Betty, I am doing pretty good actually :) Thanks so much for asking!

I have to admit I was so happy when I came in that I was not replying to everything. I find this so amusing, Beth already probably knows more about Ohio now than I do and I've lived here all my life  I think for me personally, I wouldn't want to be included in figuring out of where we all stay for the meet. I just can guarantee much of anything since I am afraid of what will be going on with strikes for union where I work. I will make it for a day or two if I can and I will worry about lodging at the last minute I think. Beth, a lot of the cabins I think you listed are in the Hocking Hills... I love that area!!!!!

Hi Deb!!! Hi there Nutsy!!!

Beth, I didn't watch most of the 1st half of the game. I did want to watch for some plays that I hear were interesting (for many reasons) and I wanted to see some of the immediate after game stuff that I missed before. So I watched maybe the last quarter and then the double overtime. Otherwise I had no interest in watching a game that I already knew what happened with either... just some neat plays I wanted to catch.

Beccy, are we partying or what?!?!?

Elaine, dear, my question was not meant to scoff at you. I just re-read it and it didn't sound right. I am actually asking what you are watching--is it the plays? The ham shanks and tight.....um.....pants, that's it! I have just never been into sports and am curious as to what other people see in it.
Oh I knew you weren't being mean or anything... I totally understood where you were coming from. And no it wasn't the tight pants at all... some of those guys really don't look good in tight pants!!!!!!

Of course we need to throw the biggest party ever. We have a lot to celbrate. Next weekend, a summer Ya-Ya meet and lets not forget because LIFE is GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

HEAR-HEAR!!! Beth raises her glass..... Life IS good!!! And life with the Ya Yas makes it all the better!!!

Yes, Elaine, a lot of what I found IS in the Hocking Hills area. Every Labor Day weekend from about '72 to '77, we used to camp at the state park down by Athens. I loved going to Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave and this little diner down the road from the campground where they always had homemade soups and pies. The pies were to die for!!!! But I always knew we were getting close from the smell........that moist-woodsy-decaying leaves smell that I didn't know I was allergic to at the time! LOL!!!! Now I know why I always came home sick, too!!!

I am back.

I just spent a 3 day trip with my SILs and nieces at Hocking Hills. It was beautiful. We did some hiking and horseback riding. There is a lodge there that has a pool. Just some meaningless information that I wanted to add.

The beef stew turned out pretty good. I tried a new recipe that used beer as a base with brown gravy packet and dry onion soup mix.

You are so right Beccy... there is so much to celebrate right now! The meets in the works and just having such dear friends here... all worth celebrating!

Beth, we used to go camping all the time down in the Hocking Hills in school. It was so much fun there. You are right though, allergies can run high but hopefully the Claritin stuff I take (actually I found it much cheaper... off brand) hopefully would help. Old Man's Cave is so neat and I think I only went to Ash Cave once, but the whole area is so nice. Only an hour or so from my house too :)

Not to change the subject totally (well, actually, that is exactly what I am doing, but...) We are inside 2 weeks to Disney, and DS is complaining big time about his ear. Jodie and Bonnie know his bad ear history. This kid is 5 and has probably had 15 ear infections. Last winter it just never went away, he was on low dose antibiotics from November til March.

So, I just dosed him up with some Advil, and will be calling the ped tomorrow at 7:30 to get an appointment. Fortunately DH does not work on Monday's so he will take him, but ACK ACK ACK, I really do not want his first flight to be one where he has an ear infection.

Think some good vibes for me and Ian, please and thank you

I hope you can get rid of the ear infection. Hopefully the right meds will take care of it for him.

so where in Ohio is Hocking Hills located?

Oh, poor Ian.....prayers and a huge dose of PD for the little guy!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

BTW, those new Ear Planes they have on the market now really DO work. DH & I tried them on our flights in Dec. and they made a HUGE difference at take off and landing when the air pressure is changing so much. They come in child size, too, which might help Ian if his ear is still giving him problems when flight time comes.

Deb I hope he gets better.

Hocking Hills is near Athens, Ohio. Center of the state.

Got to run and get Allison.

Bye!!

PD and good thought for your DS Debster!

Carol......DISNEY STORE success!! :teeth:

Beth...I am SO jealous. You get to meet Carol!!
When she was planning a possible March trip.......I was going to meet her there for a couple of days....but now :( who knows when.

Beccy....XL shirt for me (unless it's Disney, then L...gotta love their sizing).

We went to the mall to get Carol her goodie and looked at charms...just a little ;)
Then when we were going into the theater, DH says "You should have picked one. I would have bought it for you".....!!! Why didn't he say that then!!

I want to go to the meet so much!!

Ladies, do you realize we're on page 135??!!!! We had better send some of the cabin boys on ahead to make sure the dock on our little island is in good repair for when we make landfall tomorrow!!!

Then when we were going into the theater, DH says "You should have picked one. I would have bought it for you".....!!! Why didn't he say that then!!
:teeth: Tom does that to me ALL the time!! :)

Okay guys... I've found a couple of recent pics of this disgusting mess of hair. I need help! Tell me what to do with this mess!!!

Hey look! Who are those two beautiful ladies I'm standing with!?! ;)

<img src=http://worldzone.net/family/kama89//img_0100.jpg width=500>
This one is actually one of Elaine's pics but she said I could borrow it. ;)

Here's another one...this one was taken in Sept. at DL and shows what a mess my hair really is. :( I need it shortened and layered or lifted... or something! ACK!

c_mdtdre.jpg

Help me YaYas....you're my only hope!

Nancy does your DH need to be cheetoed?

Kim you look like Sela Ward! Outside of cutting of a inch or two I wouldn't do a thing. Of course my hair is in need of a cut so you might not want to listen to me.

Yep, Hocking Hills is kind of close to Athens... it's about 1/2 way between Columbus and Athens so a bit south of center and a little to the East. It's a very easy drive from Columbus though (if that helps at all).

Debbie, I will keep little Ian in my prayers. I have fairly regular ear pain from time to time and honestly a hot washcloth really helps ease the pain for me as well. I hope he is feeling better soon!

Page 135... I wonder when we will close this one up??

Kim, nice pic ;) Actually I was so terribly tired that day, I am surprised I wasn't falling over. Well the next day was worse I think... I was running on about 3 hours of sleep that day  I already told you Kim, but I do think you ought to straighten the hair, get long layers cut starting from just longer than chin length to just past your shoulders. Nice angling in the front would look great on you I think. It would fit you and be happy & bouncy... don't forget the highlights too ;)

OK--first off the grass is always greener. Kim, I have pin straight, stick straight, will not bend, curl or wave hair. I can wear it 2 ways. Jaw length bob, all one length. Or cut short short up over my ears, longish on top, layered, but straight. I love your hair. I would love to have longish wavy hair. But, since I know you are hating it now, how much curlier does it get if you cut it short. How about shoulder length, with some angle around your face?

Crazyboutdisney--I am an EARPLANES convert. Had never flown without pain until I tried them. Now, I get off the plane, take them out, and voila! I can hear, there is no pain, and it is wonderful. I already have them for DH and I and they are in my backpack that is my carryon.

Hey Ya Yas!!! Sounds like everybody had good days!!! Beccy...I LOVE the way you think!!!! There is ALWAYS something in life to celebrate!!!!!!

Awww Deb....poor Ian. Let's see...2 weeks till you leave (you lucky dog you :) )....if the antibiotics start tomorrow....hmmm...know what I would do? I would get an extra prescription from your doc to take with you just in case that ear should start hurting while you are in The World! Then your bases will be covered. I almost always take an antibiotic with me for each kid when we go away...this time I didn't...and I needed it! What a mess! The ear planes absolutely DO work like a charm! The last time we flew David was just getting over an ear infection. I popped them in his ears just before take off and again just before landing and he had not evn a twinge of pain. I use em too!!! Many pharmacists don't know there is a kid's size though...don't let em talk you into an adult size!! And tomorrow when you are there getting an antibiotic anyway ya better check to see if they have em. Last time I got them they needed to be ordered. If you cna't find them, pm me your address...do I already have it? I'll check. But I have 2 sets...unused ;) ...that I would be happy to mail to you! Just say the word! Give Ian a hug from me!

I am LOVING this State Park meet talk!!! Now about the date...why don't we change it to the 25th-28th of July to make sure the date doesn't conflict with Bonnie or Jennifer? From what I have written down, so far this weekend is good with everybody....what do ya'll think?? The sooner we nail down these details the sooner we can make reservations. If we do go with a park, those cabins/lodges are fillin up already from my experience with scouts anyway

Heh heh...Deb guess ya didn't need the hard sell on the earplanes huh?:p

Kim...I really am with everybody else here...I love your hair. But I know you want a change. Shoot I would just go for shorter...you have the kind of hair that looks good no matter what you do. Why don't you schedule an appointment with your stylist just to talk? They have great ideas! GREAT pics by the way!!

Jodie, nope, no hard sell here. I tried them on a business trip where I was travelling with my director, her boss (a VP) and his boss (a senior VP). I figured tears and deafness would not go over well with this group. LOL

I was planning on hitting Walmart tomorrow to pick up all our toiletries for the trip, if I cannot find the kids sized Earplanes, I will absolutely be PM-ing you.

Either weekend is fine with me Jodie! Put me down for a yes.
