!!!! We toured Main St, various 'backstage' areas, the utilidoors, and rode two rides. Lunch was provided in Columbia Harbour House and was very nice indeed.
Some 5 hours later we handed back our passes, all feeling very tired but all very happy indeed!
We strolled back out onto main st and grabbed a photo or two
My timings had worked to perfection and we jumped into our first FP for Buzz Lightyear
Stopping off by the Auntie Gravity's to spend some more snack credits on yummy sundaes!
Straight from there we wandered over to Thunder Mountain for our next FP. - bypassing a lengthy 50 minute queue.
We walked back down Main St just as the parade started so we grabbed some cake pops after browsing the huge range of lovely goodies and watched a little as the floats passed by.
And then the time had come to bid a final tearful farewell to the Magic Kingdom and with heavy hearts we departed back to the car and drove back to SSR.
We dropped into the Artist Palette and converted some of our unused QS credits into snacks and stocked up on tons of sweets to take home as pressies for our DD and her boyfriend. The manager was fabulous in letting us convert the credits and also showing us what we could grab!
Following yesterdays re-arrangement of dinner plans we strolled round to Downtown and all the way round to Crossraods at the House Of Blues.
We'd never been in here for dinner and the atmosphere was lovely. Nice and relaxed and our server (Bubba) was superb. Relaxed, funny, knowledgeable and knew when to leave you alone to eat!
Bottles of Bud and a Devils Triangle Beer for Jack to start and then a very lovely meal. NY Strip steak for me, Bacon Cheeseburger for Jack and Tacos for Paulet.
Desserts were : Bread Pudding for Paulet, Choc Mousse for Jack and a Key Lime Pie for me ( the best Key Lime Pie of the whole holiday! - and I had a few !!!)
The walk back was very slow, partly as we were very tired but also, I think, as we really didn't want to leave as we new we had to pack and prepare for going home tomorrow
Dining Plan - Day 14
3 snack credits at Auntie Gravity's ($10.22)
4 snack credits at the Confectionery shop ($13.24)
12 QS converted credits at Artist Palette ($unknown)
3 TS credits at House of Blues ($87.93)
