Setting eyelets: What do you use?

Thanks pattyT! I forgot that you posted about a different one on the first page. I was reading your last response as being about the one ilovedale3 mentioned.

I have to admit that I only half looked at those because the site wasn't very forthcoming with info. The reviews you posted were much more helpful!

I have a hole punch which you can change the hole size with 3 different adjustments. For setting I use my friends setter sometimes or just gently hammer the back shut, it works just fine if you don't bang it too hard.

I have the Silent Setter and it works VERY well and is very quiet... I heard that the clickit still makes noise, but the Silent Setter doesn't make noise and only requires a little exertion (stand up and press down on the tabletop).

I have the clickit and LOVE it. I did my Christmas cards with it and had no problems at all. I was setting MM eyelets, 2 on each card and did about 70 cards. It does still make noise, but not as much as the hammer & setter. I am interested in the silent setter though now that I have read about it. And the price is pretty good too. I am a product of "Never enough toys"! LOL!

Has your Michael's cut way back on the eyelets, brads & snaps they sell? I almost couldn't find them! They'd not only moved them, they cut down from 1/3 - 1/2 the aisle to a section that was maybe 18" wide! Of course I'd just come from ACMoore where I bought myself the MM toolkit. I was hoping to get a few to practice on. They had nothing but the round ones.

I just hate ordering stuff on-line. I'd rather go & see the stuff & be able to buy a couple at a time, instead of ordering a bunch to make it "worthwhile" once you pay the shipping. Yeah - I'm cheap. What can I say?

Piratesmate, I too usually like to see things before I but them and I hate to pay shipping on only a few items. Have you looked at rockymountainhobbies.com? They have a large selection of eyelets and brads and have free shipping if you order is $25 or more.
