We are driving to WDW for the first time later this month. We have always used WDW transportation, but will have a car to use this time to go from park to park, etc. I have looked at maps but I guess until I get there its all greek to me as to how to get from point A to B - I have printed directions from AKL to AK, MK, DHS and Epcot and those seem pretty straightforward. What I cant figure out if off site places to eat and how to get to those places (addresses, etc). We are tired of park food and would like just some fast food out or maybe a couple of kid friendly sit down restaurants. Can anyone provide any direction....please?

Can anyone help me???Pretty Please :)

Pinkocto, ill be at AKV from the 18th-23rd.Do u want to meet its me, my DM,
DD(7),DS(14),2 friends of DS(13).:woohoo:

So excited I'm having a hard time breathing--decided to try David's rentals for our trip in October and they came through so we have a Savannah View Studio for Oct 13-20 (please add us to the list--thanks!)

Thank you all so much for the tons of info that you post here--love the pics too :)

I am wondering if I could get more info about the DVC Studio units--what is included in them--especially in terms of food prep stuff?

There's just the 2 of us--do they have king size beds for DVC studio units? If so--how do I go about requesting that? (or is that already decided by the owner--still unsure of when all that stuff takes place)...

Thanks again for all your info and excitement--looking forward to spending some time with you all to help bide the time until we get to go.

Have a magical day!!

Agh--looks like my counter thing part of my siggie didn't work... it is from the disticker--any help with that too would be great--thanks!!

Sorry, I can't help. I love eating at WDW - both quick service and table service. Going to DTD is the closest I get to actually eating off site!! ;)

I can't help either... We eat all around WDW.

SAme for me too. The closest I get to non WDW food is cooking in my villa. You might check the budget board or families section.

As far as appliances, there is a coffee maker, toaster, microwave and a dorm style refrigerator. You will also have some paper plates, cups and plastic utensils.

All the studios have queen beds. I have not stayed I a studio except at the VGC, but one side of the bed seems rather close to the wall for non-able bodied persons. For a King bed you must stay in the master of a 1, 2, or 3 bedroom unit.

Studios are generally fine for healthy individuals who spend a lot of time in the parks and running around. The balcony will give you a nice place to relax when in the room.

I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time!

Hi, I have a question. :)

I noticed in the first post that AKL does not allow balloons in guests rooms. So does this mean I wont be able to ask the resort to put balloons in the room for my brothers birthday? :sad1:

Probably not. I know when the resort first opened they didn't allow lids and straws on drinks because they were afraid they would get into the animal habitat. That may have changed in so many years.

Will anyone help me, please? I'm currently booked at the Gf, but after looking at AKL I couldn't find pictures or floor plans of the suites. I went to the info on this site, but the pictures there don't show the suite pictures or floor plans. I'm thinking of possibly doing a transfer to AKL after our time at the GF ends, but we're interested in having a king bed in one room and two double beds in another room. Does that even exist? I even looked on allears. Help!

A gps would be helpful or a smartphone. As long as you can find I-4 you should be able to find an exit with an number of restraunts. I can't tell you what is there. There are a ton around.

Have fun.

Your best bet would be a 2 be villa on rented points. There would be two queens in the 2nd bedroom. Once we had a suite at jambo but it had a double and bunk beds.

Hmmm I never rented points before. I'm thinking it's DVC??

So the regular AKL, (not DVC) doesn't have suites like the Grand Floridian? I'm looking for a king bed and two double beds in two separate bedrooms, with a living room area. I see I have to do a lot more reading about this. Thank you for the information.

Before we had DVC we paid for a one bedroom suite. Back then it was something ridiculous like $750 per night. Turns out the suite had a second bedroom attached to the suite (the maids actually clued us in on it). That second bedroom had a double bed and a bunk bed. There may be others that have two double beds. I imagine if we had actually paid for that room it would have been well over $1,000 per night and that was over five years ago.

The room didn't even have a kitchen! Renting DVC point you could easily pay one half to two thirds of the cost of a hotel suite and you have far superior accommodations. Just because your room has a kitchen it doesn't mean you have to use it. You'd be surprised how it comes in handy.

Kilimanjaro Club Level with Concierge Service - 2 Bedroom Suite king bed with two double beds or one double bed and one bunk bed

I found what I was looking for, but I have to request the two doubles instead of the bunk bed. I read that I have a good chance of getting what I want because apparently most people request the bunk bed. I'll give a call tomorrow.:goodvibes

Thanks again!

We don't drive so I can't help you with directions as we are always using public transport when in Orlando. At the Crossroads Plaza near Downtown Disney is a Sweet Tomatoes that we love. At the top of International Drive, opposite Festival Bay, we love Texas de Brazil. Unfortunately a lot of our favourite restaurants have closed down.

Not sure if you bave AAA or not but, I believe if you go to your local branch or call you can boost to platinum plan which i believe will give you the ability to park for free. At the parks. Does anyone have any info on this or can they confirm this.
