I just heard from Laura. I thought I would share this with all her AKL friends.

"Marco is well - his last check-up by the neurologist was perfect , I am very relieved.
My visus is a bit better , while colangitis isn't any better , though I am under treatment since 3 weeks.
I manage to go to school and teach , but feel tired and so down.
Dad is home , now we have Mom with a walking problem with the left leg ...
To be honest , I often think of my friends on AKL thread , but do not feel like writing : I have so little time and so much going on ...

But , if you wish , feel free to ask for positive thoughts and prayers for us on the thread : I'd really appreciate."

Hi ya'all. We have CL booked over at the Wilderness Lodge, as AKL CL was not available for our dates. Am I reading the first page correctly when I see that all CL rooms at the AKL are deluxe... as in extra square footage?

I may just keep calling to see if AKL becomes available.

No problem that you didn't read through to find your answer. I'm not sure your answer is even in here anywhere!!

For space and functionality, Kidani would be the better choice. Jambo's big advantage is that the 3 restaurants (1 of which is the quick service) are there. Kidani has one TS restaurant, Sanaa. You can also get a light meal at the pool, but no counter service otherwise. I feel the pool at Kidani is a bit more kid-friendly; although both pools are awesome!

The "Value" villas are only at Jambo. I have never stayed in a 2-bedroom Value, but I have been in a Value studio and a Value 1-bedroom. They are smaller (including less storage space) than the other villas at Jambo, which is why they are "Value" and less points. They are fewer in number, so can be hard to get.

I'm sure the 2-bedroom Value would be acceptable to both families. However, for a "WOW" it's hard to beat a 2-bedroom at Kidani!! Even the 1-bedroom there has 2 FULL bathrooms!!

The Jambo villas were retro-fitted from the existing hotel rooms. Kidani was built specifically to be a DVC.

Space vs Location. Now having said that, you'll be in Disney World -- what could be better?!!!!

I just tweeked our AKL res, orig. was going to spend all 12 nights pool room, now changed and booked last 6 nights AKL CL

So excited. Can you tell me about AKL CL? It's my understanding unlike BC & other CLs, AKL doesn't have a desig. AKL CL room floor? I would be on 4th floor? 5 & 6 are DVC?

I'm a tad confused. Depending on what site you read- CL rooms are regular rooms on 4th floor, then some say CL are deluxe rooms on 5th Floor, and DVC is 6th? Along with Lounge.

I know it will be a little different. Last Aug we stayed CL at BC. Our first CL experience! I've heard so many great things about AKL CL.

How does it work, because we are first staying in a regular Pool View room for our first 6 days, then switching to CL. Do I go down to the lobby and find someone who will take me to CL for check in our moving day?

Congratulations on your tweeking! You're going to love it there's actually a CL checkin area downstairs also, so you don't have to bother with finding somebody to take you upstairs, they can take care of everything. They should email you soon asking if you need any help with reservations and celebrations, and you can ask them directly what you should do.

So excited! Just wanted to share....
We arrive this Saturday - it has been a looooongg year and we were struggling to make it all happen. The kiddos know we are going to Disney but have no idea we are staying at AKL! We were scheduled to stay at a Mod - but thanks to some MAJOR Pixie Dust we were able to secretly upgrade back to AKL. We are going to be mean, evil parents for a few moments when we arrive - Tell them we know they have always wanted to stay at AKL so we thought we would go there for dinner and check out the gift shop on our arrival night.... - then when we are in the lobby and see their sad little faces..we are going to surprise them with the fact that they will be staying there for 9 days. .

Great. I want to book the Sunrise Safari! Sadly it means I have to cancel my Sci Fi lunch, and looked at switching Sci Fi to a different day, and no avail. It's pretty popular.
This time I got smart, and booked lunch ADRs! Last CL stay at BC, I could never enjoy the appies cause we had dinner ADRs. So now, no dinner adrs! If we're hungry after appies, we can agument with CS.
