I called MS today and booked our VWL stay after our DCL cruise. So it's 4 nights on the Wonder and 3 nights at VWL, then home sweet home until 2004. It's so cool to be booked and start saving the plane ticket $$!

I know the feeling. I just booked our cruise today for our West. 7/5/03 and I tell you, I cannot wait (I just posted on cruise line thread). I also cannot wait til next week to book our 4 night stay at OKW after cruise. It will be our first time at OKW (we did the East. last year). I want to say you have no idea how excited I am, but everyone here knows the feeling. I do not want to call every day, so hopefully everything will be fine. I had to wait 25 minutes to speak to a CM.

I have been spending a lot of time on the boards and net today looking for exactly what you did today!!!! Can I ask if you used your points for the cruise and your VWL stay? I guess if I want to book at the 11 month window for VWL, I better get going! We've never done a cruise before and don't know what to even ask for! I'm nervous because I get very sea sick, but I think it would be nice to give it a try. Did you say you booked through MS? Thanks

Skorpie, I had some points saved up--we did a VWL addon last year and I had not used any of the VWL 2002 points, so it was more points than I normally have in a year.
We used our BWV points from 2003 AND 2004 plus 18 left from 2002--and used our 2002 and 2003 VWL points, plus 34 from 2004. Left enough to do a decent trade out in 2004 we hope, or 6 days at VWL.
I used points for all but one child on the cruise, and for VWL. If we had done the 3 day cruise we would have had more points--and I also had checked into getting 2 adjoining category 10 rooms on the Wonder for fewer points, but DH wanted a veranda really bad, and he was the one I had to convince.
I booked the cruise through MS last week and got the confirming papers today. So much to think about!

Hi! We are new BCVers but are falling in love with DCL, too!

Would someone share how I can determine # pts needed different catagories of cabins for Western at this time? I'd like to know what I'm talking about before calling MS. Is there a chart somewhere to check this out?

Check out the member site, under the Diney collection. There are point charts just like the resorts.

Check out the member site, but don't be afraid to ask CMs on the phone about points, cash--they are very helpful!
Mouseclick--DH was the one who needed convincing, and he really wanted the verandah, so there we are--so we had to do the small addon, ha ha!! Another one of the kids has to go to community college!
Cal. Dreaming, no Poly next year! We'll live, really, It was nice for our little Christmas trip, but when we sandwiched those two days between DVC resorts that little room really suffered by comparison. I will always love the atmosphere of the Poly, but except for the view it was not worth the $$$ this time. But if we ever pay cash again, sign me up--just get me a Garden view this time!

We are DCLing and DVCing next year too. This will be a our first cruise and we have young children. So, I thought to be able to do it all and maximize our points, I booked the 3 night cruise because it sails over the weekend (I think for the 4 of us, dh, dd (6) and ds (2) that our pt total was 242, then we are spending 5 nights in a std view studio at our home BWV for something crazy like 56 pts, because we are staying Sun - Thurs. This will definitely give us a taste of cruising and allowing us to enjoy BWV still. We are sailing 5/22 - 5/25 and then off to BWV until 5/30. We booked exactly 11 months out for both.
