How long does it take to get from AK to Kidani Village? I wasn't sure how to find out the answer, so I'm hoping the folks here wouldn't mind me asking.

Thank you!

What is your mode of transportation?

You can not walk, but are you driving or taking the Disney Buses?

Animal Kingdom Lodge is divided into two main areas: Jambo House, which is the main guest resort area, and Kidani Village, the Disney Vacation Club villas. To get back and forth between the two, you can either make the 5-10 minute walk or use the Disney bus system. From Jambo House, the Downtown Disney bus will stop at Kidani Village first and from Kidani Village, any of the theme park buses will stop at Jambo House first.

for the DVC-ers among us here, can you tell me what to expect if we go to a presentation while we are there? We are really interested, but I just don't know if I want to sit for a super long presentation with strong-arm sales tactics during my vacation, KWIM? can i schedule it for the day before we check in? what do i do with my kids during the presentation? if anyone wants to offer me some insight, i would greatly appreciate it.

I'd like more information on this topic also! I have an additional question to add to your list: my DH won't be going this trip -- actually, he usually doesn't go. Can I still attend a presentation? Or would both of us need to be present? TIA :goodvibes

I felt this same way. Didn't want to waste any vacation time. I am so glad I went, it is amazing. I didn't feel pressured at all, they go over the plan and tell you how it works. You're looking at a minimum investment of about $20,000 with 10% down payment. Depending in your credit Disney can/will finance it for you at 5 or 10 years. You can go any time of the year to any of the DVC resorts, the amount of points depends on the time of year and accommodations you want. And of course you can attend without your spouse and talk everything over with them later. They will not pressure you for a decision. And a CM will look after your kids. I think it was about an hour maybe less, and after they will take you anywhere on property you want. I'm sure you can arrange an appointment the day before vacation, I would go to their website to find phone numbers or email them.

Congrats on your first stay you will love it!

You mean Vegan right? :confused3 I've seen the recipe and I believe that there are milk and eggs in there, but I doubt that they use chicken, beef or pork products...that would be weird.

The recipe I saw had gelatin in the ingredients, which is a derivative of beef(I won't go into what parts as you would never eat jello again). I would love that to be wrong as I had them on one of our trips and they are delightful!

There is definitely gelatin in the recipe I saw as well, and gelatin is definitely NOT vegetarian. :scared1:

Just back from a nice relaxing Mini-vacation at AKL Jambo House. Had some ups & some downs, but overall was just what we needed. Going to write email to Disney complimenting Edoardo (sp?) who managed to turn an unpleasant experience at check in to a great one. Beautiful time at Epcot for the Flower & Garden Festival. Now trying to figure out way to buy Florida AP's in 2013 so we can continuously go back to our happy place. Thanks again for all the help & info for our stay. Elynn:goodvibes:lovestruc

OK you got me! I know what gelatin is made of. I'm planning on doing the Culinary tour of Boma and Jiko in less than 10 days. I will definitely ask that question! I thought that there were gelatins derived from vegetables, but I never claimed to know everything.

I don't know everything either (shhh...don't tell my kids, lol). I *think* there are vegetable based alternatives to gelatin, but all gelatin is animal-based. I am not positive about that. When you find out for sure, let the rest of us know please! :goodvibes

There are alternatives but they don't work nearly as well so I am assuming the regular gelatin is what is used. I was bummed when I found out as I really loved them and never thought about gelatin being in something of that nature...I suppose you could have called me blissfuly ignorant :upsidedow

....the person you might wanna ask is DizDaD7 - he's a recent DVC owner (as of last fall) and he may be able to shed some light on it....that is, if he ever gets his booty back here again.... :rolleyes1 popcorn::

Visited Animal Kingdom yesterday. This is the only info I was given about the Tree of Life and ITTBAB.

Checked with the CMs outside of It's Tough To Be a Bug. They said: "We hope that the attraction will be open within a week. If you want more information, go to Guest Relations."

Good Morning J's & K's

Looks like I will be making an unscheduled trip out of town in the next day or so. We have very dear friends who are in a medical crisis so I am going to help out. Please keep Brown family in your thoughts and prayers. He is fighting cancer and he and his wife are having a difficult time.

Hope you all have a good day. :flower3:

I am officially on vacation. We are checked in at one of the airport hotels and I am just chilling out in the club lounge. I have tried to check in online, but whereas it would let me check in for Graham, it tells me that my passport has expired. Well, it is valid until July 2014. We will just check in at the airport tomorrow.
