Seven Dwarves So Close...

I think it looks pretty good. The views of MK at night are breathtaking! I have braced myself for the onslaught of complaints because it seems like some only want a high-powered coaster. A ride like that wouldn't even be appropriate for Fantasyland. I hope the dark ride portions are very cool, but we'll just have to see. It should be open for my May trip so here's hoping I get to ride!

I have no interest in a high-powered coaster. I can ride those at Universal and other parks, and my kids, including the preteen, much prefer low intensity rides. However, I'm hoping for a good dark ride experience with some unique Snow White theming, rather than just another mild coaster.

If theoretically Disney built a 11 minute long roll coaster, that would be a very very long track. So it could incorporate many many more ride vehicles than your average coaster. Which would increase rider/per hour capacity. So the wait time would not be any longer than a 1 minute coaster. All things equal (one coaster not being more popular than the other) in theory. I wish an 11 minute roller coaster existed.... :(

But if they built 11 one minute coasters, they'd all have shorter lines.

I agree. It looks very nice and is completely appropriate for Fantasyland.

For everyone complaining... is the coaster better than Pooh's Playful Spot which it replaced?

Will it be better themed with more impressive special effects than the ride which was in that spot prior to the Pooh playground: 3 1/2 Feet Under the Sea (err... 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea) with its plastic kelp forests and generous use of dive bubbles?

I'm curious about your reasoning for this? I agree that something like RnR wouldn't be a great fit, but why not something at the level of the Matterhorn in Anaheim?

It will have similar AAs as the current Pooh ride with limited motion...we aren't talking Ursula here. The plans for them have already been leaked online. You can even see their limited animation displayed in the side by side video that bwang123 posted.

Give me dive bubbles any day. And they took 3 1/2 feet under the sea a lot further at DL when they rethemed it to Finding Nemo. It's waaaaay better than the Epcot version.

I do look forward to riding it at night during Wishes like I used to do on Dumbo. It will be nice to have that view back (or close to it).

I do admit that the Castle did look cool all lit up in the video.

Last night one big section of the construction wall was gone and I see problems in the future because of stupid people. The wall is short enough that you can look over and see the track and people were already putting their kids up on the wall. I can see some idiot having their kid on the wall and falling in. It doesn't look like they are going to put any other kind of barrier to prevent this from happening.

Or dropping/throwing things at riders. A punk is a punk is a punk. That is the reason that the Dragons don't "duel" anymore on Dragon Challenge/Dueling Dragons anymore. I assume they will have to adjust that very quickly.

Well, in my estimation the Matterhorn is pretty slow and easy going. I've only ridden it a couple of times, but I don't consider it a high-powered coaster. Someone earlier was comparing it to the Mummy at Uni...that is the kind of thing I would consider inappropriate for FL.

The Matterhorn and Mummy in the same sentence? :lmao:

What makes you think this won't be Matterhorn level when it comes to thrills? Matterhorn has a top speed around 25 mph and the biggest drop is what, 10 feet? The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train certainly looks comparable to that.

BTW....what a pleasant post for your 25,000th. Congrats, mom.:tinker:
