FYI....

Because of expected high occupancy, you cannot pool hop during the following dates this year:

February 19 to 25
March 31 to April 14
May 26 to 28
June 29 to July 7
August 31 to September 3
November 19 to 25
December 16 to Jan 5 of 2013
Disney has the option to add more blackout dates, if they choose, should the resorts fill to capacity.

i have stayed CL 3 times and have NEVER had ZD in the lounge while I was there....

We are staying at AKL CL for the first time July 2013 and for me this isn't a big deal as the Zebra domes, sadly, aren't vegetarian. My sister and the rest of my family will however be sad if the aren't offered at least one of the 13 nights we will be there.

I don't think they refresh the desserts as much as the other food, so when they're gone they're gone.

Pool hopping is not allowed if you are not a DVC member, but between Kidani and Jambo house it is on a capacity ruling and serves both DVC and NON DVC members.

You will be considered DVC... I have rented my points out a bunch and have never had a problem..

I am looking for specific info on AKL guests using the pool at Kidani. I had posted previously that my friend was denied access to the Kidani pool. They were guests at AKL. Thanks again for your effort in trying to clear up this question.

Its a great one... They're sister resorts but technically Kidani is all DVC, right? It would make sense if you could only pool hop to Kidani if you were DVC but since they call out AKL as not letting DVC pool hop... *head explodes* Its too easy to make either side of the argument!

the capacity rule applies no matter how you paid for the room, so they were denied, sounds like it was due to capacity.

Iam new to DIS and to this thread. We will be doing our first AKL trip July 1-14, 2013. We will be staying CL and are so excited!!! I made it through page 50 and will go back to finish up my reading in this thread but wanted to post a quick hello so I could join in the fun

You mean Vegan right? I've seen the recipe and I believe that there are milk and eggs in there, but I doubt that they use chicken, beef or pork products...that would be weird.

Celidh, I might be confused (still recovering from a LONG work week!), but weren't you planning to rent points? Your dates fall into "Choice Season" for DVC. 12 points for a Standard View Studio; 16 points for a Savannah View Studio.

My information came directly from the WDW site.

Yes, i am hoping to get points but was checking out the difference in what the price would be between points and paying regular rate. Also, if I don't manage to get points, I will be booking the room anyway hopefully. I'm waiting to hear back from someone I PMd about renting points. I want the Savannah view.

It's actually October 6th I'm looking for. I'm sure I'm missing something. I am using the WDW site. There is a specific listing for Columbus day weekend for the deluxe resorts but not for the villas. I have looked under all categories for the dates for that weekend and didn't see them. A PP sent me a link to find them somewhere else but you'd think that Disney should have it on their own site. Maybe the cold I have been suffering miserably with is getting the better of me.

That is truly bizarre. I just did a book a room search and standard view is coming up $410, Savannah View $495, 1 bedroom value $515, 1 BR standard view $580, and 1 BR Savannah view $665. Of course you still have to add tax to those figures. Hope this helps.

When I search the DVC site, there are no Studio rooms available for the 6th. There is on the 5th and the 7th but not on the 6th. at either Kidani or Jambo House.

5th and 6th, at Kidani for a 1 bedroom, is available. 56 points.
