I agree that rope drop on an EMH morning is the way to go.

We are also waiting for FP+ to open for anytime between 4/26 - 5/3.

I was there opening day for Radiator Springs Racers at DCA, and they had fastpass ready to go on the first day. I suspect they will for sure have it on the official opening day for 7DMT as well.

Also, if you can get a fastpass even 5 mintues after open, I'd go for it. New rides have a tendency to break down... a lot! I went opening weekend, was always there for rope drop and still had 40 to an hour minute waits. And by mid afternoon standy-by would be 4 or 5 hour plus while the ride had been down for 2 hours or more. It's going to be crazy for the first month I'm sure, probably more as Magic Kingdom draws far more people than DCA does.

We're there the last week in April...fingers crossed for it being up and running. I will head there at rope drop if no FP -- We just want to ride it!

I just noticed that SDMT is now listed on the wait times page of the mobile app. There are obviously no wait times posted yet but a small change.

I read on another post that someone was just there and they announced that it would open May 28th. I dont know if it true or not just read it on another thread. I was hoping it would open before that because that is the day we planned to go to MK and if it is opening that day it may cause larger crowds

I was just in at my travel agent today, he said that 7DMT is now set to open May 20. I really hope this is not true...but I just wanted to pass it along

That would be a solid piece of information. Remember that the New Fantasyland did not officially open until December but there were multiple media events, soft openings and AP previews prior to that. In fact, my darkest Disney memory was from October 2012, when we ran right past Fantasyland while in MK and I found out later at the hotel I missed the very first preview of the new Fantasyland, ever. I was pretty pissed when I read that in bed that night! Pretty sure that FP+ reservations won't be available until the official opening, but let's keep hoping!
