Sesame Place Season Pass is it worth it?

I have 2 girls one will be 2 and the other almost 7. I was wondering if I should get the 2011 Sesame Place Season Pass? I see that you get the rest of this year free plus all of next year. My little one loves Sesame Street and we live about 40 minutes aways. Its really expensive to go just for the day with the price of tickets and parking. I was on the website and it doesn't have the season price pass (I guess because they aren't on sale til 7/30) I was wondering if anyone has done it and is it worth it? Also is it crowded on the weekends in the fall? I was thinking maybe doing the dry stuff and shows in the fall to really get our money's worth. Do the kids get tired of going since its not that big or do they still have fun?

We did the pass that includes Sesame/busch gardens/water country. This way we do Sesame (we are near Allentown) and go to Williamsburg for the summer. It has paid for itself many times over.

I think Sesame Place will break their premium pass into 3 payments.

I'm pretty sure it's one payment for the normal season passes. I haven't worked there in years....and we have had the Platinum passes for over 6 years now.

They will do 3 E-Z pay deductions on ANY pass, actually. I just paid ours off (2 regular, one Big Bird). Getting into the Platinum idea as we are a day's drive from W'burg. Good to know we could have them mailed to us, though we don't need to do that till the spring. :)

That's good to know..... like I said....I haven't bought any of the Sesame passes recently, so I wasn't sure about their payment plans. I just knew it wasn't a monthly deal like the Platinum ones.

We do Busch Gardens in Early June...and October. It's about a 5.5 hour drive....so we stay 2 nights.
Usually I find rooms for under $100 a night...including taxes and free breakfast for a family of 4 (we've stayed at Comfort Inn, Ramada, Country Inn, Howard Johnson, Crowne Plaza) :thumbsup2

I've even found rooms that cheap on Travelocity....for the same night (we don't always plan our weekend getaways)

Thanks everyone! I'm going to see how much they are going to be when they post on Friday and try to decide then! I'm actually thinking about maybe going to Virginia next year because that Busch Gardens would be a great deal, thanks again!

Just wondering we have a trip planned to go to Sesame in August and we are planning to go to Florida next year would it be a good idea for all of us to buy the premium passes meaning me, DH, and older DD now or wait is there a change in prices after this promotion is over :confused3 TIA

Does anybody know if you have to activate the SuperGrover pass in Sesame Place or can you use the Orlando Parks first?

Planning an Orlando trip and it'd be great if I could get this years and next years holiday from it!

Sesame Place was running a special on all of their passes if you bought them before 3/1 this year. I don't remember the costs of all of them, but the Platinum Passes (Super Grover) were $142. I bought them for each member of my family and I definitely think we've gotten our money's worth several times this summer!!!

First, I paid the extra $8 to have them send a paper copy to our home. This allowed us to go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for Spring Break in March this year. So yes, you can use them at any park as long as you get the paper copies and not the e-tickets.

We've been to Sesame Place 3 times so far, and since we all have the Super Grover passes, we have been able to do the meet and greets before the parade, which has been the highlight of the little guy's trip! We would go meet the characters before BOTH the 2pm and 7pm parades! Also with the Super Grover Passes you get special seating for shows, and ride again on certain rides- great perk when it's crowded. You do get 30% off of food and merchandise there so with the inflated prices it's like paying regular price after the discount. :)

All of that would have been enough to get our money's worth, but DH and DS took a 5 day trip to FL for DS's 11th birthday. They hit the 4 parks in Florida, and paid NOTHING for admission or preferred parking- they even brought our 2010 refillable cups from Busch Gardens Williamsburg! Refills are $1.00 but of course there's that 10% discount! Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld offer ride again privledges for Platinum Pass holders that Williamsburg does not.

Last weekend we hit Busch Gardens with some friends and were able to see Emily Osment FREE in concert!

Our passes expire 12/31/10. We won't be hitting FL again, but there are still Halloween activities ahead at both Sesame Place and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The passes DO NOT include the ChristmasTown at Busch Gardens in Nov/Dec, but you can get 50% off of a ticket.

I just want to point out to watch the expiration dates of the passes.

Not all of them work like WDW annual passes.

Some expire at the end of a season...some expire at the end of a certain period of time.

I am hoping Super Grover's go on sale again in Nov. I will be in FLA in late December this year 2010, and late Dec again in 2011. So, let me know if this is do-able for you Super Grover folks.

I want to buy the "2011 Grover" THIS Nov 2010 when it goes on sale (hoping it drops in price again this year), pay the $8 to have the paper copy sent to me so I don't have to have it activated at Sesame. Use in Dec 2010 at SeaWorld and Busch Tampa. Will use summer 2011 at Sesame, Busch VA. Then use again in Dec 2011 in FLA once again.

Is teh 30% off food at all parks, or just Sesame. Anyone have a list of what rides at each park have ride-again priv?

I think the Busch Gardens Platium seems to be a better deal. You still get all the parks and it's for two years. With the EZ pay, the $36 a month is great. We usually go to FL every year, and I plan to go to Aulani in 2012, and we a stop over in CA. We could use the tickets then too. With Busch Gardens only a few hours away and Sesame a hour away, I think I can make good on these tickets.

We have Season Passes to Sesame Place even though we live 2 hours away and it's still worth it for us. I bought the Super Grover pass for myself so we get free preferred parking which really saves a bundle. I couldn't believe how expensive the parking was when I went the first time!!! Also, you save 30% on food and all merchandise. The best part is, I reuse my popcorn bucket and plastic cups so you only pay the refill price which is MUCH cheaper than buying new every time. (Unlike Disney, this IS allowed at Sesame Place)

I think it would definitely be worth it for you, especially since you only live 40 minutes away.

Okay, this is kind of a random question, but do they still have the "big" blue bouncy/climby thing? LOL! I know not very descriptive, it was kind of like a pyramid but it had a flat top. You would climb up and jump down... I'm doubtful it's still there as it's been years, but I was just wondering!

When we went to WDW in the late 80's we took a month and drove up and down the east coast, and we stopped at Sesame Place. For some reason, that's the only part of the trip I remember (I was 4, cut me some slack ;))

I just remember that I could easily climb up this thing and my older brother was too scared.

Yes! They still have it. It's called Cookie Mountain and my DD LOVES it. It's our first stop on every single trip to Sesame Place. :-)

:worship:

THANK YOU!!

Makes senses, blue=Cookie Mountain like Cookie Monster!

Glad your DD enjoys it... if it's the one thing I remember most from that trip (over Dumbo which we waited 1h in line for) it's gotta be pretty awesome! :)

Does it ever get cheaper than 299? That is what I am seeing. I figure Super Grover will be on sale for $139 or 149 soon. I'd rather spend that amount now tahn 300 per ticket....

The Super Grover is good for one year where the Busch Gardens one is for two years. I think you have to decide what your looking for. I planned out our big trips for the next two summers, and I figure that we will be in FL, VA, PA, and CA. Even if we stay at DVC resort, there is a bus from Sea World to Tampa. When I calculated all the parks for one visit, I will spend over $300 just getting in. We live near Seame Place, but I don't go often because it's $53 a per person to get in. I feel I couldn't visit there more than once. I'm off during the summer with plenty of time on my hands.

I bought my passes as a family 4 pack...for $759. that was 3 years ago though. I haven't really payed attention since I didn't need them.

I've been buying the season passes for a few years now. For me, it's worth it. We live about 30-40 minutes away. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use them as often as I'd have liked to this summer, but I'm hoping for lots of visits in the fall. The 30% discount on food & souvenirs is excellent.

Thanks. I am looking at a Diz Cruise in 2012 and another trip that would not incluse the Busch family of parks, so I am looking purely at Super Grover right now. Anyone else have comments/experiences? I am wondering if anyone has been recently to any Busch Gardens or SeaWorld with aGrover and knows the current food discounts, ride agains, and other details. The website is really poor when it comes to laying out the exacting details.
