Seven Dwarves Mine train - is it really really worth it?

It is SO SO SO cute! I think it's worth it but I wouldn't wait an hour for it. It's surprisingly short. That's my only complaint. It's very well done and it's just too short.
I think it has one of the best walk-through lines on property. I don't think I'd pay for it. If the wait is 30 mins, for sure do it. I'm also someone who won't wait an hour for anything, so there's that perspective.

It is one of my ten-year-olds must-dos.

That said, we try to hit it RIGHT after the fireworks. The line is generally shorter. Try to be on the Tomorrowland side of the castle if you are watching fireworks so you can quickly exit. Or, skip the fireworks all together.

Apologies if this is a stale topic - I have searched but haven't found the exact thread.

Seems that the Seven Dwarves Mine Train is one of the hardest to get on in the Magic Kingdom. Haven't been for 20 years. Going with my family (mid August - 4 of us) and probably not back for a long while (we are from the UK). Looks a wonderful ride. However, every permutation of every touring plan (from the unofficial guide) suggests it will wreck all my plans to see loads. I am also told it is very very hard to even get a Lightning Lane reservation.

So, as disappointing as it may be, it seems for the greater good, I should skip it? Am I wrong? Is it unmissable?

I think it is great fun High Ho!!!!! It is worth employing some startegy to ride. No ride is worth paying extra for or long lines. Planning on Be Our Guest visit? When breakfast is operating get first avail res. eat quickly and you are right next to Mine Train ! We did Mine Train and Peter Pan and just made it.to Pooh before it got crazy!

If you've never been on it, yes, it's worth it. True, it's not much of a thrill ride and it's short but very well done. I enjoy the music and theming and also there's a couple of spots with a good view of the park which I think is pretty cool. This type of ride is what Magic Kingdom is all about for me - it's not something you're going to get at any other amusement/theme park. Yes, wait times can be long and i've passed on it at times, but I would tell anyone to make time and do it once!

Overrate. And as a size 16 pant female.. the ride literally hurt my legs. Only ride on property I would say is not very thick thigh friendly. The bucket sways alittle but such a short ride def not worth the wait times.

I didn’t read every response, but finally someone mentioned this. So uncomfortable! It hurts my butt!

With little kids it is worth it. I'm not sure if a poll has ever been taken, but over the years since it's opening it has consistently been mentioned as one of the top attractions for the pre-school crowd. My nephew adored it when he was younger, and my 3 year old wants to ride it over and over again now.

For adults and older kids, it's a cute, easy and very smooth coaster with a bit of animatronics tossed in. Worth it if the line isn't too long (which is subjective).

I enjoy it - and my kid really wanted to do it as it had a special place in their memory. That said, when we were faced with "which ride to we repeat", both kids (the one with a previous memory of it and one who had never done a roller coaster before this trip) really wanted to do Space Mountain again. We ended up doing Space Mountain 8 times to 2 rides on 7DMT (partially due to lower wait times but also heavily influenced by preference). I didn't frame it this way or even ask them to rank roller coasters, but both kids have named Space Mountain as their preferred MK roller coaster (one preferred SDD to Space overall whereas the older one preferred Space).

I should've named - BOTH kids were screaming "Heigh-ho" for the rest of the nights when they rode it (and I think we realized neither had seen the movie itself, lol)

Sometimes your mine train will stop right in front of the cottage. Be sure to look inside -- and at the front door.

For me wating an hour for this is pushing it. I like it. It is very cute. I like the Mickey and Minnie ride in Hollywood Studios better.

Yeah, but who knows when that's coming back (if ever). Right now your best bet is to be at the park well before park open, hopefully staying onsite or it won't work, be ready to book it to the ride as soon as they start letting people back, and hope for the best. Generally it moves pretty quickly for the first 15 or so minutes, then too many people get in line than it can keep up with.

As others have said, if you've never ridden, it's worth it. If the line isn't long, it's really worth it. But I can't commit to saying it's really, really worth it. :jester:

For us anyway, I wouldn't pay for ILL$ or wait more than 45 minutes (we have skipped it on several occasions because the wait tends to be 60+ minutes).

I had an odd realization with the dwarfs last week. Prior to this trip we always FP+ 7DMT because we "had to" and had to plan 60 days before. On this trip we did 7DMT standby at the end of the night. I don't know why, but for some reason I enjoyed the dwarfs more after waiting standby. We found the same to be true with Flight of Passage. I think, maybe for me, the rush rush rush of FP (now LL) left me a bit off. The time in standby built anticipation and had me 'ready' to really enjoy it.
I wouldn't wait an hour for it, but waiting for a ride might have some benefit. We waited 25 minutes at park close, which I thought was reasonable, and we very much enjoyed closing our day on 7DMT.

It's just meh. It's a kids' coaster. Too mild and over really fast. Spend the time going on Space Mt and Big Thunder.
