Sesame Place Season Pass is it worth it?

I see sea world san antonio sells the 9 pask platinum pass for 2 full years for only 199 .. but it says it MUST be redeemed at that park before use elsewhere. Has anyone ever found a way around that??? THAT is a SWEET deal for those in that neck of the woods...

We bought the Platinum passes in August - spent four days in Williamsburg and had a BLAST and BG and Water Country.

The best part was that we got $18 preferred parking (:scared1:) free each time we went to the parks. Our discount is only 10%, but it does add up on snacks and stuff.

We are only about 40 minutes from Sesame Place and are hoping to check it out later this month (although my 11 year old isn't that excited - the 8 and 1 year old are sure to LOVE it!)

Also planning a November trip to FL where we will visit Sea World and Aquatica.

I think its well worth the $50 a month we are paying for all four of us ($12.49 each - the baby doesn't need a ticket)

QUESTION: I think that someone was saying above that we can use our Busch Gardens cup and popcorn bucket at the other parks ... did I understand that right ? We were able to use it at Water Country, but what about Sesame Place and Sea World?

I've used my busch gardens cup in sesame...not sure if it's 'allowed' but I wasn't given a hard time.

The discount is only 30% off at Sesame. All other parks it's 10%.

You also only get free PREFERRED parking at your 'home' park. I have it for Busch Gardens williamsburg...the super Grover passes will have preferred for Sesame.

Andrews Dad....I would call the 1800 number to ask about the Seaworld pass. It IS a good deal...but when I got the deal I did...I HAD to activate them in Williamsburg first.

Will a SeaWorld Plat pass get you the special meet and greets at Sesame Place, or is that just a Grover pass?

I've never tried to use my passes for any of those perks, so I'm no help. My kids now just go for the waterslides and the nets. We don't do much of anything else. Sorry.

Just jumping back in to say that when we went to BGW several years ago with the Super Grover passes, we DID get the preferred parking at BGW as well. So I think it's luck of the draw. ;o)

I tried to sweet talk SW San Antonio to no avail. "Greetings from SeaWorld San Antonio! You will need to process the pass in San Antonio before you visit Sesame Place."

2 years of all 9 parks with all the perks for 199 for SeaWorld SA is a sick deal, but I am not finding any way to get it without going to the park itself. If you are in that area and plan to visit Orlando, it seems like a GREAT deal. Too bad I have no reason to travel to SA except this.

Doesn't seem fair, somehow, does it? It's like they're playing games. Set the price the same for all the parks, that's what I say...ah well!

We've been able to get preferred parking at ALL parks with our Platinum Passes. Because we had them mailed to us, they came from HQ and not Sesame Place, so they just say Worlds of Discovery on front, with the icon for all of the parks. Then on the back they say Platinum (Super Grover). They don't have the picture of Super Grover on the front.

As for which to buy, it really depends on your needs. If we were going to Florida in January, our passes would not work even though we bought them in February. I'm not sure when they go on sale, right now they cost more than what we bought them at this year. Hopefully the 2011's get cheaper when Sesame Place closes for 2010.

i have a 1 year old daughter and a 5 year old son, so i called and asked if the women thought my daughter could go on any of the rides and the women was SOOO RUUDDEEE!!! she said "all u have to do is go on the website and look, most of them say no hand held infants" so i said "she a 1 year old and she sits on her own so im a little confused" and the women said "just think if she can handle it before u go on it" then at the end of the conversation she said in a rush "ok bye" and hung up didnt even ask if i any other questions.. i dont know if i will be goin to sesame place even when my daughter is ready..

i called the DW (dutch wonderland) and they were sooo much nicer.. the women said "yes we have things for your daughter and you son" she was very nice and asked if there was anything else and said have a good day.. much nicer

Dutch Wonderland is really nice and the crowds are much nicer than those at Sesame Place during the day. DW upgrades and maintains their park much better now than they did 15-20 years ago. There are activities for all ages and the lines aren't as long as SP.

There are a few rides at Sesame Place that your 1yr old can go on, but not a lot. She can def go on the carosuel (you will have to stand next to her and support her or sit on the bench seat), the flying fish elmo (Dumbo Elmo verison), she can splash around the the big splash water area and there are a few small water play areas on the other side. There are also 3 shows that she may like too.

We have platinum AP's for the last 3 years. However, where were there 3 weeks ago and the place was dirty and some of the other patrons were really rude or gross. We usually just go for a weekend when the park first opens in May and in the fall. The AP does save you $$ on parking, foodd & admission, but the food is not so great. Sesame Place is def not in the same category as Disney!!

We're planning on Seasame Place for a couple of days in 2012, but probably won't get to any other parks or stay past two days. There are 4 in my fam and I'm thinking about getting one Seasame Season pass in order to get the 30% off merch & food and then just the 2 day passes for everyone else. Does anyone have any experience with that kind of mix match. I want to be sure that it will cover all the food purchases for us and not just one. Also, I'm wondering if I should get the pass that's one up instead in order to Meet & Greet, but then again, would that just cover one person?

It's worth getting one of the mid-priced Season Passes because then you get parking included, and the 30% off covers all the food and souvenirs you care to buy. The Meet & Greet entry is only for passholders though.

Another fun thing to know is that anyone can sign their children up to be in the parade. DS did it with a friend a few years back. They sat on a float and held maracas...SUPER cute!

We will be getting two-day passes this year and go once in August, then back for the Halloween stuff. We LOVE SP!!

Oh, and for the poster who wondered whether her 1 y.o. could do anything - my DD loved the BIG raft ride, Ernie's Sky Splash, from a very young age. It's a favorite for all of us. :goodvibes

You should get the medium priced pass to cover your parking. That will save you a good amount right there. Whoever's name the pass is in, has to get the food, snacks, drinks, souviners, but it will cover as much as you want to buy and gets you the 30% off.

If you are going for 2 days, you should really consider one of the character meals. They do a great job, but food is just ok. You save 10% with the pass on that.
