Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

was wondering about this as well, my DS 3 wants to ride and is just now reaching the height requirement but he has really never ridden anything like it.

You can do rider swap on it you just see a CM before going into the FP line (make sure you have the child that can't ride bc they need to see him/her) and they give you a pass. Whoever rides first goes on the ride through the FP line if you have a FP and when they are done riding the next rider goes through the FP lane using the Rider Swap Pass so technically the second person riding would not need a FP.

Thanks .. I had never done rider swap (when we went there last year we just went on rides with the little one). Not as efficient as I thought. I was expecting to be able to wait in the line with everyone and have the child/non-riding parent step aside and wait for me to return to swap (like I've saw at the Harry Potter ride at Universal Studios).

You miss the fun of taking your child through the line and seeing the sights (and seeing the actual ride) and having to rewait in line (even Fast Pass) .. is still a little wasted time. (I understand the logistics though as there may not be room for people to wait at the ride loading spot, just disappointed.). Definitely cuts down on abuse I would think.

But, technically only need one Fast Pass for that ride then? That could give extend our Fast Passes uses then. That's a great perk and makes up for having to wait in the line twice.

I will say this- it is a much diff. experience with two adults in a car versus an adult and child. My 3 and 5 (at the time) year olds loved it and we found it enjoyable- to us it felt like a longer barnstormer at the time.

DH and I went down this weekend and got to ride it together and boy were we rocking! If you make a note to lean together on turns or even just in the mine where they are singing you can really get the thing going!! We went on it at 1 am with a bunch of teenagers and the whole train was going- very diff. experience and fun!

Also from my understanding (we have actually never had to use rider swap...my husband is not a big roller coaster fan, he will go on some roller coasters if I can't go (I have vertigo issues) but for the most part the roller coasters at Disney are ok for me to go on) Anyways you can use that rider swap whenever you want...it doesn't expire for like a week or something. So if you don't want to waste time at the same ride for a while you can always go back and use the rider swap then.
