"Seven Seven 07" 20070707-11 Night Mediterranean Cruise

Hi,
I was reading your post and noticed you lived in CA, we live in CA too and will also be on the 7-7-07 cruise. Where at in CA do you live? We are south O.C. We have a boy 8 and girl 4. We are all so excited for this vacation, it is coming soon. This is our first Disney Cruise so we have not booked anything yet. 1 more week to book.
Kay

Welcome aboard ... It's my first cruise as well, are you planning on booking at mignight? You are lucky .. I have to wait until 3 am to book! Let me know what you get if you are online!

Thanks for posting some specific details. Since this is our first trip to Europe and we are visiting London and Paris post-cruise, I'm taking notes on things to do and places to go (eat). There are so many choices - knowing some good places to eat will help with the some decisions.

Anyone else have any "must go to"s?

I'm going to be in London and Paris before the cruise. We should try to get together so I can pass on some tips and suggestions!

aloha everybody:cool1: :thumbsup2 :lmao:
Anybody staying at the Atena Mar Hotel in Barcelona before the cruise? We'll be in Barcelona 2 days prior to the cruise. Maybe we could all get together and have drink ot two to celebrate our luck Triple 7 cruise. We can get to meet as many people before the cruise so we won't be strangers when we see each other on the ship.
We can exchange info on our excursion and any tibbits that would help everyone experience a great cruise.

I'm just about two blocks away from you at the Hilton Diagonal Mar .. We arrive on the 6th at about 4:30. We actually arrive in Europe on the 29th of June. We will be spending time in London and Paris before the cruise. We will be one of the few who won't be tired on cruise day :). My daughter and I would love to get together for some sangria before the cruise!

Aloha,
That would be great. Hey you guys are arriving on my birthday. My wife and I would love to meet you and your daughter. My wife's cousin and family will be there too.
We are so excited:banana:

We arrive in London on July 5th and are staying at the Intercontinental London Park. Planning on sight seeing and Old Globe for at least 2 plays. I KNOW that we will go to an Indian Restuarant, Amaya, one night.

Our flight to BCN is British Air at 9:25am arriving at 12:30. Does anyone know what time we are supposed to board the ship?

I am guessing that our luggage will get picked up at the airport, that we may take the bus/shuttle to the Port. But I want to walk around from there. The Port is very close to some interesting parts of town.

The Outlook is a deck area behind the Spa. Studio Sea is indoors and is a family night club/ activity place on deck 5, I think.

Ah, we are on the really early flight to BCN on British Airways at 7:10 AM arriving at 10:15 AM. We are staying at a hotel just outside Heathrow Airport. We get to London in the evening on July 4th. We'll have two full days to show our daughters around. Our last trip to London was in 2004 without the girls.

I wish we had planned more time for Barcelona. I already extended our departure by one day so that we could explore a bit. I know it still won't be long enough though. :guilty:

I wonder when Disney will do the sailaway party, I'm assuming at 9 pm. So all those with late seating would miss it??:confused3 It says on the Disney site that we leave port at 9 pm.

We have early seating... Maybe we should do a new roll call and everyone can list who's in their party and whether they have early or late seating for dinner.

I called Disney about what time to board and they said the usual time between noon & 1 pm. We were planning on going to port early then, eat lunch at the buffet. After lunch if we aren't too tired we were gonna walk around the port area there. Otherwise, we weren't planning on touring Barcelona until the last day as our flight doesn't leave until the following day.

In addition to that I'm just not sure how we'll be feeling jetlag wise. So we might play it by ear for the 1st day. I'm coming from the West Coast. We fly out on July 5th at 4 pm arriving in Barcelona on July 6th at 4 pm. Would we be over jetlag by Saturday?

We have the late seating for Dinner. (Myself, DW, DD 7 & DD 9)

This may be a silly question, but it is my first cruise. Is everything up and running when you board the ship at 12 noon? (Restaurants, any activities, etc.) :hourglass

Not a dumb question .. I was wondering the same thing. It will just be me and my DD16. We too have late seating for Dinner. Chat with you on the 23rd in the wee hours as we wait to start booking our excursions!!! Good night.

Not a silly question at all. In Florida, normally you can board around noon and then, you either go to Parrot Cay or Topsiders for the afternoon buffet lunch. After lunch we usually end up hitting the pools. At this time it will be the least crowded. So we usually keep our swim suits under our clothes or in a day bag. Prior to boarding the ship you check your luggage and you will not see it until later that day. So it is important to have a day bag with all your essentials that you need. Also, during this time you can make SPA, PALO & flounders reservations. You can go the excursions desk. Usually, the staterooms won't be available until 1:30 or 2 pm. I can't remember the exact time. This is also a great time to get some photos of the ship and wander around. Each day you'll receive a Navigator (or activity sheet) with all the activities on it. You can go to this site to check out old navigators. They don't have a ton of activities the first day. At the main page just click on the Navigators.

Hope this helps... If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask... It will be great when the first group of cruisers report back because we'll have a better idea of what to expect.

You probably wont be too jet lagged going there. I didn't know we could check in and then also leave the ship. That sounds like a great plan!!!!

Yep... that's what the DCL rep told me. She said that you can even book tours. But I was just gonna keep that day open for wandering around...

Thanks for the heads up on the jet lag. So I guess, we'll be more tired going home.

Is O.C. = Orange County? We live in Northern California near Sacramento...

We are excited about the cruise, too!

Just reading your post and see you live near Sac. We do too! We live in Roseville! We will be on the cruise. Three of us, DH, DD 17, and me. We arrive in Barcelona 2 days early from Greece. We will be in Greece for 3 weeks before this cruise. We have late seating for dinner for the first time ever. Changed it when I saw all the long excursions. My first trip to Greece, Italy, and Spain. DH lived in Greece and has traveled all over. We can't wait.....

Thanks for the reply. We went ahead and booked the airport transfer from Disney. So, I hope that means we don't have to worry about our bags once they go on the bus at the airport. If we happen to get to the port a bit early, we might go explore before getting onboard. It all depends how excited the girls are about getting on the ship right away and exploring.

I will be heading to Las Vegas this Saturday. That means that I won't have to be up until 3 AM. :scared1: (At least local time) I will definitely be on Disboards too. Are you going to start checking at 12:01 AM EST just to be sure? Or will you wait until 12:01 PST? See ya there. :cool2:

Thanks for the reply and the link. :yay: I am really looking forward to checking out the ship. I'll keep the swim suits handy. The girls will want to jump in the first pool they see!

I may need to check out the excursions desk depending on what we get this Sunday night.

I'll probably do a quick check at 12:00 EST, but don't really expect to get anywhere. Good luck in Vegas... Hope you win enough to cover those excursions!

Wow what a small world. We live in Sacramento on the Carmichael border in the Arden/Arcade area. That is so funny. You are the second person on this cruse that is from Northern California. Someone else is from the Walnut Creek area.

Your trip sounds heavenly. You are gonna be on vacation for a month. How exciting! Can't wait to meet everyone.

We have two dds ages 6 and 9 and we have early seating...

Hi; I belive cohartman is from Walnut Creek. ... we are from Northern California too...from Pleasanton to be exact! My company have an office in Racho Cordova and I go up there every now and then. Have a few co-workers that live around the Roseville area...it's a small world after all... oh no... ... now I have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day!!!

No gambling for me this trip. Otherwise I REALLY won't be able to afford the excursions. :rotfl: I'm taking my girls for a long weekend to see their grandparents. I will be spending most of my time fixing my Dad's computer. It's gone way beyond anything that I can talk him through on the phone. :surfweb:

At least I will be in a good spot to hang out on the Disneycruise.com site for the excursions. I can even keep working on his PC while I wait... :badpc:

We fly in to Barcelona from London at 12:30 on the 7th-- same flight as Cohartman.

We (me, dh, dsthen10, ds6 and MIL) will have late dining. We are on deck 6, port side with one verandah stateroom and one inside stateroom.

We have transfers to and from the port. Hopefully we'll breeze through customs and get onboard as soon as possible. It's my favorite time of the week for the boys to be in the Mickey Pool and slide....least crowded and clear water.

We've always gotten into our staterooms around 1:30. I can't wait until the first 11 Day Med trip goes and someone posts the Navigators. It will be nice to see what night the shows are planned and what the activities, menus, etc. will be. From speaking to a DCL agen a month or so ago, he said they were still deciding on the show nights but had a set pirate night, formal night and 2 semi formal nights. He said the menus will focus on whatever food is famous in the next day's port. Kid's club activities will have lots of history on the ports.

Greetings All,

I was just going through the excursions and I thought I would post which ones seems to be still available.
